Lam shivers as his feet trudge through the thin layer of snow that settled over the safari zone. above him, his talonflame is a streak of bright red across the gray sky. it's funny, being so near to lilycove, where it has far less snow, though more than it normally should have. he's still getting used to it - snow. it's pretty, but he's not fond of the chill. "ziti! stay close!" he whistles to the bird of prey and she circles overhead, scouting.

From under a cover of fir trees, a delibird waddles—wide feet plapping across the snow happily. “Ah! You’re pink!” Lam chirped in delight at the sight of it. Maybe it’d make for a good buddy to Anchovy. His other delibird had decided she was not quite so fond of the Iron Bundle he’d hoped would befriend her. Not quite the same, he supposed. With a whistle, he called Ziti down— the talonflame melting the snow and crashing into the chilly bird with a FLAME CHARGE that left the air steaming as he tossed his first safari ball of the day.

With the delibird contained, Ziti took to the sky again until Lam declared he needed her assistance again. As he stooped to pick the safari ball from the snow, he noticed a shiny staryu nearby by collecting what sun it could.[break][break]
“Pretty..” he muttered, though he made no attempt to catch the staryu. It wasn’t exactly a fish, so he was less unnerved by it. He could imagine a craft staryu at the top of a Christmas tree, silver just like this one. With the blue gem casting a pretty ILLUMINATION through the room.[break][break]
He’d keep it in mind for later if he was feeling crafty.

There’s a burmy that hangs down from a tree limb, swinging lightly in the breeze. “You look like a perfect tree ornament too,” he says with a laugh. If he remembers correctly, it could potentially evolve into a nice little flying type, so it’s a given that he’ll go for this one unlike the staryu. He whistles, and the talonflame dives, twirling acrobatics knocking it loose for the catch.

The chill started to sink in under his clothes, upping his desire to turn back toward the entrance. The idea of returning home for the rest of the day was enticing—maybe he’d stop by Sawsbucks on the way home and get a hot tea, or peppermint mocha if he felt particularly festive by that point. It was an enough to carry him forward through the rest of the session, not wanting to shortchange the talonflame on her training.[break][break]

Ziti targeted a darumaka, toddling around in the snow. Sweeping down in a FLARE BLITZ she snatched the little creature up and dropped it down into Lam’s arms for catching.

Okay, he was decidedly over the cold. Figuring that Ziti finally had enough time to stretch her wings after tromping around for another twenty minutes, Lam decides that it’s finally time to call it. A fresh set of warm clothes and the couch with a fuzzy blanket were calling to him. Maybe he’d be able to convince Ikarus Rook to watch Home Alone or some other dumb Christmas movie with him. Not that he thought that would be a very hard sell.[break][break]

It was when they were doubling back that he spied the round creature tumbling down a hill— very happily so, it seemed. “Huh. Never seen one of those up close before,” he said aloud, creeping closer to the cetoddle. Merrily, it continued to play, unaware of its company. Until the talonflame sent it rolling Lam’s way with the smack of a STEEL WING. Even then, before a safari ball closed around it, it didn’t seem too perturbed.
