"The target," Came the rumbling basso of Alphonse's voice, tinged with a smoker's gravel. "Is an ex-associate of Silas Blackwell. Apparently she was fairly high-up in the power structure. He trusted her to run a lot of fronts that seemed perfectly legitimate to authorities."[break][break]

Half-lidded eyes belied Al's boredom as he looked from the report over to the man across from him. The black sedan glided smoothly along the roads that made up the industrial area of a shipping yard. Alphonse was seated in the back - and Ryker was of course free to sit beside the big man - or else in the passenger seat in front. It didn't really matter to Alphonse - but he handed over the manilla folder which contained details of their target. It had been Al's "Minutemen" who had tracked this old Team Rocket member down. Al was a man of few words - but he did speak when he felt there was something to say.[break][break]

"Her name is Jezebel Crane. She had the chance to get out of town when Blackwell got eighty-sixed. And she could have reported to The Boss - but she's continued to run her business fronts on the side. And she's used Team Rocket's name to instill cooperation among her rivals and business partners alike. Amateur."[break][break]

There was distaste in Alphonse's voice - he was a mob boss in his own right, back in Kalos. And he couldn't stand when someone was like Miss Crane. He never was surprised that criminal types were ambitious and selfish - but he hated when they were sloppy. And this lovely lady had gone around bragging about her connections to Team Rocket even after refusing to swear loyalty to the new boss. Al understood why he had these assassination orders - they hadn't taken long to arrive once Al had turned in his intelligence on the woman. And now - as the sedan weaved calmly this way and that though the dark, drizzling night - Al fell silent.[break][break]

He assumed the assassin would have his own input - maybe even his own plan.[break][break]

Soon the car would reach its destination - a small warehouse not a block away from where Miss Crane had set up her most recent shop in Pokémon smuggling.

Riding in the back of a black sedan with Alphonse, a fellow rocket. The older male wasn’t someone he knew very well. Not that that was to surprising. He hadn’t been a member of Rocket long and was still trying to learn who was who. And usually how that happened was doing an assignment with someone.

Speaking of assignments that was currently what he was doing now. Like always his assignment had to do with assassinating something. Which considering he was an assassin by trade was a given.

He listened intently to what the older male had to say. Committing it all to memory. Him taking out someone who worked with the former rocket was new. It wasn’t something he had to do. But if she wouldn’t commit to the new rocket superiors and still used the name of Rocket for her knew agenda than he could understand why they had been tasked with this.

No one made a fool of Rocket. She would learn from her mistakes one way or another. And that was where him and Alphonse came in. They would take her out. Perhaps use her death as an example to those who wished to oppose them. Especially if they like her had worked for the old rocket and hadn’t committed to the new rocket.

To be honest he wasn’t sure amateur was the right world. Not if the old boss of Team Rocket had trusted her to such an extent. This was probably more of a case of her letting her old position go to her head. And of course once that happened people became careless and would make mistakes left and ride.

Looking through her file didn’t take long. It didn’t really have much of anything that he hadn’t been able to figure out by the explanation that Alphonse had given him. ”She’s arrogant probably why she’s made such noticeable mistakes as she has. For one who thinks as highly of herself as she does, she just can’t help to brag,” he said his expression given nothing away.

Alphonse did not grin like a Sharpedo nor offer a friendly smile. His expression betrayed as little about his thoughts and feelings as Ryker's voice did himself. But one, subtle change was visible upon Alphonse Gambino's face: his left eyebrow raised slightly. It was a sign of curiosity and interest - but nothing so important as so waste words upon. He only looked away from Ryker - he was not Alphonse Gambino this night. He was Minuit, "Midnight" - the mob boss of Revocs and Team Rocket's newest associate. If he managed to get this mission done without botching the job - well, a hot tip had come his way. Supposedly there had been a spate of recent pirate attacks on Rocket cargo. Alphonse was eager to get this low-level job out of the way...[break][break]

But he would not allow himself to become impatient - for that, too, was how mistakes could be made even by a professional.[break][break]

"What a delightful coincidence, then, Ryker." Minuit allowed, his deep voice sounded almost amused.[break][break]

"I was born to lead people like you. It's kind of what I do - if I'm being frank. But - a good manager never forgets how to work the front desk. Didn't expect to be back to this kind of wetwork at my age - but Miss Crane had made this... necessary."[break][break]

Alphonse lifted a large, silver case from inside of his coat's inner pocket - and with a practiced flick of the wrist, a single cigar emerged. He leaned forward and offered one to Ryker. And whether or not Ryker accepted, Alphonse took one for himself too. Though if the man did partake, Alphonse would even light it up for his fellow assassin. By trade, Al was more of a "upper management" type. But his military father had once said of himself: "Yeah, boy. I was intelligence. But when our camp got over run, then by the stars and stones I was fuckin' infantry!"[break][break]

And tonight, Alphonse was just as assassin as well - muscle, an enforcer.[break][break]

"To that end, I do have a plan..."[break][break]

He trailed off, allowing Ryker to say his piece - or else to listen, and enjoy one of Alphonse's Kalosian cigars.
