delicate ice crystals dance through the hazy skies, pressing gentle kisses on kaelyn's skin upon landing. unlike the rest of hoenn, the icy tundra was one of the rare locations that she felt at home in, its cool temperatures reminiscent of kalos in the wintertime. despite herself, when a chilly gust of wind sweeps through the terrain, kaelyn shivers and tucks the lower half of the face into her new scarf. [break][break]

she peers at her marowak from above her scarf. besides her, the ghost marches forward, swinging his flaming bone as he hunts his next prey. "mmm, slow down." kaelyn rumbles quietly. "let's pick our battles now."

a sudden large explosion nearby causes kaelyn to flinch, whirling around to look for the violent noise's perpetuator. the marowak immediately goes on guard as well, the green wisps on the ends of his bone flaring as he sweeps the terrain for the enemy. [break][break]

to their right, a large crabominable smashes icy boulders with the force of a fighting type, concealed partially by the few pine trees that manage to stand strong in the frozen tundra. bits of icy shards fly into the air like confetti, diving down like a cluster of missiles. the ghost glowers at the crab, taking personal offense to the flashy display of strength. he glances at kaelyn as if to ask for permission, which kaelyn gives with a subtle nod. eagerly, the ghost cloaks himself in a ball of teal green before lunging at the crabominable, swallowing him in flames. [break][break]

the crab collapses, the move's type-advantage too overwhelming and knocking it down with one swift blow. the marowak struts back with a satisfied swing of his bone, smug by his win.

red luminous orbs glow bright in a landscape of snow, the sight easily in spirit of halloween. kaelyn shivers as she feels a set of eyes on her, and she instinctively looks to her left to find a scruffy black cat staring at them. the woman makes a face at the sight of the perrserker - it was her first time seeing the meowth doppleganger, and gosh, was it ugly. her purrloin was the superior feline, by far. [break][break]

"let's go, biru." kaelyn says, swinging her gaze from the wild pokemon to the path in front of her. she wasn't going to spend another second looking at such a shabby ragged cat. [break][break]

ah. finally, something that was worth being her eye-candy. a light blue dinosaur prances through the snow, leaving tiny footsteps in its trail. the fins on its head flutters against the chilly winds like the sails of a yacht, the movement a subtle elegance of its own. it was such a pleasing sight to kaelyn's sore eyes that she didn't have the heart to set the pokemon aflame. [break][break]

she digs through her bag instead, finding a rage candy bar and a sack of oran berries. she gently slips a berry out of the woven bag, pressing it on her palm and offering it to the dinosaur. as he wolfs down the berry eagerly, dark blue stains imprinting messily on his chin, kaelyn taps the pokeball against the amaura's forehead. she watches as the capsule swallow the dinosaur in gleaming white light, piercing even amidst the pristine snowy terrain.
