Another wave was predicted to land on the beach and funnel through the dunes onto the island. And while anything in the sky had been taken care of, Paxton was still assigned to support the incoming assault with a group of his own. Officers and Rangers alike stayed waiting in position for a trace of the ships to make it to the beach. Rocket had quickly a adapted to being sunk halfway in the water and got better at hiding their approach. [break][break]

His Octillery waits next to him, a little antsy after that strange night she'd changed. Though, she'd given him no reason to be concerned, other than a slight change in coloration and a different move. He'd put her to the test, battled with her a bit. She seemed fine in stress and so he'd allowed her to stay with him today. [break][break]

A officer nearby flinches, relaying something he sees. "They're here-" Just as he does Rockets and their pokemon rushing onto the shore let out a deafening SCREECH to announce their attack.

His Octillery tries to fight off the RAZOR LEAF with BULLET SEED, but still wrihes and screeches in pain. It's impossible to hit every leaf, especially when she needs a moment to recover before every blast. She tries to recover anyway, shooting a water canon in an arc over the incomming forces with SOAK as she forces them to waterlog. [break][break]

Paxton sends out a second pokemon, an excitable Blitzle that neighs and takes off running amidst the SOAKed Rockets. She lets out a DISCHARGE, electricity pulsing out of her in an attempt to grab as many people as she can. "Hold the line!" Paxton shouted taking a shot above as flying forces began to pop up in the air overhead.

[attr="class","beckmain"]swadloon is the main victim of the SOAK. struck with it, it becomes a water-type and is left vulnerable to the DISCHARGE that washes across the beach. it's zapped, stunned, and almost faints.

in a last-ditch effort, it lets loose one final volley of RAZOR LEAF, this time at the blitzle.

the MEGA BAND on his shoulder glows to set up banette's advance. it weaves, sneaky in the way it gets up close to the blitzle to send a SHADOW BALL into its frame.

She gets greedy, pushing deeper into enemy territory to take on the leader's pokemon. Galloping as fast as she could, sparks flying off her body, she tears close to the Swadloon only the shriek in surprise when she's pelted with more knife-like leaves. The attack rips gashes into her her, big and small. [break][break]

She TERASTALIZES into an ELECTRIC type, pulsing once more with angry electricity on the bug pokemon's grounded body. The type change makes it all that much easier to fry the pokemon. But on her death, is Beta's downfall as she doesn't notice the ghost type upon her. The SHADOW BALL sends her flying, skipping on the sand and through Rocket and League like a skipping stone on a smooth lake. [break][break]

Streenstrup clocks the MEGA BANETTE as the biggest threat so far, even with all the brilliant crystals spawning different colored hats everywhere. She shoots out shadowy tendrils in a SHADOW HOLD, to try and stop it's movement before it could do anymore damage. Though, their comrade was probably done for. Her crown had been smashed to pieces from the force of the hit, and small wounds had peeled open father into bigger, bloodier gashes. Breathing labored, it wasn't long before some other Rocket took the opportunity and smashed the last bit of life out of her.

The battle continues, trampling over the corpses of the fallen. The attack misses and Streenstrup doesn't have time to put her guard up before a clap of THUNDER slams down on her, ripping screams out of the writhing octopus. Sand at her feet has turned to glasses, and sparks of electricity rush over her body looking for the ground. [break][break]

She wouldn't be able to weather through another one of those. With a deep inhale, the octopus rears back before letting out a HYDRO PUMP. This time the column of pressurized water pointed at the Mega Banette instead of the air. It kicks up sand and limbs, all kinds of debris in its wake towards the ghost.

Explosions deeper into the island marking the presence of HEATRAN swarming both factions, almost seem to mark the conclusion of the fight. The battle trickles out into a tie, and Paxton makes the call to pull back before anymore are drowned in shallow, dark red waters. [break][break]

It's definitely over once a ROARING MOON manifests faster than he's seen yet in billowing clouds of pink. The beast ROARS before more begin to crawl out of the pink haze that fell thick on the beach. "Shit!" he ducks behind the dune as another of the paradoxes blasts a DRAGON BREATH in their direction. His partner blocks most of the strange fire, but by the time Paxton peeks out again she's fainted on the glassy sand. He brings her back into her ball before echoing THEO BECKETT . "Go! More are coming!" he shouted as he let out his IRON THORNS in response and it began a ROCK TOMB to both beat back the enemy and also form a barrier between them and the fleeing Leaguers.

ROCK TOMB separates the two sides, trapping some, but they are left to fend for their own as the majority of rocket forces make their departure.
