"hey! you there!"

priam points at a certain blonde hiker as he sees her lingering around the area. if he doesn't recognize her as part of the force, it can only mean the other way around.

donning a helmet— which he doesn't think he needs to, but he feels comfortable hiding his face anyways— and a sygna suit to combat the effects of ultra space, he repeatedly makes exaggerated motions to take her attention.

"you're not allowed here! go home, girlie!"

he doesn't resort to violence first, but he's not opposed to using it to enforce their claim over the one piece.

shouting inside the ultra deep sea surprisingly carries the same echo as when doing it in a cave. then again, the whole world surprisingly looks like one.

"depends! does that give me bonus points?"

to admit himself as a rocket still wasn't something he's accustomed with. he's more used to denying it, and clashes with the league often has him implicated as one, withholding the need to do so.

still, she was wrong about one thing.

"i'm owning it though! ya don't know it, but i'm the most important person right here, right now! that's basically the same thing!"

he would want to say more, but shouting takes a lot more energy than he thought, especially given that he's been running around nonstop.

the offer hits a certain spot in his head that rewarded him with dopamine. a smile would show, had he not been wearing a helmet.

"ooh, i'm down!"

he doesn't actually need to be asking or taking questions, but he's in a mood to go all out, push himself to the limit, and run himself ragged for this day.

he raises his hand to the air, showing two fingers for the ex-gym leader on her aerodactyl.

"make it a doubles battle!" he proposes. "more 'mons, more action, am i right?"

tilly gives a screech as francie moves her heels a certain way, turning her body to show she's gonna hop off. and she does, before tilly even lands.[break][break]

"alright, two it is!" she pulls two capsules from her belt and beams like some kinda protagonist; even if she's more a side character.[break][break]

"ready ta go, boys?" she asks the capsules, happy to feel them shake in response.

"aight, lady! ya better get ready for a loss, cause i ain't fuckin' around!"

he probably would, but he's too excited to actually remember that he's here for a job instead of recreational pokemon battles, which was the main reason he's going around looking for league personnel.

with the opposing side posing really well with her pokeballs, priam tries to be fancy with the way he handles his own. he snatches two of them, tossing them up, and then catching each ball with an opposite hand to form an x with his arms.

"heh! how's that?" playful arrogance colored his tone. "let's go!"

two pokemon enter the field. one of them fits the color scheme of his suit, hinting of a possible connection with it. the other was an ultra beast endemic to this area.

it's clear priam was just trying to show off.

she's called lady again and it makes her chuckle. she's often called that by children. she wonders, is this guy a child? doesn't look it, but kids rarely do these days.[break][break]

tossing both of the capsules up, her minior norman and her dusk lycanroc louie are released. she gives a cute wink, having been sure to release the minior closer to the other two pokémon who were released, eyes on the two curiously.[break][break]

she's not familiar with them aside from news reels and media coverage. even then, it's not a lot.[break][break]

there is one thing she knows for a fact, "dude! your nihilego is so cool!!"[break][break]

quickly, she snaps out of her fangasm.[break][break]

"ahem, anyway, uh," she grins. "norman, i think they wanna see some stars!"[break][break]

her command is followed, confusing rays of light beginning to swirl around the minior. norman's confuse ray is aimed at the hisiuan samurott.[break][break]

"louie get in close, concentrate on bringing that thing down to your level!"[break][break]

her energy is high and she's nearly bouncing in her place as louie charges off. psychic energy begins to build in his fangs as he leaps up to grip the nihilego by the tendril with a psychic fang.

"hehe, i caught it all by myself!"

technically, he did, but mostly because he got one as an egg. it was during a trip with a lot of other people too, but he was alone when it hatched and he had a ball touch it.

the battle starts as soon as he gloats. she starts out strong, especially after catching priam off-guard while he's bragging about his pokemon.

"what? that's unfair!" he tells her. "i still needed to tell ya about all the stuff i had to do to get her!"

he sighs, but the battle must continue.

"er, sammy?" the confusion has the pokemon clutching its head as it wanders in place. instead, he turns his attention to his nihilego, who was seemingly in pain despite its featureless face.

"oh no, safeguard!"

it's too late already, but it's better than having it happen a second time in a row. its slimy tentacle eventually manages to escape the clutches of the lycanroc's fangs, hiding behind the samurott before putting up a protective curtain.

norman's still on the field, so she knows a stomping tantrum wouldn't be wise... but she also knows something about her minior that others don't. so she decides, it's time to take the risk.[break][break]

"alright boys it's time ta pitch a fit and then get ready for a light show. norman, take a step back. louie, be prepared to swap with him!"[break][break]

heeding francie's command, even if norman is near him, he keeps those fangs locked in on the nihilego and releases a stomping tantrum. the earth beneath his feet, being stomped upon by his tough claws does damage to not only her opponents two pokémon, but to norman as well.[break][break]

the moment his tantrum is over, the minior's shell is all that is left behind as it retreats back and away from the others a bit. francie's arms move up and she lets a meditation begin, wrist shining with energy. she shifts her hands into the shape of a star before twirling into a small circle, rainbow ribbons following her body. her minior does the same, synchronizing with her movements.[break][break]

"prismatic mobius!"

many colorful spinning rings swirl around in the air covering an area of effect. initially, the rings heal minior and any targets within the area before shifting into a damaging zone for a brief period of time.

those beautiful rings of prismatic colors circle the minior, and only the minior, healing him and building up within the shards or rainbow like prisms within his core.[break][break]

louie is puffing through his nose, snorting out some of the sand from his muzzle while preparing to likely dodge whatever comes his way and swap places with norman.

"which one's norman, and which one's louie?!" he asks, almost a shout, as the other trainer calls her pokemon nicknames instead of their species names.

the nihilego doesn't manage to slip away after all, being stuck in place for the entirety of the tantrum. while it's eventually let go of, it does get left lightheaded.

maybe showing off a pokemon, even if it just hatched a month ago, just because it's cool wasn't the best idea.

"er, um, alright." he really tries to get something out of the combination, but nothing works. "both of you just go all out! yeah!"

nothing would go wrong, right?

clear smog becomes an involuntary response from the nihilego. like a startled squid, it sprays out its ink that colors the surroundings with murky, white gasses.

from the cover of the fog comes waves of air slashes in an attempt to push off the lighter minior away from them. priam doesn't actually know what its move does, but since it's something that can explode, he figured he might as well assume it will.

"look at that, so you're not just a loudmouth! change of plans boys, louie take the hit! norman, move over them and get yourself into their zone!"[break][break]

quickly for a rock pokémon, louie dashes toward the minior and manages to get there in time for the air slashes to be blocked, that clear smog causing his chest to ache as he gets closer and is knocked to the ground, sliding away with the force of the move.[break][break]

"perfect!" it seems almost cruel to say that her pokémon taking a hit is perfect, but her strategy is working and she's far too excited about it.[break][break]

norman moves toward the other two, healing rings shift from rainbows to nearly blinding lights of damage. the rings are now pulsing out energy, damaging those around it—specifically, the two opposing pokémon since louie had been pushed away.[break][break]

"stay back here for a minute, louie. we don't want those rings gettin' ya. good boy."[break][break]

the dusk lycanroc jabbers lightly at his trainer while getting to his feet, shaking to attempt and get the pain to leave him be.

clear smog continues to propagate from the same location they were last at, creeping inch by inch to every direction it can spread to.

visibility remains low, and uncertainty was weaponized by priam and his pokemon against the unknown that francie has presented against them.

as the minior approaches them, a loud bang could be heard.

a scatterbang deafens the area, where no sound beside the echo in everyone's ears could be heard. movement behind the curtain of smog was definitely possible, but with no visuals or sounds, one is limited to trying to locate them by scent through the fog of poison.

paranoia feeds on a person's uncertainty, and priam banks on the protection of his sygna suit to give him the edge in this fight.

the fog is horrible. it spreads and continues to get thick and disgusting. it causes a hardship in seeing. but francie knows that norman's z-move, and potentially shaking things up a little with louie, will allow for the fog to clear. not as effectively as something like gust, but...[break][break]

"hang in there norman! go back 'em up louie, shake things up!"[break][break]

with a howl, the dusk lycanroc's eyes burn red and he leaps into the battle field. the hit from norman's attack, which branches out every, hits louie about the time the scatterbug does. with a howl of pain, louie does as he's told. he uses a stomping tantrum and goes to town, slamming his tough claws into the ground and breaking it apart, hitting every pokémon within the area. including norman.[break][break]

the minior continues the aura, sending out shockwaves of light into the fog to help in clearing it out. the prismatic minierals within the auras strike not just the opponent's pokémon, but louie as well.[break][break]

francie raised her hands up to her ears, wincing. that whatever that had just happened, the scatter, caused her to wince and blink rapidly. she's blinded, she groans.[break][break]

"what's with all these ninja things?!"

the efforts of both the lycanroc and the minior finally stopped the clear smog from propagating. without a source to continue pumping the veil, they dissipate in the air and thin out.

what remains is a nihilego, all splayed on the ground, knocked out by the combination of moves.

"wanna try one?"

francie would soon find priam floating in the air beside her and her aerodactyl, an index finger and a thumb holding a spare scatterbang in case she wants to take his offer. unique properties of this dimension allow one to swim in the air as if underwater, though priam assumes that no one does it since it wasn't natural to them.

"yeah, sorry, i had to do it so i could reposition without you realizing it." he promptly turns to the samurott, who had brought him above. "aqua cutter!"

the carefulness in handling the scatterbang before francie transfers over to the samurott through the sygna suit. the pokemon's senses grow stronger as it aims its moves at the pokemon below.

the samurott starts to swipe its weapon, raining waves of water blades from above.
