And just like that, one of the Rookidee veered off from the flock and came downward to strike at Sven and his Fuecoco. While the wild bird moved in with a Peck, Sven rolled out of the way and ordered his Fuecoco to folow his moves. The two seemed to be in perfect sync with one another, as though they could read what the other was about to do. The Fuecoco jumped back, ready to use Fire Blast against the bird, but it soon stopped as though it could sense that Sven had no intention to harm the bird.

The fire croc looked back at its trainer and tilted its head curiously. Was he sure? Sven gave a nod and reached into his pocket. He had a half-eaten granola bar that perhaps the Rookidee had managed to sniff out. After he broke it up, he gave a piece to the wild Rookidee and put the rest back into the wrapper. He gave it to the Rookidee itself and ushered the bird to fly back into the sky with its flock.

"Make sure to share that with your buddies!" Sven called out as he waved.

Sure, he missed the opportunity to catch an admittedly impressive bird, but he figured that there were more surprises out there in the safari. Sven knelt down and gave the Fuecoco a pat on the head before he took a piece of granola he'd kept aside and tossed it into Chomper's gaping maw. Satisfied with the little treat, the two ventured on.

Although the Rookidee had chosen to fly off and avoid further confrontation, although there wasn't much confronting to begin with, the tusked dragon came next. Sven looked at it in pleasant surprise. Admittedly dragons were quite a sight to behold, naturally he seemed absolutely pleased to find an Axew. However the small dragon didn't seem anywhere near as pleased to see him. The creature charged forward to make its attack, but much like the situation with the Rookidee, Sven found that his Fuecoco moved in tandem with him, quick to evade the Axew's attack. However the dragon moved a bit quicker and sent the fire croc flying back. Sven made a dive to catch the injured Fuecoco and helped it back to its feet.

"C'mon, let's strike it down with a Snarl!"

The crocodile was happy to oblige as it took a sharp inhale and allowed it to build up into a deep rumble in its chest that soon shot out at the Axew. With the creature momentarily stunned from the attack, Sven drew his arm back and shot a safari ball right at the dragon. It'd fit in well enough with the rest of his collection.

With the Axew secure, Sven took it as a small victory and jogged over to the ball. Though as he reached out, a Nincada popped its way from beneath the ground as it used Dig. It was quick to snag the ball before Sven could even grasp it, to which he gestured his Fuecoco forward. The fire croc made haste to scuttle over to the Nincada. If they could avoid it, there was no need to attack any of these pokemon so they could preserve the nature of the safari zone. As the pokemon chattered about with one another, it seemed the Fuecoco managed to convince the Nincada to return the safari ball to the pair. Although the chances that he'd encounter another shiny were slim, he figured that it would be best to try his luck further into the safari zone. The Fuecoco gave the Nincada a pat on its head to wish it goodbye as it burrowed itself once more, and the croc scuttled over with the safari ball which held the Axew from the previous catch.

"Thanks, Chomper, you've got quite a knack for convincing other pokemon!" he grinned as he put the Axew's ball in his bag.

It took them a little bit of a trek, but they finally came across a new pokemon. Ahh, the Farfetch'd looked so cool! Almost like a fighter of sorts! Did he really want to take the chance with this pokemon? It looked different from the ones he'd seen elsewhere, but alas... Wait, wait, now he remembered! That type was particular to Galar! Sven practically charged forward, fueled by excitement.

"Let's go, Chomper! Use incinerate!"

The Fuecoco stumbled after him but was happy to oblige as it took to battle with the Farfetch'd. After a bit of back and forth, the blonde was quick to snap another pokeball to attempt and snag the Galarian bird.

Sven stepped forward and picked up the safari ball. As he turned back to look at Chomper, he noticed that the Fuecoco was frozen in place. Before he could speak, a Honedge launched itself from his Fuecoco's shadow and cut the unsuspecting croc. The Fuecoco stumbled forward a bit and seemed quick to brush off the attack. Out of anger, the Fuecoco whipped around and charged up an attack. Before Sven would interject, the croc used Incinerate on the Honedge, taking it out in one strike. He could only sigh as he walked over to the Fuecoco and looked at it to make sure it was still able to go on.

"Hey, we said we wouldn't hurt any of the pokemon here," he chided. "But are you ok? We'll get you taken care of once we're out of here. You just rest easy for now."

The Fuecoco gave a happy little chitter as it returned to its ball. For now, Sven figured he'd give his Cranidos some time to shine.

"Let's go, Zircon!"

Although his Cranidos was one of his stronger recruits, it seemed the Tinkatink that sprung out to swing at the poor rock-type had the advantage. Unfortunately the rock pokemon wasn't quick enough to dodge the attack, so it suffered a heavy blow. It soon retaliated with a Zen Headbutt, that sent the pink creature toddling back in an attempt to poorly catch its balance. Thankfully it had been enough to stun the creature, to which Sven threw his final ball in an attempt to catch the creature.
