It seemed that Elinor liked the caramels - and Makoto couldn't help the faint smile they had in response. Though, it was also for this reason that they were thankful for Kuro's illusions aiding in maintaining a passive expression on the surface.

Once Kuro was busy snacking on its caramel, Makoto fully stood once more - glancing over to Elinor. "How much did it help?" They questioned - and after a moment's thought... They'd quietly offer a few more caramels to Elinor.

To have sweets like this was probably a comfort of some kind, even if it wasn't a perfect balm to everything that was haunting Elinor. Maybe, as long as the two of them kept quiet, noone needed to know of this kindness; for as much as Makoto would deny that they were doing it out of any sort of altruism. Surely, they were just doing this to solve the problem before them.

But either way, once the caramels went where they needed to... Makoto would turn towards the door - making to leave once more. "..." They wanted to say something - to provide some form of encouragement, or to even ask a question. But when nothing that felt appropriate for this situation came to mind, well...

... Unless Elinor tried to speak to them, they'd simply leave. They exited the cell - closing the door behind them - to depart; empty tray and ghostly fox in tow.
