He’s trying. This is trying, he thought. This carnival, the silly ears. He’d tried to pick a week day, where the crowds may be smaller but even still. A fair is a fair: busy and colorful. So when he comes back from the bathroom to what only looked like the human equivalent of an overstimulated cat, he moved to action. The urge to soothe is so powerful, he risks getting clawed at. “Hey, there you are.” [break][break]

Andres slide an arm over the Rocket’s shoulder, trying to heard the man out of the denser part of the crowd. Essentially doing a little pull over to a spot with shade and space. "Bathroom line was sooo long...how y'feeling about the swing ride?" he asked pointing at a large wheel with people strapped inside spinning wildly and lifting off its base to tilt from side to side.

Onyx seemed a little relieved, at least Andres liked to think so. He rubs the guy's shoulder once or twice waiting for him to relax a bit. He flashes a grin when they reciprocate with an arm around his hips. "It's like...4 tickets each. Not bad for wheel of death." he said leading him to the line. [break][break]

It is a popular ride, but its not as long a wait as something like the ferris wheel or the roller coaster were. "How often do you go out to fairs anyway? I only really hear about it from my kids." he said.

"Yeah?" Andres asked, grin broad at the hint of Onyx's past. But after a moment, he realized perhaps this cuts too close to that time Onyx liked to avoid. A long swathe in their past he respected as unspeakable. [break][break]

So he rubs his thumb once more on Onyx's shoulder and casts his eyes towards the screaming wheel. "Scared? That doesn't seem like you." He said as he nodded over to the line. "Now you've got me here, so you have no excuse to not get on." He leads him there, words light as he speaks. He's more than happy to keep the mood up, taking on the weight of the conversation.

He smirks when Onyx reacts, distracted from whatever regrets he held in his past. He's quick to prep the tickets he needs to join Onyx for the thrill ride. Frist one of the day was always the best rush. The anticipation, the nerves. The lack of risk because you hadn't eaten anything yet. [break][break]

"C'mon...you don't trust the ex-skinhead to hit a couple of buttons in sequence?" he said before looking over at the spinning wheel as it flew up with passengers. The machinery that was revealed as it lifted looked ok enough. Not visibly rusted, maybe a little squeaky but that was because of the grease...right? It's not that bad. [break][break]

"It's not like they've had an accident yet. Why be anxious?" he asked, devil may care in the face of a potential danger to himself, and worse, to Onyx. As he says that he watches some teens rush and stumble off the ride before putting their hands to their mouths. Andres turned away before he saw the puke and grimaced at the wet sounds. "Don't look, it'll put the bad ideas in your head." he said with a forced laugh before they were ushered to pay up their tickets and began to find a spot.

"Hey!" he's jostled forward by his smart ass fate. But he lets out a laugh all the same as he picks a spot and pats the pleather pads next to him for Onyx to join. He chats along idly, multiple groups of teens and adults, along with a surprising amount of couples as well all joining in. [break][break]

He thanks the worker for securing him only to turn to Onyx as he scares the poor kid. They turn away hurriedly and he can't help but burst out laughing. "I don't know if you've guaranteed us a safe ride, or jinxed us." he said as he griped the straps. [break][break]

He shakes his head proudly. "C'mon, hasn't even started yet." he said despite the butterflies in his stomach. Although it's debatable if that was nerves form the ride or nerves from just being around Onyx. He's happy to see him happy, even for a little bit. They'd typically sat at home together, and while that was comfortable, sometimes going out could be fun too. Even if you were afraid of crowds.

"Maybe my luck will balance it out." he suggested Not that he considered himself particularly lucky. But then again, he'd never thought he'd see Onyx again. And that had been pretty lucky. As the ride begins setting up, Andres trembled in anticipation waiting for the spinning and the wobbling to start. [break][break]

The grin he wears plastered on his face as he turned to Onyx. "Yeah." The sound of air rushing through machinery and the sudden stop of everything cues him in that they're about to start. "But you already know I was, right?" He lets out a bark of laughter before the wheel they're inside of begins to spin, faster and faster and he wiggles in place as the g forces start to hit. And just as he'd promised, he's screaming at the top of his lungs as the wheel began to tilt from side to side.

Andres is liberal with his WOO'S! and his laughs. He's done this dozens of times, with friends and dates. But he forgets those faces in the moment, all too excited as the wheel spins and twirls. The only thing keeping them from getting flung into the sky, the seatbelts and bars strapping them in. [break][break]

But then he looks at Onyx all floppy limbed and grinning and his smile widens so much it hurts and the laughter that bubbles up out of him is so loud, and so genuine. No, this didn't feel like Onyx's usual haunts, and no he hadn't seemed super happy when they first made it through the bustling crowd- but he's happy now. And he hopes this little moment is just the first of many Andres can help him find. He hopes this wasn't a bad idea. He hopes its not a waste of his time. [break][break]

He lets out one last WOO, as the ride slows down before gravity takes over and he's standing on his feet again, shaking slightly from the rush. "Again?" he asked, turning to Onyx, only half kidding. "Maybe later?" he added, looking for compromise. "Right before we eat...so you don't puke on me." he added as the safety bars release, and he's already unbuckling his straps, buzzing with energy.
