with a 'heave ho!' she and ashley teamed up to push off the beam to the side which landed with a heavy thud on the ground. the sound reverberated around them, letting the two of them know of their job well done. sweat still on her brow, the blue girl rubbed it away with the back of one closed fist while the other also offered ashley a thumbs-up, rillaboom style. "good gains." holding herself from giving him the good gymbro pat on the ass in fear of his partner's anger, kara instead held onto one of ashley's shoulders - eyes glimmering with hope for his future transformation. the guy across from her had made quick progress and was keeping up with training his body. [break]
kara was very proud of him and showed him in the endearing squeeze she gave to his delt.[break]
"love that for you king," she joked a bit as she patted his grown muscle - admiring the change from before to the present time. with such a strong individual by her side, they could likely take on anything. it made kara a bit cocky, having such a capable brother figure in her life. this was a welcome turn for her who was so demure and unsure about herself. ashley offered her structure and a basis by which to grow and a place to come back to and mull over her thoughts when needed. [break]
he was a wonderful person. of that much, she could not have her impression of him changed.[break]
"i want one too one day," she commented while giving a 'sup' nod towards the rillaboom. already planning their future excursions, she mimicked lifting yet another weight on her shoulders. "that way we can have two more gym-goers with us. they could help spot us!" she suggested excitedly and then dug into her hoodie for two pokeballs that let out her twin torchics. one sighed at having to see the other, more pompous one. the two little fireballs made quick work to try and chase down one of the combees that gave an expression that simply read: 'oh shit.'[break]
"i believe in the power of friendship!" kara exclaimed happily, pointing towards the first combee target. "we'll make quick work of it, you and me, ashley!" holding out her free hand as if tagging him in, she offered a distraction in the form of on torchic giving a feather dance to obscure the combee's vision and the other keeping it from flying away by continuous quick attacks blocking off its routes of movement.

unfortunately for the two of them, they had no homes. together now, they were a couple of idiots just smashing their heads together and hoping to not lose enough brain cells in their excursions to cause any permanent damage. goofy grins were always plentiful among them. perhaps that's why kara felt at ease - smiling and laughing when she had little reaction to most anything otherwise.[break]
"ayo? that sounds really cool. poor bongo and bongette, or bon ... goo?" obviously, thinking wasn't kara's strong point. maybe that's why she tried to compensate with her physique. she was obviously trying to name this grookey of his, unsure of the gender or what would be appropriate as a name for the little diddy kong accompanying the donkey kong older brother that bongo was. her torchics returned to her side, one pecking at her toes like a little bastard and the other nuzzling into her leg wanting to be praised for a job well done. the yin-yang chickens seemed to be content with their effort but there was still a lot to be done. perhaps out of her own shyness, kara decided to focus on the battle at hand, rubbing at the underside of her nose with a finger in an 'aw shucks' manner since ashley's suggestion did not go unnoticed. it simply was something she couldn't openly admit to wanting herself if not offered first. ashley was a special guy in her life. she dared not take from him unless told to, seeing as he already had so much ripped from his being and she was focused on filling in holes and gaps she could manage to plaster her dumbass efforts and self into.[break]
"alright, let's get it!" as if the protagonist of some pokemon anime, the blue-haired dork all but flung the little bitch torchic pecking at her toes at the combee being flung to the ground. the fire type had little to do but give a panicked ember attack as it opened its beak to scream but also cough up flaming hot embers onto the bee pokemon as it was flung at high speeds past it. the other torchic simply watched solemnly, a tear in its eye in a dramatic fashion as if to say goodbye to its twin. of course, the torchic would be fine and come bounding back to shoot more angry embers at the combee and kara could only hope she wouldn't be next. rubbing at her neck, she sheepishly admitted:[break]
"may have made 'er a bit too angry. don't worry, if she tries to come after you i'll just take the beating." aka, she wouldn't let her little chicken try to bother ashley or bongo too much. the combee was lying on the ground knocked out, but maybe it was only a matter of time before more came. the game plan was to get some training in, but these damn little winged devils had gotten in the way. kara decided then and there it'd be fine to roast a few more if need be. "but tell me, ash --" oh no, a serious question? "are you a dry scooper?" of course not. kara was already digging into her rucksack-like bag for some pre-workout, already looking for an excuse to juice up for a round two of muscle building.
