[attr="class","sam-banner-up-blurb"]He was gonna figure out how to endear this big ol’ moth to him if it was the last thing he did! Maybe he should’ve asked Ikarus Rook to come along… he was way better with Pokémon in Lam’s opinion.

He could make even some of the more reluctant Pokémon warm up to him.

Lam usually only sort of had that talent with his feathered friends. And even though the slither wing was able to fly like one of his birds and did listen to his instruction…it was still avoidant of any positive connection.

Its mandibles clicked irritably as they wandered Petalburg woods—one of the unblighted sections, anyway. Sunlight dappled the creature’s golden wings as Lam let it inspect the area. Maybe it just didn’t like the last route they’d been on. Maybe the forest would be more appealing?

“Oop, not in a good mood today, huh buddy?” Lam asked as he immediately pulled his bag around to start digging for the litany of treats he’d randomly shoved in there that morning. If berries hadn’t worked the last time, surely something else would…

A shrill coo hummed from the behemoth as its sights set upon a hapless steenee. Before the poor lil plant could scurry away, a low sweep sent it rolling off, having its legs swept out from under it.

“Okay, okay. Kind of a bully when you’re hangry,” Lam muttered as he threw out some poffins in the massive bugs direction. They were swiftly ignored and left to the wildlife. Alright, next snack…

[attr="class","sam-banner-up-blurb"]A weezing was next in the slither wing’s warpath. It charged the poor, noxious creature with a furor—looking to thrash as it crashed into the other Pokémon. Frantically, Lam threw a pokeball at the weezing to help the poor fella out.

“alllllright, moth man. Time to chill,” he chirped at it as the slither wing whirled on him. He tossed out the first snack in his bag that his hand found. A container of cheese puffs. It popped open as it hit the ground. Unlike the other rejected snacks, the moth trilled as it greedily inhaled the treat. “Huh. How ‘bout that.” of all things…cheese puffs. Lam could work with that.

Something made more clear as the creature thudded forward, fuzzy head nudging at the bag for more. “Yeah, we’ll get more on the way back, dude.” Tentatively, his hand reached out to successfully pat the slither wing for the first time.
