Some tera crystal still remained but as they traveled deeper towards the spot of the meeting, no dream mist in site. It's weird. That's really the only thing that could create something out of nothing. Out of imagination, allegedly. [break][break]

He doesn't remember pink mist at the meeting. Just- Chien Pao taking Jayden as his own, and the tera crystals that suddenly broke through the surface of the rock. He huffs at Brian's response, looking up from the broken crystal and empty table that'd been stuck to the ground by the ice Jayden had left. "Well, no grunts here to keep in line." he stated, looking anywhere and everywhere but fellow Beast. [break][break]

"When you're whole body was gone it'll grow new skin-" it made sense. There was no skin so he needed more of it. Of course it'd be unblemished. His thoughts buzz. Mint's annoyed. A lingering irritation bubbling at the surface. He doesn't go for his knife again. In fact, he stays on edge, keeping distance between himself and Brian. Even if he didn't kill him, he would've rather avoided any painful consequence of a fight. [break][break]

But he's still mad. For shit he vaguely recalls. "I'm sorry for stabbing you." is the mature thing to say. So he does. But he grimaces as he says it. Doesn't really mean much when he can rebound so quickly. He kicks a piece of crystal away, watching it skitter off into the aftermath of their meeting.

He watches the stone that mint kicks skitters off into the darker parts of the cave. "You have every right to be mad at me. You don't need to apologize." What was one stab to one who knew it would heal without a blemish? [break][break]

Pain was momentary, with time any wound would heal for him. [break][break]

However mint is different, he isn't bryan, he isn't the lifebringer. He could recall moments from their time in galar with clarity, the moments they shared private moments, the manipulations Bryan pulled on him to get his way. He was slightly disgusted himself but he knew he was capable of such disgusting acts. [break][break]

The crystals that seem to merge and carve their way in and out of rock become numerous and meld with the leftovers of the ice from jayden cross 's attacks that were still clinging on. Nothing major, just some frost and the memory of almost killing his best friend. He puts on his spy glasses, swapping between vision modes trying to find the slightest hint of dream mist. [break][break]

"Lying's my job." Mint reminded Bryan tersely, somehow managing a hard stare at a patch of crystal that hadn't sprouted pointy specimens yet. The irritation prickling his skin begins to simmer. He turns towards Bryan, eyeing him and the distance between them. "What are you talking about?" he asked, blinking in surprise. [break][break]

"Be specific." he added, a little colder than before as the glimpses of their joint dream rose to the surface. Things were fuzzy, but the most important- most emotional parts had stayed. And then it had all come to the surface when Jayden had been claimed by Chien Pao.

Mint's eyes flash with fury but he remains where he is. "If you're going to apologize, yeah, that's typical how you start: listing exactly why you're apologizing." he snapped back. [break][break]

"You've yet to say sorry." Mint pointed out. What did he remember? Bloods rushes through his face, from his nose to his ears as he looks back at tera crystals across the cave. "I remember enough to be motivated to stab you." he said, mouth shut tight right after. He remembered a lot of things. Glimpses of years going by. How his face changed in the blink of an eye. How Jayden and Fern had flourished while he languished. How much he'd year end for a fairy tale end in a fairy tale world, and how impossible that had become. [break][break]

"Say. What. You Did." He wanted him to admit it. They'd been friends once. He'd trust him with his life. He stil ldid, mostly. But they weren't friends anymore.

"Paying for it? What are you even talking about Bryan?" he asked, finally deigning to look him in the eye. But Bryan doesn't explain. Did he ever? He tightens his grip around the device in his hands again. [break][break]

"No! I want you to tell me in your words what you did that you feel so sorry about? Because I'm sure I've said it until my voice broke." he snapped. Even if Bryan were to lash out, Mint was just as stubborn. Hurt rises from a void in his mind. A piece of a dream that is visceral and he can only vaguely remember why. But this? [break][break]

Standing before Bryan? Looking up at him both angry and sad? He remembers this. Something in his gut tells him he's looked at Bryan like this countless times before. Muscle memory imprinted from a dream he wishes he could completely erase. But maybe because it's tied so strongly to hurt it still lingered. Maybe he'd too close to Bryan to let it fade completely. [break][break]

"YOU'RE the one apologizing to ME! And you want to threaten me?!" he asked, indignant. His task forgotten as he stared back up at Bryan. A part of him wanted to never forgive the Beast. Let him rot in his guilt because Mint would never soothe it again. [break][break]

"Because I believed in you!" he shot back without thinking. His words instinctual and he surprises himself. A wave of dejavu floods him but its not enough to deter him from this fight. [break][break]

He'd been willing. Mint feels cagey. The cavern too small for the pair of them. For this. He wished he was strong enough to rip out Bryan's throat. To gore it so badly not even Xerneas could bring it back, so that he could never have to hear him 'apologize' to him again.

it was an aspect of mint he fucking despised. It made him just want to bare his fangs and dominate mint and force him to submit. But that's exactly what got him into this position in the first place. No, he had to play the long game with him, however Mint was better at social games like this [break][break]

It's the adrenaline of active conflict, he realized, that's pushing his heartbeat upwards and making his armpits sweat. "Yeah, it is." Mint said, putting away his handheld in his bag. They wouldn't get anymore data today. They were doing this now. The thought disgusts him. The fact that he has to waste more time on this after the hallucination was wild. But then again, he'd wanted closure and this was probably thee last time he was going to be able to squeeze it out of thee brick head. There's a small pause. "What did you do to Priam?" Mint's glare faltered, his eyes flashing with concern for a moment. He didn't know Priam well, but he knew his importance. priam conrad was the only thing in this world and the last Bryan had given a genuine fuck about. [break][break]

And gods, does he hope it guts him that Priam is gone. He hoped it's a wound that sets in and never heals right. That is burrows and festers and rots forever in Bryan's subconsciousness. [break][break]

The thought crosses his mind and briefly, he relents on the Beast. Perhaps that was a smidge too much of Elisabeth Fiorelli 's influence. The other party to his romantic woes in dream hell. Bryan complains, and Mint knows he's pissed at him for forcing this out of him. Good. It's probably as good as he'd get making Bryan take accountability for his faults. Bryan asks him what good and Mint doesn't tell him he just enjoys watching the almighty Wolf grovel. [break][break]

"Yeah, yeah. I just push and push and push. I should've just shut up and taken it every time your mangy ass felt like coming by." he said with a laugh that lacked any humor. It's all his fault. Sure. Okay. He shouldn't ask for anything. He should be grateful for what he got. Whatever crumbs of affection he was arbitrarily given. If he wanted more he should work harder. Do better. Mint had nobody to blame but himself. [break][break]

Piss off. Michaelis Fisk had spent a whole life living like this. And mint frost would be damned if he let his death bee in vain, and winded up in thee same shit filled sinkhole like that again.
