OVERVIEW

a variety vlogger beloved for her friendliness and cute demeanor. her channel, pau & u!♥, features her beloved bewear pau as the mascot. doesn't seem like it, but is actually from a rich family that dabbles in the distribution of jewels, though keeps any mention of them off camera (and always dismisses it if people ask). gives off the impression she's ill suited for anything but fashion and all things girly, but has a hidden lust for adventure that gets her wandering from place to place.

became a vlogger specifically because she desired "connections," (something she lacked with the distance between her family members). she's notable for being outgoing and cheerful, but...

HISTORY

the second child to the solette family. due to the family's status, they conducted themselves in a reserved manner, her parents believing it to be symbolic of their wealth. as the only daughter, julie was always expected to behave prim and proper — an act she perfected. whilst behaving warmly to one another in public, the solette family very rarely interacted with one another behind closed doors. as such, julie had grown up very unfamiliar with the concepts of love and warmth.

that is, until she had visited the hoenn region, years before team rocket's return.

a part of her had always recognized she was envious of families with genuine bonds; of friendships that lacked ulterior motives; of those wrapped in affection so sweet they could cry. in a region where no one knew her name, wouldn't it be easier to grasp and understand that?

in the summer of her nineteenth year, she fell in love with consideration, shy laughs and so, so much more.

CHARACTER NOTES

• julie never turns off her sociable persona when around others. never. she's under the assumption that it makes her more lovable (because that's who someone fell in love with, all those years ago).
• is basically perpetually smiling. it's her default expression, nowadays.
• don't ask her what she's usually like because she wouldn't know how to respond. she's an amalgamation of her parents' expected behavior, the cute girl on camera and the empty confusion hidden beneath it all.
• her elder brother is five years older and her younger brother is six years younger.
• is actually very incredibly lonely and is always seeking acceptance. it's why the break up with her ex hit her really hard, but she doesn't exactly understand that (yet).

RELATIONSHIPS

FAMILY - can't say if she were on good or bad terms with her family, considering their interactions and bond were very businesslike. julie is keenly aware her mother and father see her brothers and herself as assets. is currently not in contact with any of them, aside from her younger brother who only informs her of the current state of affairs within the solette family.

Mika Nakayama  - the first love in question. julie still flirts and teases with her like normal, and relishes in the way mika doesn't ignore her. though, because mika is trying so hard to create distance between them, julie is trying very hard to let go. unfortunately, they both cling to a relationship long gone, so it's just an endless cycle of pushing and pulling. the origin for her current cheerful behavior, mika has never once seen julie not be bubbly and has never met her family. despite it all, mika is still julie's beloved mimi and julie is still mika's jules.

kalosian rich kids. childhood friends or seeing one another in passing. the julie before leaving her family seemed like a princess. who would have thought that girl would be as lively as she is now?

fashionista. well, she is from kalos! teach her about your home region's fashion trends! or, even better, go shopping with her!

genuine friends. social media makes it easy to connect with others. being an influencer makes it even easier. she doesn't let people get close to her, but it'd be nice of someone to try.

connections. good or bad, julie just wants to be connected to people. anything is better than not caring at all.

what's a date or two? so about moving on from her ex? yeah, she goes on dates here and there. want to romance her for the night? it won't go anywhere, but hey! who could pass up the chance for dinner with a cute girl?

cutting strings. she doesn't like to think about it too much, but julie is very much so still the doll her parents expected her to be. the only difference now that she's left home is that she's dancing on the world's strings. help her find herself. i'm expecting this one to be incredibly slow burn! it's difficult to unlearn two decades of one's life, after all.

who even are you? i really want someone to see the tiny cracks in her personality and call her out! it'll be very difficult to notice, so it'd definitely only be by a close friend or by someone that hates her.

battle time. julie makes it seem like she's useless in a fight and would never reveal how calculative she is. someone force her into a fight (just don't be nervous when the always smiling julie goes stoic). the team she uses will be entirely dependent on whether it's IC planned or spontaneous (though, it also depends on how well you know her too).

damsel in distress. alternatively, because julie plays up being fragile, if someone wants to swoop in and be her hero for the day, go for it.
