Tragic? Hardly. He just had a penchant for being dramatic. Case in point...

"My destiny is to conquer. To be on top. To rule." The spoiled Marceliño heir replied to the man's query, raising his glass of sangria up to his lips. "The question is, can your organization help me reach that goal, or will it end up another stepping stone in the road to my success?"

He certainly had no qualms about being a cocky smart-arse to his potential future boss.
