She no longer had any concept of time and space. Battle after battle. She was growing weary. Her protective gear felt heavy and worn. And the pink mist infusing just about every inch of this damned realm didn’t help at all.

But she had to press on. She had to do what others could not. She had to be the pillar upon which the countless League operatives, currently doing their job, could count on.

And so she trudged alongside a CARGO convoy meant to deliver pivotal resources to their people in the field.

[attr="class","leymain"]Fox hadn’t brought a flier. Thankfully, the strange gravity-non-gravity of the Deep Sea mitigated that.

He sat with his legs crossed atop his Steelix’s head as Calichu wove through the formless sky like a serpentine dragon. His latest missive had directed him towards a supply convoy heading deep into the Deep Sea.

Calichu brought him low over the train of Pokemon and he slid off her back, landing lightly on his feet, slinging his pack over one shoulder.

“Councilwoman,” he said, voice slightly muffled behind his mask. He pulled out his hipflask and uncapped it, holding it out. “You look like you need this.”

She gazed up into the sky of the Ultra Deep Sea. But she quickly regretted it. Paranoia was clearly not the only thing this realm was feeding, now she was hallucinating as well.

Flying Steelix. There was no way.

But then it approached her and it became all too real. Atop of it sat someone she did not recognize but who clearly recognized her.

The person offered her a drink, and for a moment she wondered if this was still a hallucination. But she grabbed the flask, and gently sniffed it before she looked toward the person and asked. “Thank you. What is it?”

She didn’t immediately sip. Drinking things from strangers wasn't exactly the safest thing to do.

Lemon and Ginger, it matched the smell. At least she would’ve loved to claim so, but honestly her brain wasn’t picking up much of what her nose was trying to tell it.

And so she sipped, pushing away safety for the promise of a nice drink.

And nice it was.

A question was posed for her. One she actually had to think about.

“Save for a few scratches, and fatigue, I am as good as I can be.” She put on her brave face, as she handed him his hip flask once more. But one look at the gear she wore and another tale was told. She'd seen enough battle for today.

“How about you?”

he wisely kept his thoughts to himself.

"i'm well, thank you." he hadn't seen much combat-- yet. his background in guerilla warfare had kept him on the sidelines, gathering intel, tracking enemy movement, and delivering supplies on the sly.

"my name is fox. i'm under the cadre supervised by your cousin." he didn't feel like he needed to explain which one. "do your pokemon need anything?"

If she had given the man’s face any attention at all, she’d have seen the look he sent her. But alas she was too busy watching out for everything else to notice.

Still, she listened to his words.

He pulls out a giant cheese ball-esque container filled with the little dry pellets commercially sold as Pokemon chow.

"And I have this for your Pokemon, if they'll deign to eat it. Or you can have some, I suppose."

That sounds truly delicious. Elinor thought, swallowing the saliva that had begun to fill her mouth.

“I am sure they will. My Pokémon aren’t picky eaters.” She said as Faelan showed the dry pellets.

“But how much of it can you spare?” She inquired. “My Pokémon are quite large, and usually their appetite fits their size.”

He hands over the container. Each little nugget contains the protein and carbohydrate power to fuel any number of Pokemon. At least according to the TV show. He also leaves her with a packet of emergency rations and a small bundle of first aid things.

“If you need assistance, just radio,” he says, clambering back up onto the back of his Steelix.

Elinor gratefully accepts the container she is given. It would go a long way in recuperating her Pokémon’s strength. She also notices the emergency rations and bundle of first aid things that he gives her as well. “Thank you.”

And with that it seemed their little meeting came to an end as Faelan had to be on his way.

“Will do, and the same to you. My channels are always open.” She beamed a bright smile as she watched him climb the Steelix and leave, letting her return to the mission at hand of protecting the Convoy as it would continue its journey.

Nothing else of note happened, the Convoy reached its destination, and in doing so offered Elinor a moment's respite where she even had time to feed her Pokémon the rations Faelan had granted her.
