Rise so high, in mud you lie

Howard Slayte is an archaeologist who has been constantly rising in the Hoenn region as an explorer, artifact hunter, and translator. A staunch advocator of the 'preservation of the past', he acts as a silent member of Team Rocket. When his graduation loomed, and few prospects in his field presented themselves, the shadowy organization was more than willing to help.

Now, he helps the organization make money via the sale and distribution of illegally excavated artifacts. When Howard reports his findings, books are cooked, data is lost, and nobody is none the wiser. Who cares what an archaeologist has discovered, after all? There's little reason to care about an archaeologist in an organization of titans.

What Can Be Found in Archaeology Annually

Lost his eye while exploring a ruin in an accident, "while running away from a spiked boulder".

Graduated Rustboro City University with a double Masters in archaeology with an emphasis in ancient languages, as well as a geology major with a focus on fossil excavation and plate tectonics. Later returned to complete his doctorate in a year.

Mother runs a large chain of jewelry stores, Starry Night. Father is a scientist working on fossil restoration.

Editor for the magazine Archaeology Annually. and has a column dedicated to his most recent findings, called In the Slayte.

Is one of Hoenn's most varied polyglots and runic translators, speaking over sixty languages and reading over eighty different scripts, most of which are dead.

Heavily wounded in an accident when he was twenty while out on a joint excavation between Rustboro City University and the Slateport Oceanic Museum, resulting in the loss of his eye. The accident was logged and labeled as his fault, and can be looked up by any Pokémon Rangers, should they wish.

Known as the elusive Admin Fox, an artifact smuggler with black market connections across the world. Drives much of Rocket's assets. Is elusive, and is supplying Sootopolis.

Admin Fox is known to have Regice under his control.

Howard Slayte has been on dozens of excavations over the past year, more than most other archaeologists.

The constantly low bank account has become a game with those who check his account, to see how close Howard Slayte can get to hitting the negatives. The game has a name: How's Howard's Health?

ROCKET KNOWLEDGE

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR TEAM ROCKET FACTION

Known as Admin Fox, taken once Remiel Calcifet defected from Team Rocket. Original callsign was Mr. Wednesday.

Has been in Rocket for a few years, but has been distinctly separate while funneling money through artifact selling. Few members of the organization have seen him, until recently.

Owed a substantial amount of money through student loans. Emphasis on 'owed'.

Runs a large majority of Rocket's smuggling and shipping operations. Is a large earner for the organization.

PRIVATE KNOWLEDGE

Currently working under Amor Rose in an attempt to get the Head Scientist to reach Regidrago, alongside two other members.

Has not been in contact with his parents in several years.

Terrified of one of Team Rocket's Beasts, to the point that it keeps him awake at night.

Lost his eye in exchange for the 'truth of the world'.
