it's the end of the day and cian has spent all day out in the heat, and even if the sun isn't as strong as it had been during the hoenn star tournament a few years back, the heat still takes a toll.[break][break]

The long day of consecutive battles takes its toll on Lam and his pidove just as much, though he doesn’t have the sygna suit to wear him further. He watches with another laugh as Cian’s tongue lolls then rolls back up like a measuring tape.[break][break]

he nods, agreeing with lam logan only to quickly snap his mouth shut before his tongue can roll out again.[break][break]

Poppy’s wings beat harder as jettisons of water crash toward her from all sides and she tries to angle away from as much impact as possible. A strong wind blows throughout, propelled by the little bird.[break][break]

As she DEFOGS the area of the illusions that litter the space, the pidove whirls on the original froakie. Diving down, she puts her full weight into the impact of a smack from her DRAGON HAMMER.

"it's not as strong but i've used it to grab the remote off the table when i'm too lazy to get up from the couch."[break][break]

he's not sure why he's admitting this to lam logan. it seems like something he should really keep private. but perhaps it's his closeness with lam that helps him share.[break][break]

watching the battle unfold, he rolls his eyes, groaning right as froakie gets bonked by DRAGON HAMMER.[break][break]

“Ha! Not gonna lie, that sounds hella convenient.” But still, plenty weird. Not that Lam really cares all that much. He frowns in confusion a beat later, “Wait, you wear it at home too?”[break][break]

His pidove clearly doesn’t mind having a souped up attack. Though the sticky tongue that lashes out is much less appealing. A twitter of disgust follows as she peels away.[break][break]

His brow lifts as froakie manages to dodge the blow. “Quick lil dude.” The pidove’s head turns to one side, then the other, at awkward angles as she tries to follow its movements.[break][break]

Her crystallized wings draw her back, before she squeaks away and seemingly dissolves into hiding.[break][break]

Darkness fans around the Pokémon, and the little bird reappears from behind the froakie as she SHADOW
SNEAKS from a blind side.

remembering how he lost his battle against kyle lopez, his focus snaps back to the battle with lam logan, not allowing the lilycove gym leader any opportunities to pull out a win.[break][break]

Obviously, his focus has slipped too much, though. Pops keeps taking hits, so he snaps back to attention. Maybe they can still pull it back.[break][break]

The squeaky chirp the pidove lets out as she’s smacked back to the ground makes Lam grimace. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, huh?” he says of the repeated move.[break][break]
