Ito had… well, frankly negative idea where he was- actually, that was untrue, he recognized the streetlamp he just passed ten minutes ago coming up on his right again! [break][break]

This must’ve been hell, that’s what he decided. There was no other way to describe being caught in a loop in his least favorite part of Castelia.[break][break]

Agghhhh! This was all because he fell down into that rift! If he’d just paid more attention for that girl’s sake he wouldn’t’ have had to swap places with her and take the tumble, but here he was, wandering through the Ultra Deep Sea![break][break]

The specter in his backpack let out a distorted cry, mimicking his frustration. Like its trainer, it also hated this alleyway, it hated it an irrational amount for a ghost type capable of traveling through shadows. He couldn’t blame it really, since the alleyway reminded it of its first ever loss.[break][break]

That’s what he thought was the issue was anyways, even if his thoughts would soon be immediately hijacked by the pain of his knee impacting a wall that wasn’t there before, and the landscape changing to reflect a different alleyway.[break][break]

This time though, his eyes settled upon a girl halfway down the alleyway, looking just as lost as he was.[break][break]

God... this was hell. Literal hell. She'd heard stories from the other grunts about Ultra Deep Sea- how it could bend to the mind to its victims and terrorize them. And- well, this was not her hell. But it felt like it. Who the fuck would willingly walk around alleyways?[break][break]

No, no- that wasn't her problem right now. What was a problem was the big pokemon she'd accidently stirred. Despite how unathletic she could be, Akira moved with the the haste that spelled out the definition of "hauling ass", practically going at a dead sprint. She wasn't sure how far she'd been running, but with the amount of flickering lights there were... it felt like it was forever.[break][break]

After rounding a corner, Akira found herself running face first to a warm brick wall of a body, thus causing her to be tossed backwards into the cracked asphalt of the fake alleway. "OUCH!" She yelped, quickly raising a hand to rub her back. Heavy panting from fatigue aside, Akira would look up with a singular glared eye. "For the love of- why are you just standing around?! How can you be so chill with- with- that thing in here!"

Truthfully, he was going to call out and ask why she was running, but by the time he decided to do that she’d already crashed right into him and sent them both to the ground.[break][break]

He let out a grunt as his backpack swung into a nearby trashcan and tipped it, knocking it over into another trashcan. The loud echoing chained together well enough to attract something, even if they didn’t know fully yet what it was.[break][break]

”Ugh, ‘the hell are you even talking about?! I’ve been walking in this alleyway for half an hour and you’re the first person- thing! I’ve seen!” He was absolutely whining, but the situation called for it. Anyone would get frustrated and mad if they were made to walk their least favorite street in the world on loop![break][break]

Ito scrambled slightly to stand, taking a moment to readjust the backpack carrying his spectral companion. He’d long since given up on getting them to sit in a pokeball after all.[break][break]

”You hurt?” He leaned down to offer Akira a hand, unaware of the reason of her rush.

He flinched as she started shouting, causing that unmovable scowl he always wore to shift downwards just a bit more. When it came to moments like these, Ito wore his emotions on his face better than he did the jacket he was so attached to.[break][break]

”Fuck me for trying, I guess…” He mumbled, getting right up to follow after her with a light jog. ”Listen lady, I’ve already told you that this alley has been looping on me for half an hour! It’s not gonna randomly swap up I-[break][break]

A great and terrifying roar swept above the alleyways, one Akira knew very well. Judging by the sound of it, they still had time before it was on top of them, but it wasn’t very far at all.[break][break]

”W-What was that!?” Ito started to move a little faster, only for the alleyway to shift before their very eyes once more as the right turn they’d been getting ready to take quickly became a curved pathway to the left.

Akira's teeth would grit in annoyance as the boy acted so... fucking... naive! Given, she wasn't any better about that sometimes. But at least she had the awareness to not disregard danger, especially when warned about it! She looked like she was one step away from beating some sense into him![break][break]

"Well just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not-"[break][break]

The roar would shake the entire alleyway, causing Akira's visible eye to widen in shock. Shit, shit! It was coming! She would quickly begin to chase after the stranger, panting in the process. "I fucking told you! Its- Its a god damned native to this place! God, I wish I knew my pokemon names a bit better..."[break][break]

Unfortunately, unlike the guy, Akira was running on fumes with how long she'd been running. "We- We need to find somewhere to hide! Running makes space but- we need to figure out how to get out of here!"

Unfortunately for both Akira and Ito, they were just a bit too slow for their own reasons, and the source of the roaring revealed itself by smashing in the wall of the alleyway they ran down.[break][break]

The falling rubble obscured it first, only for one beat of its wings to instantly clear the dust and stone, blowing apart the mess it’d made itself to gaze upon the two fresh cuts of meat in the Ultra Sea.[break][break]

”Ohhhhhhh hell no! That’s the fucking thing you meant!? What the fuck is that!?” This time Ito kicked into a sprint, but he grabbed Akita’s wrist without thinking, dragging her along at a faster pace.[break][break]

He didn’t know know why he was so willing to pull her along, but considering how tired she looked, there was no point in asking. His hand fished into his bag and dragged out a pokeball, tossing it out in front of him.[break][break]

”Run!! Haxorus, Rock Slide!!” The crimson tusked dragon scraped its head across the earth, sending a barrage of stone at the crimson winged menace behind them. It wouldn’t stop it, but it bought them time.

"Why are you ASKING ME?! Hell- does it even matter?!" It was pretty clear that they were both equally panicked, as the motherfucking creature chasing her finally showed itself. God- it looked more scary then before! "It's big, it's angry, and it flies! That all I need to know to realize it spells DANGER!"[break][break]

She didn't even have time to scold the boy for grabbing her and pulling her along. But in the end, it helped her keep moving despite being fatigued. She was prepared to tell Umbreon to use Confusion Ray, but it seemed that the boy was way ahead of her-[break][break]

Oh.. this was so fucked. Why did she ever volunteer herself for this?! "Okay so- you said this place is infinite?! There has to be a door here right?" Akira panted. "I've.. I've heard people talk about how this place can warp to memories. But I don't remember any of this, is this your hellscape of a fucking maze?!"

”It’s a hellscape because I hate this goddamn alleyway back home!” This time Ito didn’t properly react to what was going on behind them, but Haxorus’ stomping behind them meant their pursuer hadn’t broken free yet, thankfully.[break][break]

”I’m from Castelia! Getting stuck in this damn loop is just my luck, because all I can think of is this stupid alleyway!” He explained, watching as the alleyway shifted in front of their eyes once again, opening up into a back alley without an exit this time, cornering them both.[break][break]

The giant monster behind them let out another roar this time, then threw its body into the rocks to smash them apart. It was highly unamused by the attempt to stop it, clearly, an only charged at the pair of them at high speed.[break][break]

”Shit, shit shit… Haxorus! X-Scissor!” Ito called out to his partner, letting olive green light coat its tusks before it lunged to strike.[break][break]

Simultaneously, azure blue light coated the monster’s wings, and it swung them at Haxorus, their clash causing a shockwave that put cracks in the nearby alleyway walls.[break][break]

”Oi, you got some way to slow it down, r-right!?”

This idiot was joking, right? Of all the edgy motherfuckers she'd met in Hoenn... this kid just happened to hate fucking Alleyways?! God- fucking-[break][break]

"THEN STOP HATING IT THEN, DIPSHIT!" She found herself yelling fiercely. "Hate a door into existence or something! Hell, hate literally anything else and see if that does something!"[break][break]

Looking over her shoulder, she noticed the odd monster still pursing them, though being slowed by the efforts of the boy. A loud tsk would escape her. "You suck at this... Umbreon!" Pulling a pokeball out of her pocket, she would summon her Umbreon- it landing gracefully on her shoulders. "Use Confusion Ray!"[break][break]

Almost instinctively, Umbreon's chest would puff up- before releasing a loud bark in the form of a ray of purple light being directed at the monster. Such would make contact with the creature after X-Scissors, reverting it into a state of confusion.

"Oh what a great fuckin' idea, why didn't I think of that?" Compared to Akira, Ito wasn't at his breaking point yet, and thus couldn't bring himself to completely snap at the only other human he'd met in that godforsaken place. With that in mind, all he managed to retort with was a frustrated grumble, all while he watched his Haxorus get thrown back from the clash with the unknown monster, sliding right back across the alley's pavement until it stopped itself right in front of them.[break][break]

The light of the confusion ray floated towards the advancing monster and caused it to stop for a brief moment. Previously resolute and determined to tear them into ten quadrillion pieces, it instead began to teeter and shake almost drunkenly. Its maw came open, a plume of fire gathering within it before-[break][break]

The fire blew up inside the monster's own mouth, causing the alleyway to once again crumble in on itself, cutting the pair of trainer's off from their pursuer.[break][break]

"Holy hell, that worked- hey the path's back, get your ass moving!" Once again, Ito pulled Akira along without asking her.[break][break]

He meant well, at least.
