Alphonse Gambino was not someone many people associated with rural settings.[break][break]

He wore expensive suits that cost more than some cheaper vehicles, rings and jewelry were as common to find on him as high-class cigars and bespoke clothes. But for once Alphonse was not dressed so formally - he wore clothes appropriate to the seashore just outside of Petalburg City. He wasn't so tacky as to wear swim-trunks and a t-shirt. But he still wore a relaxed, floral number one might expect a resident of Alola to wear. Bright blues and yellows on a red background made him seem like an old boater rather than a crime boss disguised as a legitimate businessman. He had on long fisherman's khakis and sandals that let him walk freely in the sand and grassy dunes.[break][break]

He was in relaxed, casual attire suited to an older man by the beach. But he couldn't change his enormous stature - and he did not trouble to try and wear a mask. His eyes reflected the same lidded, bored expression they always did. And as he moved across the wooden boardwalk people moved aside for the Urasing of a man. It wasn't that there wasn't enough room for Alphonse and a couple others to walk abreast. He wasn't that big, or at least not wide. But others made way all the same - and Alphonse finally saw who he was looking for. He had heard she might be in the area - and Minuit had ordered his Minutemen to stay well back and out of sight, to flank the entrance of the long boardwalk but not to draw attention to themselves.[break][break]

This wasn't a snatch-and-grab. It was surveillance - reconnaissance, really - a follow-up on a hot tip.[break][break]

And as the man reached the lone figure with her line cast into the water - he stood behind her, but far enough away to not draw her attention straight off - not close enough to put her on edge.[break][break]

She might still be dangerous - especially if the rumors were true.[break][break]

"How's the catch, today? Fish bitin'?" He grumbled in that smoker's gravely voice of his - deep and powerful, suited to a man his size.

For some reason, the fishermen in the area were saying that there just weren't any fish around to catch and nothing they did worked, but the heatwaves running through the region for summer time were pretty devastating, there could just be a lot of weather reasons why there just weren't enough fish to catch... Yuina came out to see if she could figure out what was going on, or maybe it was all just a bunch hooey, who knew? For as hot as it had been lately, today wasn't too terrible, it was manageable to say the least, so things could be different?[break][break]
Sitting out on the pier, fishing line in hand, Yuina sat with her feet dangling off the edge while Kyoko sunbathed in the warm sun beside her and Crowley was out in the water. The Feraligatr was out to investigate the waters, see if there was anything amiss like the fishermen thought there might be, so the croc was surveying the area to see if he could find anything wrong. Otherwise, Yuina sat with her sun hat shading the small immediate area around her, keeping her eyes on the water when a voice off to the side questioned about the fish. It was a gruff, older voice for sure, and Yuina turned to look up beneath the brim of her hat at someone who was probably one of the fishermen in the area worrying about their regular fishing grounds. She'd only been out there for a little while, so she couldn't count her Torchic before they hatched, but....[break][break]
"Not yet? I'm hoping there's actually nothing wrong with the area, and it might just have been the weather as of late. Today isn't too bad," she answered, she wasn't fussed over it yet, fishing was about patience after all.

The huge man in his floral, button-down shirt and fisherman's pants nodded - he looked down at the girl from his position behind her and off to one side. Even in profile he had to admit that she looked like Dix, but he couldn't be sure yet. Alphonse had heard his Minutemen swear up and down that they had found his former associate. And two of the men who had reported seeing her had been her Minutemen in the first place - direct reports to, possibly, the woman who sat before him. And the words of Cillian Quinn echoed in his mind:[break][break]

"Only a fool relies solely upon the words of others who might be susceptible to outside influence."[break][break]

Truer words had seldom been spoken - and such wisdom was one reason Al respected the underboss more than some of his own men.[break][break]

Al only saw Yuina's face when she turned it up towards him to answer. And though his expression remained bored and dry - he recognized her. It had only been a few months since he had seen her in person. But to see her just sitting here after going missing, failing to report in - it was unlike her. None of Alphonse's officers were foolish enough to betray him - and in turns they usually feared or respected him enough not to even cross him by failing to turn in progress reports or paychecks. But the woman who sat before him showed no fear nor deference as she answered - and that fit with the little bit Alphonse had managed to piece together. You could learn a lot about someone by interviewing the people they had met and done business with - and this girl, who now went by Yuina - well, she hadn't been hard to track once the first tips had rolled in.[break][break]

"Well," Alphonse began, and he looked down to regard Kyoko for a moment. He wondered if any of her Pokémon were still the same - if any of them might remember him or maybe some of her former subordinates. He didn't micromanage his officers enough to know their Pokémon teams by heart. But it was an avenue he could pursue if she really didn't recall him. And her face if nothing else showed no recognition of the man. [break][break]

"Fishing's been bad here lately."[break][break]

There was a thoughtful pause in which Al looked along the shore and towards the woods far, far off in the distance.[break][break]

"Course, could be somethin' to do with all the crap that new plant up in Rustboro's dumpin' in the water."

It was a quiet day over all, nothing really seemed to be happening in the area since it seemed that the fishing spot might have been having trouble, there weren't too many people around or Pokemon on the banks, and there was only a subtle breeze that lofted over the area. The stillness of it all, the quiet, it was soothing in a way, but it would never stay that way for long, something always broke the stillness of a given moment. Yuina was doing her best, in this quiet day, to keep herself distracted, focusing on the water and Crowley's figure as he moved by every so often, she just didn't like being left alone with her own thoughts for too long, it got lonely... She was glad for a little bit of company, even if it would only be for a little while.[break]
Kyoko turned over in the sun, the fire type had few cares to give on this quiet day, her fire was placated and she may as well be snoozing as she resituated and fell still again at the warmth of the summer day. Out in the water, Crowley's large figure emerged from the water, his red spikes and toothy maw showing just above the surface as he looked back to Yuina.[break][break]
"Did you find anything out of the ordinary yet," Yuina called out to the croc, but the Feraligatr shook his head, rippling the water around him before he ducked beneath the surface again, ready to keep up the search. She wasn't down trodden yet, she could think of something... And then the man spoke up again, the fishing being bad in the area, and she followed his gaze down the way. A plant? Dumping into the water...[break][break]
"There's a plant that's spilling into the water? How far away from here is it," Yuina questioned, turning more towards him now as she sat on the pier's edge, disregarding her fishing line at this point, that could very well be the issue, and she was already trying to think of what she could do about it...

"Rustboro." Alphonse repeated simply, and he continued to look off into the distance - of course neither of the pair could actually see Rustboro from the pier - but the endless horizon was filled with either the sparkling, blue waters or else the thick, green foliage of Petalburg Woods.[break][break]

"New chemical plant, southwest corner of Rustboro. Think they handle a lot of waste product - they're supposed to be recycling what other companies and residents bring in. They're dumping whatever they can't reuse. I've even noticed a lot of Grimer in the water near their plant, too."[break][break]

Alphonse looks down to inspect Yuina - not in a creepy, admiring way. He was in his early forties - but he seemed for just a moment to look less like a stranger might and more wore the expression of someone who cared about her. It was only momentary though - a simple, passing lapse in his otherwise neutral expression. By the time Yuina could blink - before most people could hope to notice he was even staring at her - his eyes had drooped back into their half-lidded, bored expression as he stared again at the woods. The sounds of Wingull calling mournfully echoed in the sea-salt air.[break][break]

"Thing is, they're not even dumping from the factory. Don't know for sure they're responsible."[break][break]

Midnight was usually a man of few words.[break][break]

Alphonse Gambino, the CEO of Gambino Bespoke Apparel, however, was as social and talkative as anyone else - and he only seemed to regard the girl after a pause that lent dramatic effect.[break][break]

"But checking it out seems better than sitting here and casting off. Me? I think we should check it out ourselves. If we don't help these people - well, who will? What do you say, miss...?"[break][break]

He lazily trailed off, allowing her to provide her own name if she so desired.

The small fishing line Yuina had brought along had little value at this point as she was fully turned and sitting on the pier, looking up at the man that had approached her. Kyoko still had little else to do at present besides continue sunning her fur, but the Feraligatr in the water noticed the withdrawal of Yuina's fishing line and came closer in the water, surfacing just a bit. The man spoke about a chemical waste plant, that was supposed to be recycling refuse from other companies...[break][break]
"Well that has to be it, that would really ruin an environment over time and cause this issue," Yuina returned, it was no wonder that this area just wasn't good for fishing any more, and without fish in the water, there would be less bird Pokemon, which meant maybe more bug Pokemon, which could lead to grass types getting run out of the surrounding forest, that one factory and their carelessness could throw off an entire environment.[break]
Yuina was already taking things into consideration, how she wanted to proceed with this information having taken on this mission, she sure couldn't just leave this place knowing that down the river that factory was likely the culprit, but the man after a bit of a quiet moment regarded her again, talking about checking it out...[break][break]
"Yuina. I'm Yuina, and we'll definitely go check out that factory. That will help me figure out what kind of action to take to get things back in order. The longer this goes on, the more the environment suffers," Yuina returned, already standing and ready to go, this was a great opportunity and she couldn't be more thankful for the help.[break]
"But first. Kyoko, let's do a little something while we're here," Yuina spoke then, regarding her Typhlosion, and the fire type looked up from her dozing at Yuina's remark. The fire type sat up and looked out to the water, raising her paws, and the aura of her Wish fell over the water for some revitalizing. It wasn't going to fix the whole problem, but it could probably help a little...[break][break]
"Okay, let's go," Yuina said, ready to take a look and investigate as Crowley started to follow along in the water. She did almost forget though, she was a little wrapped up in trying to do the best she could on the mission she'd been assigned, she was being a bit rude...[break][break]
"Oh, what's your name?"
