[break][break]for some rockets, a beating does suffice. marcus has his doubts regarding this particular flight risk — the more misery incurred here, the more tantalizing the inevitable offers from his family become.

caden does not know a thing about marcus kotov .

[break][break] unlike other rockets, he prefers to keep things quiet. he preferred that, even when his brothers were still in rocket. it was easy to do the things in his life that he enjoyed with a hefty organization, however criminal, backing him. it was why their father had aligned them to rocket, why he'd signed their life away.

[break][break] the thought of his father makes something bitter rise in his throat — whether from his own actions or his father's, however, is impossible to tell.

[break][break] caden sweeps through the room when invited, seating upon one of the chairs.

[break][break] it feels strange to be on this side of the room. almost as if he is a patient underneath marcus kotov 's unnerving stare.
