After the Onix had peacefully left the place where he was camping out, he’d scuttle down from the tree and run off to where he’d brought along the stash of unlit censers and would momentarily return shortly with another one.

Hoping that this time, it didn’t smell of wet rocks, he set it down at the same place as the previous one, and lit it; before crossing his fingers and then climbing back up into the tree to wait and see what would come crawling out of the woodwork, so to speak.

It felt like so much time had passed, however he caught sight of movement flickering down on the ground close to the incense that was nestled safely between the roots of the tree—

Wait, wasn’t that a Lileep?

No, no! He had to be strong!

(He was sure that he would find more of Lileep around the place anyway, considering that they were endemic to Hoenn and all that.)

Much tempted as he was to catch it, he had to restrain himself and let the Lileep amble away as he waited for the next Pokémon to come passing by.
