One ring toss had completely swerved to the right and struck an ice cream cone from another child's hand. Another had flown upward and managed to get itself stuck in the netting where the plushies were kept. And the last, well... the last had accidentally struck the scowling game attendant watching the whole thing. Needless to say, Audric had LOST THE CARNIVAL GAME.

He takes a moment to inspect his hands, genuinely wondering what is wrong with them, before moving into another line with LUCY the CUFANT by his side. It isn't until a moment afterward that he realizes he's not even sure what ride he has gotten in line for. Or the fact that he'd accidentally cut in front of someone while getting into it. But his Cufant realizes.

The little elephant tugs at his sleeve to get his attention, and is successful before long. "Oh! I'm sorry, I was, uh... preoccupied. Please." He apologizes, gesturing for the person to step ahead of him in line.

Tori had been spending a lot of time at the carnival as of late. Perhaps it was because she had nothing better to do but it was a good way to pass the time. She was standing in line for one of the pendulum rides when she shrieks of a distressed kid reached her ears, and the ones of everyone around her. The parent was attempting to console the kid but their efforts fell on deaf ears. But at this rate she and everyone else were going to be suffering from early hearing loss if the kid didn’t stop wailing at the top of their lungs. [break][break]

With a disgruntled sigh, Victoria steps out of her place in the line and heads over towards the commotion. A quick glance at their surroundings and she could tell the child was upset due to a dropped ice cream cone. As Tori approached she knelt down to get on their level and patted the kid on the head. A curious glance and a few hiccups were the only things that paused this child’s tantrum. Not wanting to waste this opportunity Tori reached in her pocket and handed the kid some coins, enough to get a replacement. “There, there. Now you can go back to the ice cream stand and get another.” She said with a bright smile, highly uncharacteristic of her, towards the parent. [break][break]

“Get two scoops. For me.” She said with an added wink as she dropped a few more coins into the kids hand before nodding at the grateful parent and stepping back in line. Tori sighed heavily as she massaged her temple. “I hate kids.” She grumbled before taking a look at who she was standing next to. “Your first time riding one of these?” She asks as she points towards the pendulum ride, where occasionally shrieks from the passengers could be heard.

Oh. That was the kid he had accidentally knocked the ice cream cone from. He'd been too embarrassed to approach at the moment, but this kind woman seemed to have handled it well enough. Even so, he can't help the faint blush of red on his cheeks.

At least she hates kids, he thinks. I mean, I don't hate kids. But—

He isn't sure where he's going with this line of thinking, so he snaps out of it. Following the direction of her finger instead, he realizes exactly what he's signed up for by standing here. "Woah... no, I haven't. Is that literally it, though?" He asks with a raised brow. "It just rows back and forth? How bad could that be?"

He's sat beside Victoria Beckett before he even catches her name. And, before long, they're packed in like sardines before the sailboat begins to swing. It's easy at first. Fun, even. Then it picks up speed and two are pinned backward by gravity and some of Tori's hair accidentally whips his face.

His Cufant, in the meantime, waits for them at the exit and cheers them on with a cute little toot. When it ends, Audric stumbles out of the ride on legs that feel like jelly. Tori might even have to help him up if she feels inclined.

"O-kay... that wasn't what I was expecting." He remarks, trying to balance himself.

"Woah... no, I haven't. Is that literally it, though?" He asks with a curious glance towards the ride, "It just rows back and forth? How bad could that be?"[break][break]

Tori snickered as they all began to board the attraction. "Right, just try not to throw up on me." Tori grinned knowingly as she recycled the same line that Cam had said to her when they had ridden the drop tower together before. Once again, Tori hadn't experienced a ride like this before but she was an adrenaline junkie, she was sure she would be fine. [break][break]

There were other's though that looked clearly shaken while standing in line. She could only pray they keep their bodily fluids to themselves. Pendulum rides were no joke. If they weren't careful someone else could get sprayed unintentionally and if that happened to be Tori well...she might just end up leaving the carnival in handcuffs, to say the least. [break][break]

The ride wasn't that impressive. No anticipatory climbs or thrilling drops to get her blood pumping. Just swinging back and forth till momentum built and they made a full circle a few times. With a sigh she stepped off the ride, eyes glancing at the stranger she'd been conversing with before. [break][break]

He was clearly shaken so Tori extended a hand to help brace him. "O-kay... that wasn't what I was expecting." he replied while Tori grinned. "Looks can be deceiving." She said as she attempted to hold him steady so he could regain his balance. "You alright there?" she said, a hint of a chuckle in her tone.

Audric blushes when he realizes the girl from before has her hands on him now. Meekly, he nods. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine! In fact, I'm ready to go on another ride I haven't been on before." He insists, straightening in posture to seem assured.

Lucy the Cufant toots with approval as she runs circles around the pair. Audric, in the meantime, gets himself together in full before abashedly smiling at the girl. She was pretty cute. And, truth be told, he was hoping to save face by proving his mettle on other rides.

"Would you... wanna come along, maybe? You seem pretty experienced with carnivals." He remarks, extending a hand shortly thereafter. "My name is Audric Black by the way. Nice to meet you."

His bravado was adorable. Tori actively found herself resisting the urge to laugh while watching him recover. She slipped her arm away from him once it seemed that he could finally stand on two feet without toppling over again. While his eagerness was amusing she worried he wouldn't be able to handle some of the more daring stuff. [break][break]

She pondered this for a moment before responding to the invitation. She swiftly took his hand in her own and shook it in greeting. "Victoria. But you can call me Tori. Nice to meet you too Audric." she said with an easy smile. Tori quickly glanced around the park. "And sure, I don't mind tagging along. Though I wouldn't say I'm experienced with carnivals per say..." she said as she spied their next location. [break][break]

"I'm just your average daredevil." she said with a bright grin flashed back at him. "Why don't we try our hand at some bumper cars?" she said as she lead them towards their target destination. "It could be a good....palate cleanser of sorts, before we go back to the more daring rides." She said as they swiftly moved through the line and began to pick out their own bumper cars to board.
