Jett said with a smirk as he hopped onto the ice bridge that they had made; it was solid, and well, slippery for sure, hopping on it feet first was a great mistake as he slipped onto his ass and found himself sliding down it at a pace he hadn’t expected to, there was no way for him to get a good grip, and it was only years of knowledge regarding balance and momentum that stopped him from sliding off the side and falling to a rather pitiful death.

But he did find himself sliding down at a pace, until they reached the very bottom where he found himself going right until he crashed unceremoniously into a large boulder, upside down and balancing on his shoulders, his glasses skewed just a little bit.

It was a good thing he wasn’t the one carrying Melody. He got up, dusted himself off, and adjusted his sunglasses, a short, shallow cough as if to pass off that moment as if it had never happened. ”Aye, all’s done now. Let’s head off.” It was a strange place, and he found himself ever more curious.

As they struggled through, only to reach a dead-end balcony, Jett couldn’t help but let loose a loud sigh, he didn’t have a flying type on hand, and it seemed like things going forward might just get tougher. Perhaps Cyclizar could have helped in some capacity…No, he recalled his Iron Valiant, and thought about it, if Melody was going to hold those things off, they had to figure something out.

But an idea did come to him, suddenly; as his hand hovered over Remoraid’s pokeball. ”We don’t gotta fly, we can just create a slide. How about it, a water type move, and someone else uses an Ice-type.” He said as he brought his Remoraid out, the pokemon seemed to catch on pretty fast as Jett pointed him over the balcony, at an angle.

Just as the music behind was getting more intense, it was a tense feeling; his heart was pumping, he felt excitement. And no-one had to get hurt for it…Well, maybe them, and those pokemon, sure it wasn’t all bright.

With the knowledge that there was a path out, they just had to wait just a little bit. He turned around, to watch Melody’s performance, and how it would end. The rusting pokemon didn’t fill him with warmth, but he wouldn’t mourn them. ”Ya sure look tuckered out, well; guess I can help with that.” As if to push aside the thoughts in his mind, he took off his leather jacket.

Countless bike journeys and accidents ran through his mind. ”Don’t wantcha getting hurt.” He said as he gripped both ends of his jacket, and began to spin it in his hands, tightening it while keeping the sleeves loose. He rolled the sleeves around to create a second ring, before tying and tightening them together. It was something that he did while younger, far more broke; and with many a people wanting rides on the back with no experience.

”Bit of a harness, should keep you close to someone else that ain’t tired, seems like a man’s job, but I don’t like jealous and angry fans, so I’ll leave it to ya.” He threw it over to Caleb. ”Hold ‘er close.”

Jett didn’t miss a beat, the person who responded…Looked rough. Not in the unkempt sense, but in that way any lover of bikes could recognize. His blue eyes concealed behind his dark shades looked up at the bike on the platform, well taken care of. ”Few too many journeys in rough areas with this ol’ lass.” He said as he slapped the seat of his bike, a voice filled with mirth.

”Got a bit of knocking in the engine, bet it’s the belt. Had the coolants running, kept it well oiled, only could’ve knocked the timing belt loose, that or the conrods.” He said as he put his hand against his neck, massaging away at it.

Listening wasn’t the same as understanding, Jett sometimes wondered about the likelihood of that, but moments such as this pressed that truth to him. Understanding wasn’t simple, and well, he wasn’t the smartest book in the locker, but in this case he really didn’t.

”What’s that supposed to even mean, so you’re saying that this was here the whole time, and no-one noticed until strong pokemon blasted it back to the past.” Well, maybe he did understand it.

”Couldn’t the opposite be true? That it was blasted to the future? This is the eventual fate of this town…” He thought about it for a little while; it settled, but at the same time it didn’t settle in. If that were true, then legendaries were truly ridiculous pokemon, on a whole other level.

Mauville was a changing city.

Jett glanced around, the cracked pavements were the same, the slight tinge of smoke in the air remained the same, the sound of engines roaring, that was the same.

But not the men who rode upon them, he hadn’t seen them before he had come back, but he had seen them now. Orthrus, a new gang that had come into his domain, his ci- No, he was beyond that. That feeling of ownership had gotten stronger, and so he tried to leave this city as much as possible.

But it was his home, the complaints of those who had once been his subordinates had gotten louder and louder. ”I really hate this.” Yet, more than all of that, the thing that annoyed him about the roars of those engines…

Was the motorbike that he dragged, he could ride upon it, but that knocking was too concerning, he looked into the garage that stood before him, his bike in tow, his expression neutral as he walked in.

”Heeey, anyone here? Got a serious knocking problem ‘ere.”

Jett couldn’t quite see a way out even in this place, they were trapped; these guys were immune to water, and he didn’t have any strong electric type pokemon on him, and well, these Volcanion were out. ”We might really be screwed here, at least our skeletons will have company.” He played off that fear with some grim humor, there was a fear there.

But just as the song of this place filled one with despair eventually, a song of hope might arrive too; a singular sign. A puzzle, and a song to distract those creatures, he dashed past them. ”Cover me.” He shouted to his Iron Valiant who trailed behind him, Jett slid forward towards the rusted Klinks.

They were placed all around, he didn’t know how gears could be used in this place but everyone else was battling hard, powerful song, a mega evolution, hot-blooded hand to hand, so he’d handle this. ”It sure is beginning to look like a transmission…Wait.” He stated as he put his hands to it, reordering them with a fair amount of effort, he put them into order, it would shift…Some level of gears.

”Alright…C’mon, c’mon, work…” He said as he placed the last one, they were rusted, and so he gave it a turn; hung onto the gear even as it grated against his finger, and pulled on it until it began to move, puzzle solved, the locked room was no longer sealed.

The beat of a drum that didn’t make sense, flowed to a different tune to that of his body, and forced both body and mind to move alongside it. His brain went numb, empty, blank, even though he could see, smell, hear, there was nothing beyond the point of processing…There was only rhythm. The Dance.

There was a marching, yet he couldn’t pay attention to it, as his limbs were locked, and then popped in order to relieve the tension…No, it wasn’t a simple tension, his legs spread apart, arms spread wide, as he poorly attempted what his body believed to be break dancing. A wave better suited to be called destructive rolled down his right arm, and the awkward pause that stood until it moved down his o-

Then he was back, his mind was working again, his sunglasses hid the fact he was looking from left to right, his mind in order once more. ”Ladies, and Gent, let’s pretend this never happened…” He said as he cracked his neck, a hand hovering over towards his pokeball as he looked onwards at the line of Volcanion…A species he had never seen, one he had no words for, no name for; and so he threw out the pokeball before he covered his ears.

”You’re up, Locust.” He said as he threw his pokeball forward, his Iron Valiant came into existence, she was a grumpy girl; an almost scalding look over her shoulder. ”Let’s spark it up, Electric Terrain.”

Jett paid close attention, after the little trip here he’d had with Melody, he found himself interested in this strange realm. A distraction perhaps, but it was still something he needed to put some focus on. It felt…Wrong, and yet he as if he had to find out just why it was bringing forward such a guttural feeling.

But he shook his head, to pay attention to the castle which surrounded them, his blue eyes scanned over the ground, at the bones, and other things he didn’t want to think too much about. ”Sure is grim though, no matter what they were tryna draw up. I wonder, if they’re still trying that now?”
[break][break]
He watched from the back of the group, his hands firmly placed into his pockets as he slowed down his pace some; as his foot made contact with the skull of some ape-like pokemon, he couldn’t tell which, but it was small. ”Were they tryna take pokemon souls as well? Or you think they were just collateral?” Jett asked as he leaned down to hold a head, only for the thumping of a beat to grow louder, and louder.

It was different, similar to the last time as he felt it trying to invade his body, there was a need, a need to move, a need to groove, a nee-

It was infectious in the worst way, as his qualms with this place, his dislike of what it stood for, and his interest in the mechanical aspects of this place, all of them blown away by this beat that forced him to stand up straight.

”Tch, could this place get any worse?”
