This place again…

Gerald looked unamused. But perhaps that was just because of the company he was forced to keep this time?

Still, for all his disdain and dislike, it seemed fate had decided that the brute and the futuristic-scientist worked well enough together?

The speakers on his cell-phone began to transmit the mysterious distorted cries of disjointed melodies just as they had before. The more he listened though, the more he noticed voices that didn’t seem quite human.

Yet he didn’t look at his cell-phone instead his gaze was fixed at the darkness ahead. Alongside the the melodies and the voice it held an alluring pull.

Gerald was definitely tempted to check it out.

The voices crackle through the speakers with a frightening intensity, reverberating in her ears and whispering dark secrets in languages no man alive has ever spoken. It was only natural considering how the one who spoke could never be considered human in the first place.

Gerald and Xenon are of one mind as they trudge deeper into the shadows in pursuit of the secrets within, there's nothing more to be said as they're corrupted by the pull of the distorted mind, or perhaps they were always that corrupt to begin with. Gerald made his way through the darkness, or at least he tried. But while he felt his feet meeting the ground, and his body pushing forward the lack of visuals made it so he might as well have been standing still.

For a moment there was only the darkness and the echoing footsteps of Xenon. Then Sclera, white and blinking appeared.

They unnerved him, but he allowed only a gulp to emerge, before he found himself slammed against the dusty stone walls. He felt his back sliding down as whatever force had slammed him receded before words flooded his mind. He tried to understand them, he tried as best he could, and though some words made sense others made none.

And all while a small voice in his mind was screaming one thing.

RUN

And he did. He forced his way through the sclera creatures, with no way of knowing where exactly he would go after.

It feels like they walk for hours through the darkness, there's no way to know how long this goes as she puts one foot in front of the other into the abyss. The only way she knows she's moving is that stopping means Gerald would move on ahead, otherwise she might as well just be walking in place as they trudge further into the depths of the unknown.

Unknown. Unnown. Unown. Unblinking white eyes stare into her soul one by one, the alien voices scream back to life as her body is picked up and thrown like a ragdoll, pinned to the surface by an invisible hand that threatens to crush the life from her body as it screams of running. Or was that her screaming? The letters combine into an indecipherable lexicon of babel within her mind, choice words picked out as she finds herself dropping back to the floor and running, running as fast as she can, as hard as she can, running running running runningrunningrunningrunningrunning-

Beneath you, the tatami flooring is scuffed and gouged from the battle that has been waged here. The simulation sets the Rocket Boss as a hostile figure.[break][break]

He says to you: "fuschia has already fallen. nothing you accomplish here will be of any worth."[break][break]

Should you attempt to step toward him, you'll knock into an invisible wall: an intriguing puzzle for gym challengers, but a frustrating conundrum for those attempting to engage with him.[break][break]

"i'll strike you down before you can even perceive the real me."[break][break]

Suddenly, Walsh disappears. Throughout the gym, multiple "Walshes" appear behind invisible walls. Periodically, he will lunge from a secret space with his GLISCOR, NIDOKING, &/OR HYPNO to attempt to slay you and your Pokemon.

The simulation changed. No longer were Gerald caught within the confines of Darkness and Unown. Instead it had all been exchanged with tatami flooring in a well lit room. For a moment he looked around and noted imagery that suggested it might’ve been a former Gym they were in.

But what was important was what stood before his eyes. Declan Walsh. One look was all it took for him to deduce hostility. At first he considered engaging the man in single combat. He felt fairly confident he could take him in a fist fight. But as he moved closer he found an invisible barrier blocking him.

Before he could do anymore Declan Walsh disappeared only to appear periodically in different places. He summoned Pokemon to fight them, and Gerald would respond in kind. An Infernape was sent onto the field, but as the battle would begin and the flaming fighting monkey would attempt to attack Declan Walsh, it would find itself encounmbered by invisible barriers and the full force of a Hypno.

And the Hypno was enough. Gerald’s Pokemon was defeated.

He was defeated.

And when the running stops, the world blurs and shifts around her. She runs face first into some kind of invisible wall as some know it all starts bragging about Fushia has fallen and everything is inevitable and blah blah blah. This was one of those kinds of guys who just liked to listen to themselves talk, the kind of guy who really ticked Xenon off and made her want to kick the shit out of them.

Ah, but the invisible walls were meant to prevent just that kind of thing huh? What a narcissist.

Battle is inevitable as Xenon summons Argon to the forefront, but defeat is just as inevitable as a dozen different Walshes attack from all angles. She doesn't have the time to properly analyze this battlefield and determine a plan of attack, not when she's being pressured by a god damn Nidoking raging about and no clue which way was up as she constantly bumps into invisible walls turning her around every which way.

Radon throws out every trick under his belt and finds every single attack rebuffed, all it takes is a few Drill Runs to put the Gengar down before Xenon even has the chance to try out her fancy new toys. She was outplayed from the jump, fate had it out from her from second one. What a fucking joke.
