How could this happen? That despite her best efforts to skirt around danger and stay out of the way of that noxious pink mist, she still finds herself being ensnared in its grasp. And this being after all she had said about staying a thousand miles away from this hallucinogenic problem to Ashley Shepard? She prays to the spiteful gods up above that she doesn't have to relive any semblance of her past like he did.[break][break]

"So, Reiner, Mes? Any good plans in those noggins of yours before we're jumped by another feathered lizard?"[break][break]

Her words fall on deaf ears, the pink pixie throwing up her hands as she begins squeaking on and on about something that Eris can't even begin to translate. As for the Luxray, he sees perfectly content with picking out a random direction and beginning to just walk, knowing that the more they panic and struggle in this strange mist, the more likely they are to run into danger.[break][break]

"Right, right. Yeah, you know what. If we just imagine that we get out of here, it's bound to create an exit somewhere, right?"[break][break]

He snorts in response, gently tugging her along by the hand with his tail.[break][break]

"Say, if we imagined like a good ol' pizza, right about now- You know, I don't really know if I would put pineapples."[break][break]

A soft growl.[break][break]

"You're right, we should be imagining a good ol' pepperoni with tons of cheese."[break][break]

A low sigh emanates from the Luxray. Only a few more hours in this space until the higher-ups inevitably call for a tactical retreat.

Jett looked forward to being in this place, but this was something different, that mist was something he didn’t hear anything good about. ”Damn, Bubby; let’s stay well away from it.” He said, and yet, that wasn’t really the case, mist was a strange thing, what you could see was just where it was the thickest.

The man should’ve known that, as a grown man, as an adult, as someone who had finished his run of education, it was a simple truth and yet, he wasn’t aware of it, or rather, he hid away from it, a simple thing really.

”Fuck.” Even saying it, the shapes around him changed, they shifted, it was yellow, red, and…”Pizza?” He said as he rode, the dust cloud kicked up by his Cyclizar kicked up dust even in this strange space, spreading the energy, and yet, he came to a stop at a cliffedge.

This…Wasn’t his dream, he came to a stop, seeing sight of a small girl, and her pokemon. ”Hey hey, you’re the one sending pizza up all around here aren’t you?” And yet he couldn’t catch any of them…

Jett could not help himself from laughing, it was a deep one. ”Aye, aye, listen to your mama. Those are some good words to look forward to, I ain’t much of a kid man, so you probably aren’t a figment of mine, and I doubt you thought of an old man on a bike-shaped pokemon, so I’m not.” He said with a shrug, he doubted why a kid would be in this place.

Was it a means to push him towards weakness, would he be able to fight as well if he knew a kid was in the area.

He knew the answer, and the answer was no. ”My name is Jett Roan, I’m just a layabout, no-one special. What’re you doing here? You know people are dying out there.” He tried to sound just a little bit firm, his arms crossed, and yet; the floor he was standing on turned into a pizza, he kicked down ,and watched it all wobble.

[attr="class","inner-finally"]He looks like a stranger, talks like a stranger and laughs at the weirdest of things. Overall, he'd honestly be quite a good match of what a stranger might be - A sort of mish-mesh of traits that she can't seem to put her finger on.[break][break]

"Whatever you say, old man. You're arguing your existence exactly how a figment of my imagination would argue." She shrugs, leaning over to give Reiner a good scratch behind the ears. "Iunno what a layabout is but it sounds like a made up word. And also, I got lost. I'm technically not supposed to tell you that cos you're stranger, but you're a figment of my imagination anyways, so what does it matter?"[break][break]

As she watches the floor underneath him turn into pizza, she really begins to wonder if the lines between reality and sheer imagination should be allowed to blur. The whole otome route with Nisa Holo had told her the many bad things that would occur, but just in case...[break][break]

"Have you tried any of the pizza floating around? Or does it just kinda disappear when you touch it?"

”You might be a figment of mine if anything, but forget all of that boring complicated stuff kiddo.” He said as he patted the head of his Cyclizar. ”I don’t like pizza, I ain’t gonna eat some stuff that’s from someone else’s brain.” Jett looked over the edge, it was a simple matter. ”Personally I’m more of a burger man.”

And so, the burgers began to rain down as if the heavens opened, it was a strange idea to begin with, but it only got worse and worse with time. ”You have to be kidding me? This cou-” He stopped himself where he was, stopping his words in that moment.

He wouldn’t make it worse.

”Why am I even trying to convince a Kid I’m real. I’m either real or I’m not, you decide which is which. I’m a part of your mind, so whatever, just what are you doing in a dangerous space?”

And the more she thinks, the more likely strange things are to manifest in this space - Take the sky raining burgers as an example. This man must've watched a lot of movies to have imagined such a scenario.[break][break]

"I just got lost. A rift opened out of nowhere and I found myself here." A half-lie peppered with bits of Hideo Kino's story will suffice as a cover story. She can't imagine how this man might react if she gives even a hint of being part of Rocket, and if he's part of her imagination... Actually, she might be able to imagine it, as much as it pains her to say it.[break][break]

"I would suggest we run though, 'cos you're bringing back memories of stuff I've seen in these woods and boy, lemme tell you-"[break][break]

A rather familiar roar rumbles through the mist, the flapping of feathered wings growing louder as a giant Salamence rushes at them.[break][break]

”Tch.” So kids were still wondering these parts? Jett couldn’t help but find himself annoyed at that fact. It was strange, but the world was beginning to change around them just again…

”You sure know a lot about this place huh?” He pondered what she had said, the reaction she had given, and the roar…Wait, a roar? He didn’t know what to think of the large dragon that appeared before them, his eyes looking at the strange shape change, and so he knew.

”Salamence…” A powerful pokemon, it was large, larger than others he had seen. ”We’re not outrunning it, get behind me. Shift gears.” He told his Cyclizar, while his other pokeball opened up to reveal Remoraid, which he held in his hand to brace the pokemon.

He saw a powerful blaze of flames being powered up inside the maw of the dragon in front of him. ”Hydro pump.” The flamethrower met the strong outpouring of water, before they both met in an explosion of mist.

”Is this one of yours?”

[attr="class","inner-finally"]When danger approaches, she doesn't need to be told twice to duck. She slips behind the man without hesitation, using his larger build to try and remain out of sight. Though, he doesn't really work as well when compared to the explosion of mist.[break][break]

"I only know that much cos you gotta pick things up quick if you wanna survive in Hoenn. There's a problem just about every few months and Interdimensional assassins working with our world's god to kill us." She hums, nudging Reiner's shoulder as he whips up the beginnings of a Springtide Storm.[break][break]

"I don't know who thought up that thing, but it's built different. Super feral. Almost snapped me in half earlier!"

The smarts to survive, Jett knew that it was important, but at the same time it always left a bad taste in his mouth to hear it. Kids were kids, but at the same time; it wasn’t as if he would coddle them either. ”See if you can box it in, any attack that can potentially ground it is good for us.” If that thing flew out of their range, then it would have free pickings, and that was why Cyclizar was getting ready.

The mist began to disperse, Jett pointed remoraid up in the air again, this time her fighting spirit was rising. While Cyclizar was the pokemon he considered his partner, Lucky was a gift from a friend, a keepsake, and he trusted her almost as much, had known her longer than any of his other pokemon.

”Alright, Focus Energy.” She began to power up, but at the same time there was a gap as the Salamence charged forward, draconic energies swirling in its maw before it crushed down on it; a dragon pulse with significant energy heading their way.

And as soon as he gets the chance, he calls it all back down, slamming the shimmering wave of pink right into the dragon's back.[break][break]

The Dragon Pulse is unleashed at first impact, its aim spectacularly affected as it fires off towards the distant floating rocks. For the first few seconds, Eris seems far more invested in the explosive force it produced, whistling as she stares at the remnants of the destroyed boulders. But with Reiner's bark for attention, she snaps back to reality (?), watching as the feathered Salamence begins to regain its balance.[break][break]

"I can see why Arceus kinda hates us now."[break][break]

A soft whistle gets the Luxray moving once more, summoning yet another Springtide Storm that rushes towards the dragon. This time, the swaths of petals wrap around the draconid, attempting to cut off any paths of escape it might aim to take.[break][break]

"You best aim good, Mister!"

He had prepared with his trusted Remoraid, and Cyclizar had prepared the moment that thing had begun. His motorbike shaped pokemon, Bubby, charged forward, like a crazed creature finally allowed into the throes of battle, a roar as he slashed at the far larger Dragon, his claws glowing with an intense blue glow as he delivered the strike to the top of the Salamence, and then another with the right arm.

”Get clear.” He shouted to Bubby, before he jumped off, he and Lucky were locked on, sniper set, and then finally; fired. The ice-beam that streaked across the space froze the air around it, wider, stronger than the usual burst, before it strike at the center of its forehead, a critical strike if he had ever seen it, a direct headshot.

It snorts in its slumber and she jumps higher than a Skitty scared by a cucumber, hissing as she scurries back behind her Luxray. With how she tries to hide away, only tufts of her messy hair and bits of her crimson glare can be seen.[break][break]

Jett smirked. ”Aye, we can let something eat ‘em away, or something.” He hoped for something, he wasn’t sure that a pizza monster able to eat a Salamence that was as weirdly shaped as this one would fall to a similar combination. Still, he crossed his arms and looked over the battlefield in front of him; the mist that surrounded them, and he couldn’t help but be a little bit concerned.

”Alright.” He said as he looked and began to turn around. ”The battle’s only going to grow thicker from here on out? How about we go and wake up.” Jett said as he looked around, it was most likely the mist that was causing the issue, not the one his Remoraid had made, but rather the one that permeated this strange space.

He took his pokeball, and put his ‘Lucky’ back, and there it came, he could feel a rumbling the moment he turned around; the strong smell of cheese, the charred scene of a stone-baked pizza, and the loud growl that accompanied that as it began to scarf something down.

”Basically, let’s get the hell outta here.” He looked to his cyclizar as he got onto him. ”I don’t wanna leave some kid in this dangerous place, I’ll show you the way out.”
