Shalin shrugged at Oracelies' mention of being out of her element. "That was me all day at Dewford," she sighed. "When we have to fight, we fight wildlife, not other people. I had a hard time sleeping after being cornered and forced to kill another person's Pokémon just to survive. Even if it's Rocket, it's just so much. There are a lot of wrongs that can be undone, but death isn't one of them."

Her mood perked back up when Oracelies approached Kiku with no fear at all. The Skuntank took her offer, rubbing his tail against her and even tickling her if she allowed. "You're a brave one! But I like that about you!" Once he had his fun, Shalin slid off the poison-type's back and onto that of her Kommo-o, the Captain letting out a yelp as the scales beneath her started vibrating like a snake's tail for a split second. Kiku crouched to let Oracelies more easily hop on.

Once the two were in place, firmly aboard Shalin's Pokémon, Treble kept pace with the bounding Skuntank. While it wouldn't be an uncomfortable pace for the new Ranger, it would be a brisk one. The Captain kept her eyes out for the roadblock, as well as the Diggersby that caused it...

Oracelies really was an aquatic specialist, wasn't she? Skuntank were terrifying Pokémon; while their musk did not have corrosive properties, the foul odor that came with it was unbearable; even a mask could only do so much. Cleansing oneself of it required a special bath that was unpleasant just once, and that bath needed to be repeated several times to wash all the musk off. Thankfully for the cadet, Kiku had burned away most of his musk with creative use of his FLAMETHROWER.

The Skuntank's running stroke was a bit bouncy, but nothing that his guest rider likely couldn't adapt to. It would be easy for Oracelies to bury her limbs in the purple poison-type's fur and hold on tight. "That sounds like a really good idea! Not only could we collect the Diggersby in one area, but we could also grind their little roadblock to dust, too. I have a Seismitoad that could help with that. Come on out, Bass Boost!"

From within the Poké Ball came a hulking Seismitoad slightly taller than the Captain was. She raised her fists and let out a loud croak, the hum of rumbling bumps on her fists music to Shalin's ears. The saddle strapped to her back covered the four bumps on the amphibian's back - one of the sources of her ground-type, seismic attacks. What kind of girl was this Shalin, to not only willingly put a saddle on a Seismitoad, but to be able to withstand earthquake-level vibration? All would be answered if Ora saw Shalin in her Sygna Suit at another time...

"Got it!" Shalin chirped back. "Just have your Palpitoad stand next to Bass Boost, then on a count of three, we'll let them go at it! Just make sure you're far away, otherwise you and Kiku will get caught in the mud, too. One... two... three!"

On the Captain's command, a loud hum pierced the air as every bump on Bass Boost's arms and back began vibrating so fast that the water-type's body, saddle included, turned into a blur. The grinding noise of fist against ground was grating, and so was the EARTHQUAKE that came with it. If ORACELIES SOLAR 's Pokémon were to release a wave of MUDDY WATER, the combination attack would ensnare the wilds causing trouble. Once captured and released elsewhere, the froggy duo would have all the time they needed to grind the impeding rubble to dust.

"It worked!" Shalin cheered, withdrawing her dizzy Seismitoad after she rocked the earth intensely enough that both the Rangers could feel it even at a distance. "Couldn't have done it without you. I got the rest!" She slid off the Kommo-o's back; as much as she wished she could show off, she was not wearing her Sygna Suit.

Treble ran up to the collapse. Resting both his clawed fists against it, the dragon-type let out a war cry before loudly vibrating every scale on his body. They rang like cymbals clashing against one another dozens of times per second, his entire body blurring like a snake's rattling tail in motion. The rocks began to crack. "Faster, Treble, faster!" she shouted over the racket. The scaled Pokémon began to independently hum from the sheer frequency its body shook with, the pieces of rock being ground to dust as they fell around and on top of Treble. With a little cleanup from ORACELIES SOLAR 's Palpitoad, the road was open once more.

"Again, couldn't have done it without you!" Shalin offered a high five, hopping back onto the dragon after he returned to his trainer. "How about we celebrate at this lakefront in Petalburg Woods? It's where most of my Pokémon are at!"
