The frigid winds that ran through the Silent Icelands fell so bonechilling that even Kyurem would be jealous. The sudden shift in energy in the area was a worthy investigation, but the venture proved rough. For Arceus' sake, she was used to the heat of Lavaridge, not the frozen tundra that had become an icy grave to the less fortunate pokemon. Brows knit together in a sense of frustration as a hand reached out to touch one of the encased pokemon. (She didn't know what was more frightening: that they might be dead and their bodies put out on display, or worse, they were still alive underneath the thick layers.

The Dragonite that had recently joined her team huffed a breath into its stubby paws to try and keep itself warm. Niola, although freezing herself, shrugged the scarf off from around her neck and gently draped it over the massive dragon's shoulders. Though her expression fell stern, there was a certain gentleness to her movements -- no one wanted to see their pokemon suffer.

She doubted she'd find any answers in this wasteland, but it never hurt to keep an eye out.

As she made the careful approach towards one of the frozen specimens, the ground began to rumble. Had she awoken something? Before she could register just what had happened, her Dragonite forced her to stumble forward as it caught the wild Metagross' METAL CLAW with its own FIRE PUNCH. The metal colossus stumbled back a bit to try and shake off the parry. With another FIRE PUNCH, the Dragonite staved off the Metagross and forced it to retreat.

Her expression sunk into one of distaste. This was meant to be a resting place for those who suffered Kyurem's wrath. How dare the wild pokemon disturb it. A shaky exhale to steel herself for the reassurance she wished to offer those trapped. She soon carefully placed a gloved hand on one of the frozen pokemon and furrowed her brows. It was her way of assuring the pokemon trapped in the permafrost that it would be freed soon if she could help it.

"Thank you," she shot over her shoulder to the Dragonite that had been so quick to guard her.

A shame that in its scuffle, it seemed to snag up the scarf she'd given it. Nothing a quick fix at home couldn't remedy.

The primary objective came to search for any sign of destruction. As much as she wanted to offer her sympathies to the fallen, Niola was forced to continue forward. There were no signs of any destruction that she could see, but the Icelands were far too vast for one person to explore. And the moment the hail from the wild Amaura's SNOW WARNING began to rain down, she figured it an omen for something worse to come if she dawdled too long. An arm raised itself to shield her face from the hail and her voice guided the Dragonite forward.

"Dragon tail."

The Dragonite obeyed, braving the ice that pelted its body as it charged forward and swung its tail at the Amaura. Once the attack connected, Niola sent a pokeball flying. It was the only way they could allow the storm to subside. But just what was the Amaura trying to hide with its ability? Some answers were better left unanswered, she supposed.
