As Thomas and Kalameet approached the land, a cool Mist would form over the area. Thomas would begin to signal to his Hydreigon to slow down, and proceed with caution. Thomas would peer through the thick mist as best he could, looking out for any signs of attack. Suddenly, an Avalanche would fall down towards them. Thomas signaled his Hydreigon to speed up, just barely escaping the attack. Thomas would continue to look through the mist, hoping to identify the attacker.

As Thomas arrived on land, the cave suddenly erupted into a violent Hail. The braced himself as best he could, before proceeding onto the patch of land. Suddenly, a volley of Icicle Spears would shoot out from the hail, aimed at the trainer. Thomas, just barely seeing them coming, managed to dive to the side, narrowly avoiding the spears flying at him. Thomas then began crawling around, hoping that he'd be able to identify the position from which the aggressor was.

Grabbing a Pokeball to have at the ready, Thomas stood up, attempting to bait out the wild Pokemon. And sure enough, another volley of Icicle Spears would sail towards him, prompting Thomas to hit the deck. From a prone position, Thomas tossed the Pokeball in the direction the Icicle Spears were coming from. From the Pokeball emerged a large Scizor. The Vanillish turned towards the insect, attempting to gore it with Icicle Spears.

Ripper met each of these Icicles with a Bullet Punch, easily shattering them with his steely pincers, before throwing a Bullet Punch towards the Ice-type, quickly closing the distance, and striking the creature. With another Bullet Punch thrown for good measure, the Vanillish was brought down, collapsing on the ground. It was then that the mist cleared up, and Thomas got back to his feet, looking around for Ripper and Kalameet.

"Ripper? Kalameet? You two okay?", Thomas called out.

Kalameet would be the first to hover over, having miraculously emerged unscathed. Ripper would soon join them, a grin on his face.

"Good, now let's keep moving."

As soon as Ripper regrouped with Thomas and Kalameet, the trio would press on through the cave. Specifically, Kalameet would hover along the water's edge, ready to ferry Thomas through the waters, should he need to access another patch of land, or get the hell out of the area. Ripper stood by his master, on guard for any other Pokemon that would attempt to attack the group.

And sure enough, an Aurora Beam shot out towards Thomas. Ripper would step in front of Thomas, taking the attack. Ripper took a stance, and grunted as the ice cold, multi-colored beam struck his body. Thanks to his armor, the attack didn't do much to phase him. What Ripper was, more so than anything, was annoyed. Annoyed that this fat, disgusting creature would attempt to attack his master. He had to teach it some manners!

Ripper would begin charging the creature, closing the gap between them by throwing a Bullet Punch, before following it up with a Brick Breaking strike, aimed at the top of its head. The Walrein cried out in pain as the pincer struck down on top of her head. In retaliation, she bit down on the Scizor, her fangs becoming frosted and ice cold before attempting to clamp down on his armor. The attack barely formed a dent in the armor of the insect, despite the menacing tusks of the beast.

Ripper would retaliate by throwing another Bullet Punch at her head, then following up with yet another downward Brick Break. The two hits, along with the previous one from earlier, were too much for the wild Walrein to handle, causing the creature to let out a groan, before dropping to the ground. Though she survived, and her injuries wouldn't kill or cause permanent damage, the Walrein's injuries caused blood to pour down her head.

"Good job, Ripper!", Thomas called out from afar.

The moment of peace would be interrupted when an Avalanche fell down towards Thomas, Ripper would immediately push Thomas out of the way of the attack, and braced himself with Iron Defense. Soon after Thomas was pushed out of the way, the avalanche had consumed the Scizor, in place of his master. But rather than panic at the sight of his Scizor being buried under an avalanche, Thomas would just watch and wait. And sure enough, Ripper would emerge from the fallen snow, more pissed off than hurt.

The Bergmite, upon seeing her foe emerge from the Avalanche, sharpened her body, before rolling at the Scizor in an Ice Ball. While the attack was slow, and could easily be dodged, Ripper instead remained in place, letting the Ice-type roll into him. The attack would barely phase his armor, and only allowed him to retaliate with a Bullet Punch, sending the creature rolling back. The Bergmite cried out as she attempted to prevent herself from falling into the water, just barely being able to steer herself in time. But before she could roll back to the Scizor to get another potshot in, Ripper lunged at her with another Bullet Punch. This time, the attack knocked her over to her side.

The Bergmite's tiny limbs would flail around before she finally blacked out, seemingly knocked unconscious by the Scizor's steely pincers.

"You okay?", Thomas asked Ripper. The Scizor would give a proud pincer pump into the air to signify that he was not only okay, but satisfied with the battles for the day. "Good shit.", Thomas replied with a grin, getting up and getting close to the Bergmite's fallen form. After a moment of consideration, Thomas tapped the seemingly unconscious creature with a vacant Pokeball, and would cross his fingers.
