Man this was a real kick to the gonads. Here he was, having fled to Hoenn to escape the trade, and Rocket's first initiative was to make Dwayne a dealer. Felt a bit like a spit to the face, but then again this was pretty stereotypical grunt work. Gotta cut your teeth before you can be trusted with the more unique jobs. Plus deep down he knew he loved the thrill, though he really wished he did not.

An old barn outside Verdanturf seemed as good a place as any for an exchange, and luckily Dwayne's mask provided a buffer against the smell of dilapidated farmyard. He had come a bit earlier than necessary, far too paranoid about the consequences of being late. Dwayne had time to watch the sun set from within the barn's gloom, and as nightfall approached his client would arrive.

At first there was only an Alolan Persian, and for a moment Dwayne thought that the client had sent a pokemon to complete the transaction. That's a genius idea, why did he not think of that? His ridiculous fantasy was thwarted when a man entered the threshold of the barn, greeting Dwayne by name. Dwayne groaned, scratching the back of his head to manage his irritation.

"Ugh, who keeps giving my name out? Whatever, yeah hi Frank. Got the money?"

Dwayne raised a brown parcel he had been holding, which contained the substances that Frank sought.

Frank Caffey

The money was flashed, and thus the deal was secured. Dwayne stepped forward, offering the package in exchange for the currency. He was so busy focusing on the trade-off, that he did not notice the Persian getting riled up. That is, until it was too late.

Light erupted through the barn, causing Dwayne to drop the bills he had just grabbed out of shock. He yelled out, diving for the money before any of it could be blown away. Was this a set-up? Was his life about to be ripped away from him before he could even properly start it?

Dwayne had resolved to make a run for it as he stuffed the money into his coat pocket. He was not going to go down like this, not without a fight any way. He could not even make a single step forward though, instead being lifted into the air like the rest of the barn.

Dwayne's panicked eyes met Frank's, who seemed to be just as confused as Dwayne was. "Ummm--UMMMMM!" Dwayne tried to think of something to say, but what exactly do you say to this? The scene only escalated as the roof of the barn was torn asunder, revealing something that Dwayne could never have seen coming.

Some sort of--space ship the size of a bus was shooting a spotlight upon them. Was that what was causing this anti-gravity conundrum? Dwayne looked back over to Frank. "So uh--you don't happen to have any ideas do you?"

Frank Caffey

The Persian's claws racked against the ship, leaving sizable gashes in the hull. The ship made an odd clicking sound in response, and the tractor beam would abruptly switch off. As gravity took hold once more, Dwayne would react accordingly.

"Wait wait wait WAIT!"

Bam, landed on his keester. If it weren't for his cushioned buns he might have broke his pelvis bone or something. He had no time to catch his breath though, as the barn quickly began to descend as well. Dwayne yelled out as he pushed himself forward, stumbling from the momentum as the barn crashed around him. At the last stretch he would be forced to dive to avoid being flattened by falling planks.

As the dust settled, Dwayne would slowly rise to his feet and look around for Frank. He could not find him before three new beings would appear before him. A Beheeyem flanked by two Elgyem stared at Dwayne, tilting their heads with possible curiosity. Perhaps they were trying to figure out how Dwayne left such large slash marks on their ship. Their interest was short lived though, and the Beheeyem would raise a colorful hand to charge an attack.

Dwayne squealed and clumsily attempted to pull a pokeball off his belt. Thanks to his fumbling though, he might be too late...

Frank Caffey

Dwayne shut his eyes as tightly as he could, anticipating the alien's attack to split him in half. Luckily Frank was on top of both of their shits, sending his Alolan Persian to bite into the alien and cause it to misfire. Dwayne opened his eyes as he heard the commotion, sighing with relief as his life was given a few more precious moments.

He finished pulling a pokeball off of his belt and hastily opened it, releasing an Alolan Muk. The technicolor slime spotted the mysterious assailants immediately, narrowing his eyes with contempt. Dwayne frantically pointed at the very same foes. "Crush those glowing--things." He did not have to tell Muk twice.

Muk charged forward, leaving behind crystals in its wake. As it reached the alien trio, it would move past the large leader already being worked on by the Persian and went straight for the two small fry. The two foot-soldiers panicked, attempting to blast Muk with their own Psybeams. Muk's dark typing made the attacks useless. Muk lunged forward, attempting to crush the duo with its disgusting mass (Crunch).

Frank Caffey

Dwayne's Muk watched as the two elgyem he was trying to smother pulled themselves out from under his mass and ran off like a couple of frightened toddlers. Muk was prepared to give chase, but as all three aliens seemed more keen on getting away than causing conflict Dwayne decided to call it a win. Muk was withdrawn, and Dwayne would let out a loud sigh as his mind struggled to recover from this--bizarre misadventure.

Frank seemed far less affected by what they went through, and as he called it 'cool' Dwayne could only leer in his direction. If that was his definition of cool, Frank needed to buy a new dictionary. Dwayne was still trying not to piss himself in fear, he was an inch away from having his brains plastered onto a barn wall. Or at least what was left of one.

Frank seemed like he wanted to get home in a hurry, so before Dwayne could even respond Frank pushed the bag of money into his arms and happily ventured off to--wherever. Dwayne meanwhile finally felt the motivation to move, and sleepily headed toward Verdanturf. All he wanted right now was some coffee.
