This war between blood-fueled machines had gone on for far too long. He was tired of a Rocket that took Hoenn's most helpless and twisted them into monsters. He was wary of a League that let itself grow darker and darker to match their enemy. He was outraged by a world that failed its brightest stars and biggest hearts.[break][break] Even as Temp turned his back on him, Isaac promised to fight for a world where he had something to live for. Temp may never get to bear the fruits of that labor himself. However, if he could stop even a single lost soul from drowning in the same abyss, this would all be worth it.[break][break] "I don't care." It wasn't until Temp left that Isaac finally addressed Suicune. "For me, for yourself, for some big, cosmic secret too big for any of us to know about. I'm not stupid. I know you're not some saint. You want something, just like everyone else in Hoenn."[break][break] Just like Zev Harcourt, and Caleb Harcourt, and Michael Navidson, and John Sullivan and illeana reyes, and Eris Halla, and hell, even Temp. Everyone had their reasons for wanting Isaac in their life, and it was never purely because they thought he was neat. Even the most pure, generous intent came with a desire for Something. It was just human nature.[break][break] "But that's fine, yeah? If anything, I'd be more wigged out if this was just some big gift." Suicune, for their part, did nothing to confirm nor deny. They simply watched, letting the wheels in their protege's head spin. "Doesn't make me any less thankful, that's for sure."[break][break] "So, for all the bullshit I drag you into, I've got your back too, alright? But don't take that as some license to fuck me over." Suicune stood, quiet and contemplative. Then, with a glint in their eye, they spirited away Isaac onto their back. Away they ran, ribbonlike tendrils keeping Isaac steady so he didn't go plummeting into the ocean.[break][break] "Okay, okay, I get the hint," he said, laughing a little. "Less talk, more action. Got it." Was it Isaac's goal they rode towards? Was it Suicune's? Or maybe, just maybe, Temp was wrong. Maybe even as their relationship hit its ebbs and flows, their hearts beat as one towards the same dream.[break][break] Perhaps the black knight was finally ready to ride off.
