Mauville city was big. Much bigger than he was use to. Then again for the past seven years he had avoided going anywhere where he might run into people. And Pyrite wasn’t exactly known for being large. So yeah being in a place so big was a new experience to him.

He did have this to say about Mauville though. With there being so many people it was easy to get lost in the crowd. He could just blend in. No one he had passed had given him a second glance. Then again no one around her would know that kind of person he was. But even then he had seemed to draw attention in a few of the other regions despite never doing anything in those places to warrant any attention. Not that he could think of anyway.

So being able to move about with his moves being scrutinized was a nice change of place. It would make it easy to succeed in what he had come to Hoenn to accomplish. He just wasn’t sure where to start. Asking around about Team Rocket didn’t seem like the best idea. There were a lot of people who opposed them. And he couldn’t just expect to run into someone from Team Rocket.

Perhaps he could disguise it as wanting to know who he should watch out for. Hmmm no that seemed to simple. Could he maybe go around asking people about a job and gauge the kind of person they were while they interacted. That didn’t seem like it would work either considering the fact he wasn’t the best when it came to emotions.

Disguising as information gathering seemed like it would be his best bet. But he would have to be subtle. A few people he tried to stop but they seemed to be too much in a hurry to really chat. It didn’t face him though and he decided to keep trying until he found someone willing to chat.

It seemed he had hit some luck. The next person seemed more than willing to talk. Or to at least hear him out. And that was all he could ask for. For someone at least willing to hear him out.

It would definitely be nice if he could get a read on him. Though he knew it would be hard to do so. After all he had never been the best when it came to emotions. If hd wasn’t good at expressing them how could he be good at reading them.

His own inability to really express emotions made him a hard read. Though if one were to look closely enough they would be able to determine a lot about him. He couldn’t get a read on him. His expression gave nothing away. Of course Ryker didn’t have any room to talk. Showing his own emotions wasn’t something he was exactly known for. And if he did show emotions they weren’t his own. They were fake emotions since he could at least do that. But he had to be able to tell the kind of person someone was to do it.

Now that was a good question. He couldn’t just blurt out that he was looking to know more about Team Rocket. There had to be a way to ask without really asking about Team Rocket. Then he remembered something he had heard in passing once not long after he had come to Hoenn before he had decided to keep to the woods or caves to avoid people.

The league. So they were the ones who opposed Team Rocket. At least that’s what he figured. He had heard enough about Team Rocket to know that if they didn’t have someone to oppose them they would completely take over a place. And since he had heard nothing of Team Rocket completely and taking over Hoenn he had assumed that it was because there were people getting in their way and preventing them from doing that.

But everything had paled in comparison to Rocket so he hadn’t known who would be the ones opposing Team Rocket until now. He made a note of that. Made a note that he would have to keep an eye on this League. That is if he was able to find his place among Team Rocket.

”Team Rocket,” he said without missing a beat, his expression giving nothing away of how he felt or of his earlier thoughts. With how much reaction he gave one would think they were discussing the weather and not the joining of a crime syndicate. Since he wasn’t trying to stab him and was trying to see why he wanted to join he could only assume that he was a member of Team Rocket. It must be luck that he had managed to stumble upon a Team Rocket member already. Things didn’t really work that way. But he wasn’t about to question things.

Power, he supposed, was a kind of vague answer. Anyone could seek power, and it didn't have to be through illegal means either. But most people didn't make it their mission to seek out power. To be honest, he wasn't the type to do so either. However, he had been taught that power was how anyone got anywhere in life, and he still believed that to be true.
