Jett listened to Melody’s words, letting them sink in; a sedative, even in this fall; he couldn’t think of it as anything else? Nor anything more. He had no point of comparison, even as the mechanical song that beat in this kingdom both moved and stopped things from moving as they wished.

”None of these places make sense do they? Deep sea was strange, like being able to breath beneath the sea; but there was little to find except our own dreams. Here it’s different. Is it a darn dream? Or is it sum’else?” He didn’t explain why he ran off as Cyclizar’s feet finally touched the ground with a small crash, Jett patted the top of Bubby’s head, as he made a wordless growl.

”Just concentrating on myself for a while, think of it like…A bad break up.” He said with a shrug, he didn’t want to delve into what happened in that place anymore, the looks, how others viewed him, the fact he was still concerned about that made him sick. But more than that, the actions he had taken were the worst.

”You know this place well, how many times have you been here?” It didn’t seem like just a passing fancy, or passing knowledge, that was just the feel that Jett was getting from her.

He let out a scoff as he heard that title, that word, second hoenn; it was accurate but also couldn’t be further from the truth. ”They’re not dealing with region defining events every weekend at least.” The rain began, it was a simple squall, a natural weather phenomenon.

”Around the same time, maybe a little before.” He said as he cracked his neck, getting ready; it was something that’d be difficult to stop. But he had to at least stop himself, but there was no warning as a wave of water washed in; destroying homes at the very edge of the town; a water spout to those more experienced, but just as soon as the cannon that was at the water’s edge showed itself, it disappeared, a puff of light.

It was a dream, teleport wouldn’t work the same way, and so Jett had gotten to walking, stepping forward to where it was.

”We can still get hurt here, so follow me.” Yet, he turned away from the buildings his own pokemon had destroyed.

The blonde looked at the pinkette with a raised eyebrow, a subtle smile danced across his lips for a moment. ”If I could beat an idol in a dance off, I’m not sure she should be an idol.”

Yet, this world was strange, being pulled along, following along; he saw it, the music in the back, there was something strange to it; he felt it slipping into his skin, into his blood, his muscles, his bones, and yet a singular tone protected from all of it. "I'll pass, I'd like to keep both ladies and gents away from me for a while."

He gave a small nod to the Kricketot that had saved him.

”This is…” He looked over the expanse, his breath was taken away, not from the beauty of it. He was a gear head, a spanner and ratchet lived in his hands, and yet this wasn’t what he sought, it wasn’t a goal.

”This place lacks a heart.” It was a singular statement, but it was the first impression he got. It was too mechanical, there was a lack of breath, there was a lack of ‘life’, yet it was mechanical life that filled it.

”You’re up.” He said as he brought out his Cyclizar, the vehicle like dragon let out a chirrup from the mic wrapped around his throat. ”Let’s ride” Even if it was the edge of a cliff, he was confident in Cyclizar, it was the kind of adrenaline rush he lived for. He waited, and then he rode off the cliff edge.

”Were you in it?” Jett tried to joke past it, and avoid talking about the elephant in the room, just what the hell this place coulda been, what it shoulda been.

”It’s Alola, spent a couple years here during my criminal stint, I ain’t tryna hide nothing, but this is as bad as I got, so get ready. If I show up, I ain’t gonna play fair.” Jett couldn’t try to hide that fact, it was a beach raid.

His bloodiest day perhaps, ruthless even, he couldn’t hide the things he had done here, not from Kyle.

”It gets messy, disgusting, but I know you ain’t got a weak stomach.” And that was the moment that the clouds started to come in, and Jett began to clench his eyes tightly as if warding away what was to come.

Instead.

”You ever been to Alola? The cruelty in this region is as dark as any.”

Jett nodded slowly.

”I’ll be fine, use Quick Attack and Leap.” Rapidash was a fast mount, exceptionally fast even, he felt the sudden acceleration and the leap; the pressure that was attempting to make him dismount from the back of the pokemon.

But he barely hit on as the space was cleared, the fire flared for a moment before he shook his head and patted the head of the pokemon. ”Well done.” He said to the Rapidash, a soft smile on his face for a moment before he looked back to Lucas.

That was the soft buzzing in the distance.
[break][break]
”Let’s start a trot, and we’ll move into a gallop.” He said as Rapidash began to adjust to the movement of the reigns. ”Equestrian is how you move, not just the reigns, how you move, you use the saddle footrests to push yourself up in time with each trot.”

Jett looked at his Rapidash, and the Mudsdale.

”Jett Roan.” He said with a nod, before he patted the head of the Rapidash, he could agree with the plan. ”You’ve got experience then, even if it ain’t horses.” He said as he looked around for a moment, watching the landscape, taking in the surroundings.

”We’ll take the left path then, if we have to take one, then let’s take the harder one. By the time we get their pace and footing up, we’ll be on even ground.” Jett agreed without putting into words.

”We’re good to go, set the pace. I’ll try to match yours, and then we’ll get to the heavy part.”

Yet, it seemed that the path he had chosen had a river up ahead.

You stood there for a moment as the click went, the expected spurt of blood did not come, and neither did the pain of being shot. Neither result happened, and yet you were flattened by the idea; to end oneself with no hesitation, there was a willpower there that surpassed your own…Even using the same word was pointless, yours was a mere hope, and yet the girl who you were staring at, she had an absolute certainty.

There should have been no difference.

Yet, you wanted to shout, let the growl roll into your voice, to reject her actions, her words, her everything.

”I..I…I…” Yet, even your stuttering was just a confirmation of her words, of her statements, of that certainty that was being proven true by every word. You looked at her, and yet at the same time, you couldn’t…Because even the words that tried to come to your tongue was just a matter of selfishness.

Selfish, worthless, pointless, an unrepetant killer.
[break][break]
What did the old you die for? What did she die for? What did you do anything for?

”I…Don’t…” You looked at your revolver, you could prove it here and now, you jumped onto it, gripped it in your hand, and pointed it your throat, you could do it now, prove her wrong in a singular moment.

”I can do it…” Yet, you couldn’t place weight on the trigger, how do you force yourself beyond that wall?
[break][break]
”You’re wrong…”
[break][break]
You were wrong.

The clattering gun was the final gavel.

Jett nodded slowly; a world of machines huh? Souls of those that were taken?

This was an entirely different beast to the other world, a different place that ran on different rules, it was a messed up thought, and yet at the same time he wanted to see if his mental image managed to match the truth.

”Aye, I want to see it. This place seems like a problem, and I want to prepare for these realms…Never know when you’ll have to rescue a Skitty from one.” He said with a crooked smile, a half chuckle broke out between words.

”Just don’t expect my dancing to be good if I end up doing so.” He said as he dropped his shades back onto his nose, to cover those cold eyes again.

Jett looked over the hole, the large hole that led to another place, it pulsed, and it was deep; but beyond that he didn't know anything else about it. One of those primal rifts, openings to another realm, not long ago he had been to another, and yet he here was making himself stand in front of one more. Just riding around Hoenn and yet, he had decided to stop here, to tell the rest to go on.

His mood was dour, and yet he tried to cover it with his calm cover, he drew up his sunglasses, his small; yet cold looking eyes looked at the hole once more. ”You’re the expert, know what this is?” He had called someone who he hoped was far more experienced in these than he was.

His mind had initially gone for kyle lopez, but after running around his own past with that man, he wanted a bit of space; the kind of man he was, the kind of person he’d been, he didn’t want the risk of that popping up. So, he had called Melody Miro instead. Perhaps it was his mind looking to make up for his sins in one primal rift, he'd go into another.

”So, this is one of them there rifts huh? I doubt it's that one we saw in Dewford, what kinda messed up world is hiding in this one?" He said as he dropped a coin, and yet he couldn't hear it land. "This was the place being fought for huh?"

A Rapidash, the flames licked away from him; and yet he felt comfortable beyond belief, it was natural to ride on another pokemon; to adjust his weight, to move in tune, to play to the beat, and yet at the same time.

”Sorry I’m late.” He said as he ran a hand through his hair, the saddle protected him from the worst of the heat; but he felt the droplets of sweat drip down his brow. ”A training plan huh? You got anything in mind? Experience in riding mons?”

”I ain’t much for formal stuff, so we’ll have these guys run into some wild’uns, and then we’ll use that to make them feel on edge while we race, I’ll cover your back.” Jett’s voice was even, level, not as friendly as his usual, his mind whirred.

Did he deserve to sit here in this saddle? Even after he had killed again?

”He birthed the present me.” The words naturally flowed from your mouth; you knew what you wished for in the future, but at the same time, that wish was not something you could truly chase. Not until those sins were paid for, not until the moment you became the person who had saved you.

Yet the fact that this brat understood, you knew that it was a kinship of sorts, even if it might have been of the worst kind. You didn’t need to know either, and so the question never once left your mouth, you looked at her for a moment; a raised eyebrow before you shook your head. Your eyes went to your feet for a moment, and then you clasped the gun even tighter, before you threw it on over.

There were no words said, nothing needed to be said, and so you gave the right of holding a gun to another. Not to see what she would do, but rather to see just what kind of person you would be under that barrel.

It was not a test, you were certain of the result, and yet at the same time; you wanted it to be different; if the urge, that black ichor, if you were to be shot; would that pour out of you? Would being shot cause it to flow through someone else?

”I’m selfish like that.”
[break][break]
The thoughts and words you did not want to word, yet, like the dam that had cracked, words flowed naturally like water.
