Too busy judging Lam for his question, Peaches doesn’t pay close attention to where she’s sliding. Soon she honks as she smacks into a blubbery wall. The walrein is less than impressed, looking down at her with a loud bellow. “Ope, time to go.” Lam scrambles and slides across the snow to snatch up the Psyduck and get out of the far larger Pokémon’s turf.

An arctovish pops up out of a break in a frozen pond that’s formed. Lam skids to a stop, still holding Peaches as he balks at the sight of the extra large fish— an animal group he has never been particularly fond of. This one was extra odd, all unevenly proportioned. He imagines topping it with a ribbon tied in a bow and gifting it to . If only because Rook would be thrilled with it as much as he loves the misfit sorts of pokemon. But…Lam will pass, too unnerved by it’s unblinking, fishy eyes.

It seems this trip is a bit of a bust. They must’ve come too late in the day. A cloyster lurks nearby, but it goes undetected by Lam, who at a distance, perceives it to be a big rock. It’s barely late afternoon, but the winter sun begins to sink, and he’s quick to gather up his Psyduck. “Better head out now, Peaches. Before it gets full dark and the stars come out.” They trudge back the direction they came from, Peaches waddling sleepily alongside him. Though, he’s gotta admit, in a place like this with no urban noise or light pollution, the night sky has to be pretty dope. With the light from the stars reflecting off the snow.[break][break]

Maybe he’ll come back sometime to see it when he’s better prepared for it.
