Bryan had been chosen to train with some of the newer recruits that showed promise. A man known as Kouji matsubara, apparently one who's addicted to fighting. bryan enjoyed a good brawl himself but he wanted to see how bloodthirsty the new class was. [break][break]

So he goes to the training facility and has several weapons laid out on a nearby table as he taps his foot, waiting for his student to show up.

He had his own knife? Bryan wasn't the type of teacher to give out extra credit. "I'm sure." he answers simply as he looks over at the other weapons as he walks over to the table and picks up a bow an arrow, reminding himself of simpler times. [break][break]

"Matsubara, right?" he asks as for some reason there was something about him he liked, the knife didn't give him extra credit but bryan certainly did like the initiative. "Do you think you can take me down? If you could, would you want my position?" he asks as he remains rather neutral and cold in his tone.

”Could I kill you? Sure, don’t think I can beat ya though. That means staying alive myself.” He said as he ran a hand through his hair as he observed the man across from him. His golden eyes looked over his form, washing it in for a moment, there was a difference in bulk, that was for sure. Kouji was strong, physically, and in a fight, but this was different.

He bounced on his heels, back and forth, reaching a rhythm; the beats of a song went off in his head, not one he would admit to listening to. ”And no, I ain’t got much going on in my head at the moment. Just wait though, give me a few months, and I’ll steal that position from ya.” He said with a smirk, he flicked his knife out, and held it in his hands.

”What about ya, want something if you win?” He said as he looked at the man in front of him, what made him tick?

Better to find out in movement, and so he dashed forward, lowering his center of gravity as his right leg slid forward, aiming to start before the call for start had begun.

An interesting reply. "I encourage you to try, if you do, then that means I'm successful." however he stays silent on what he means by it. [break][break]

"If I win. You work for me." he answers as he doesn't move when Kouji rushes towards him. He stands perfectly still, only keeping his eye on the weapon as he allows Kouji a minute to get as many hits in as he could before it was Bryan's turn. [break][break]

"Work for you?" he asks wondering how Kouji would react as he only moves to block the blade and allows Kouji to hit him with his fists and or legs. [break][break]

He had a minute and Bryan hoped that Kouji would make it count.

Kouji cracked his neck as he considered that; he spun the knife in his hand, and then nodded slowly. ”You’re one of my bosses anyway, but sure. I’ll work for ya if I lose.” He wasn’t that ambitious; but he didn’t want to stay a grunt for the rest of his life.

Being someone’s personal underling was a stopgate; a man became chained…Wait, that was a thought train he didn’t want to delve down into too deeply. His charge stopped, he leapt back; it was strange, but there wasn’t the reaction he expected. ”Alright, prepare yourself.” He spoke once more.

Kouji kept the smirk on his face as he circled his opponent, he was confident in his fighting, he was confident when it came to hurting, but had he ever faced a true professional before? He was a brawler, a good fighter, but was he a trained killer?

His golden eyes shot from the man’s armpits, his groin, his neck, his chest, all of them were guarded, his eyes locked to the bow and arrow as he slid his foot forward attempting to slid it between Bryan’s own, before trying to flick it outwards in order to unbalance him, a bow was hard than a one’s fist, he didn’t want to be hit with it, and so he went slash at it with his knife.

Bryan braces for impact, regardless of how often he was hurt he couldn't always get used to the pain. The blade slices into him, globs of blood drop to the floor and pool around him. [break][break]

He groans and moves back "You little fucker, that hurt." he says laughing and chuckling a bit as he uses his hand to try and stop some of the bleeding. He however doesn't move forward just yet, Kouji had another 30 seconds left before bryan would attack back. "That all you got though? C'mon, go for a lethal blow." [break][break]

He goads him to see just how thirsty this grunt was to grow.

He looked at the man across with him, he looked at him really for the first time; his eyes squinted, stopped in place and placed his arm by his side.

”No, the hell. I ain’t helping you out with a suicide, you ain’t even tryna protect yourself.” He said with a sigh, he rubbed the back of his head and looked down at the floor for a moment before he looked at the man again.

”Everything alright? I ain’t very reliable, but if you need to talk I’m here. Don’t need to hurt yourself in a fight.” He said as he waited up the time, he didn’t want to be part of some dudes self harm.

Also, he didn’t want to be killed for killing one of his bosses.

He tilted his head at Kouji "Sorry bud, it's gonna take a lot more than that to do me in." [break][break]

As the pool seeps underneath him, the buzzer times off and Bryan gives him a wicked grin. "Alright. My turn." he says as he cracks his neck and rolls his shoulders. "First lesson-", lowering his body and suddenly the pool of blood stops growing, the sections of his clothes that were ripped from the knife gave kouji a small preview of what was happening. His wounds began to close at an abnormal speed, as if a timelapse was occuring as kouji could see them already becoming scabs that began to vanish. [break][break]

He gives kouji no time to breath as he lunges forward toward him using an open palm fist to slam into Koji's stomach in an attempt to send him flying backwards. Not enough to really kill him or break a bone at least. "Never show an opponent kindness."

Kouji hadn’t expected the switch, his eyes had locked onto the rapidly closing wounds; it reminded him of Doug, that annoying man; the one that had caused him the most pain on the day of that battle.

So it was only natural that he found himself launched back, Bryan was bigger than him; sure Kouji was strong, but he was flung back regardless; forced to slide against the floor. The only thing that saved him was he remembered by instinct alone to slap his palms against the ground as hard as he could; to disperse the force of his crash against it.

It still didn’t do anything for the knocked air from his lungs, but he forced himself back onto his feet as fast as possible. ”Oi oi, the hell was tha- Goddamn it, you’re an Avatar.” He said as he brandished his knife, made sure to hold it tightly.
[break][break]
”Haaaa. Alright, this was exactly what I wanted. So you can heal yeah?” He said with an almost bloodthirsty smirk, his golden eyes brushed over the vulnerable points of a person.

So he dashed forward, a wide swipe that was made to miss on purpose; a downwards slash that immediately shot back up towards Bryan’s armpit, in an attempt to at least disable one arm. Just how fast could this person heal?

Typically when bryan had so massively overpowered someone, knocked the air out of their lungs, they have a moment of defeat. Despair washes over their face as they realize they lose. [break][break]

He was used to them not even trying to figure out his weaknesses he was well aware of, a privilege that Zev Harcourt knew as the one who could resist his blows. [break][break]

However, this guy, he was different instead of despairing he seemed almost ecstatic? "I can do more than that."
he replies as their expressions now matched, feral, hungry, starved of violence as he rushes towards Bryan again. He doesn't move again, as soon as Kouji agreed to the fight he knew kouji would lose. But that was the point, he wanted to test and see how long it was before Kouji got tired and stopped, he needed to build up his influence in rocket, he needed people who were hungry, ones he could manipulate for his own purposes and mold them into his personal little crew. [break][break]

He refused to starve. [break][break]

Kouji would see very little resistance from bryan at first, allowing the man to slash at him again as he repsonds during the attack "I can do more than just heal, It's more what I can't do." he says as his free hand that wasn't disabled anymore and grabs kouji by his clothes with his one arm. [break][break]

"I cant die." he says almost with a condescending whisper as he slams kouji down onto the floor with his strength.

The air was knocked out of him again, his back impacted against the ground, so this man couldn’t die? He wouldn’t be killed; it only brought the excitement he felt upwards as he attempted to stab his knife into the arm of the man in front of him, and gripped onto it tightly.

It was an action done in order to hook his knife into the arm, even as he struggled to pull air into his lungs, it wasn’t the first time his lungs were emptied, and it wouldn’t be the last, even for just this spar. The man across from him couldn’t be killed, nor brought down, at least as far as he was told.
[break][break]
It was why he went to pull it free, to slide it down the length of Bryan’s arm as he rolled away, out of his grip. ”Why haven’t you taken over a region or something yet? A guy who can’t be killed, can’t be stopped. Y’know? It’s one of them avatar powers, ain’t the human usually the weakness of those kinda partnerships.” Kouji said with a chuckle, it was so ridiculous it was hard to believe. The other man, Doug, was able to heal.

”There’s gotta be a way to stop ya, right?” He said as he pulled in a deep breath of air, but that just made his back hurt more…It was bruised, but was it his muscles, or his spine?
