With his arrival, a quick salute his way, she reveals herself. "Hello! Name's Genny!" She's smirking. At the ready. "Give me your best, kay?" Seven matches in, she hasn't lost any of her momentum.[break][break]

Gerald arrived in time for his next battle. His opponent seemed far too peppy in their greeting for his liking. Still, knowing his little sister was watching the match made Gerald put in the effort to be kind.

He raised a leisurely hand in a greeting-wave as he said. “The name is Gerald. And I will give you my best if you give me yours.”

The Absol trotting alongside him made its way into the arena, ready and eager to get the fight underway.

Her opponent waved back, and Genny was about to get peppier, until... the Absol. Her heart sinks low. Looked just like her. A quieter, more subdued smile takes the place of her joyous energy. With a nod back, she moves to ruffle Gordo's head, before the fight begins.[break][break]

Tears prick her eyes. "You got it."[break][break]

Returning Gordo to his ball, and releasing him out with a DYNAMAX, the armadillo expands in size behind her, exploding out with a loud squeak, before Genny holds an arm out. "Let it loose, Gordo!"[break][break]

With the first attack, a MAX ROCKFALL, rocks and boulders began to move downwards, intent to rain upon the Absol, unless they do anything, kicking up a SANDSTORM.[break][break]

Gerald noticed the drop in pep. While a tiny part of him felt happy, the sudden change did cause him to consider the reasons behind it and if he could use it to his advantage.

But that was a lot of ifs, and for now he had to gauge his opponent’s battle prowess.

Absol took to the arena, only for both trainer and Pokemon to be taken by surprise as their opponent recalled their pokemon only for it to be released as a giant. Now it was Gerald’s turn to have a moment. He didn’t know why, but something about the Pokemon´s size, the monstrous size welled up memories from a life lived, or was it merely a dream dreamt? At this point he no longer knew.

With a quick shake of his head composed himself.

“Amabilia, do not hold back!” And with that the Absol engulfed itself in the Pokemon-worlds version of a sailor-moon transformation. The now MEGA Absol quickly charged at the giant, DOUBLE TEAM images hopefully keeping it from being hit by the massive rocks that fell upon her as she sought to deliver a serious NIGHT SLASH.

Gordo could tell her trainer wasn't in it full, but now wasn't the time to think that through. With the massive rockstorm going, and kicking up the SANDSTORM, Gordo knew better by this round then to think he was in the clear, Genny too. The DOUBLE TEAM and NIGHT SLASH combo took them both for a ride, but now they saw it.[break][break]

"Throw the spikes!" Genny yells out, with Gordo slapping two big fists into the ground, utilizing a MAX STEELSPIKE to try and limit Amabilia's movements, and cause damage. But... remembering how Serenity died, her pupils constrict, and her face riddles in guilt... "W-WAIT, GORDO, ST-"[break][break]

The sandstorm started raging and Gerald noticed how it was tearing at the ghastly apparitions of Double Team. Luckily it seemed to still do the job for now as Mega Absol delivered its attack. But he knew it Wouldn’t last.

“Don’t waste energy on Double Team in this sandstorm!” He instructed the Mega Absol.

But the Sandstorm was not the only thing they had to worry about. Spikes of Steel tore through the ground. Mega Absol did it’s best to dodge dive around the spikes moving ever toward her opponent in hopes to deliver another Mega-infused NIGHT SLASH.

Defeat by a thousand cuts had worked before, surely it would work again?

Genny's heart sunk lower, until the Mega Absol dodged and dove between and around the spikes, the redhead able to breathe again. The fear he felt was multiplied ten times over, but once it was over? She was a lot better. Unfortunately, that NIGHT SLASH had done worse to Gordo than Genny imagined.[break][break]

Best to throw it back then. "QUAKE!" And with it, as the last of the Dynamax went off, the MAX QUAKE begins to tear into the ground below the Absol.[break][break]

Genny shouldn't be worrying about their Pokemon right now.[break][break]

The Mega-Absol had provided a powerful boost necessary against the huge Pokemon. But such power would not last forever. The transformation faded on its own while Absol was moving around.

But being without its mega form did not stop the Absol from swiftly scurrying around on the battlefield doing its best to dodge the worst attacks.

Its strategy had been set. The next attack would be another NIGHT SLASH, hopefully delivered in passing as to avoid retaliation. But clearly the Max Quake summoned as a last resort before the Dynamax ended was powerful and hard to avoid!

Both the Dynamax and the Mega disappear, and with them, as the now tinier armadillo lands onto the ground, Gordo immediately spins into the dirt. That last NIGHT SLASH had winded him, but not enough to stop the advance.[break][break]

Battle wasn't over, and as the armadillo races forward, speeding with SAND RUSH, he attempts an immediately collision via ROLLOUT to hit his Absol foe.[break][break]

Now that the Dynamax was over, and the Absol was mostly okay... Genny breathes a sigh of relief.[break][break]

Absol was feeling the effect of the battle. Its body was aching from the damages wrought upon it, not only by the previous attacks but by the Max Quake. The tide was turning and as the Sandshrew lost its size it became quite the harder target to hit.

But Absol wasn’t going to give up. It took a deep breath, as much as it could, and tried to compose itself. The Rollout was coming straight for it. Its best chance was to dodge and deliver the NIGHT SLASH at the last possible moment.

That was the plan, but that Sandshrew sure was going fast.

It still wasn't over yet, but it seemed all of the DYNAMAX Gordo did have slowed down Amabilia by a good deal. Though, the same could be said the opposite side. Gordo wasn't on his last legs, a thanks in part by the stamina DYNAMAX gave, but the Sandshrew was trying to keep his composure.[break][break]

The duo definitely were powerful in their own right, but Gerald was no pushover. By time the NIGHT SLASH connects, though not the cleanest hit, it does leave Gordo teetering closer to the fainting edge.[break][break]

For the first time, Genny takes a new strat.[break][break]

"Dig! Keep her guessing, Gordo!" And immediately, the armadillo begins to dig down... leaving the Absol to a silent arena.[break][break]

Now. All that mattered was timing. If Gordo could get the jump on this Absol, the match was Genny's. But it came at a gamble. A DIG that could set this match to its conclusion.[break][break]

He had to give it to Genny. She was putting up a fight. Not that he liked that, it was honestly a bit annoying. But he had to give credit where it was due.

Absol was far too busy dealing with the tiring of her body. It was growing heavy, she was taking too many hits, The Dynamax attacks, the Rollout. Honestly it was all too much and she was surprised she was still standing. She knew that the next hit could very well be her last.

She prepared herself both mentally and physically to try to dodge the incoming attack. But the Rollout she expected never came. The Sandshrew had dug into the ground.

Not good. Gerald thought before speaking up. “Tear the ground apart with Stone Edge!”

A short moment later Absol let spikes of stone tear up from the Arena floor. Hopefully the sudden change in the ground would reveal the Sandshrew, and if not at least make it incapable of hitting them.

That Absol knew exactly where to aim, and Genny's face was riddled with sweat, as she could feel her heart beating in her ear. As the STONE EDGE had done its damage to Gordo, the armadillo rolls backwards, wobbling on his last set of legs. He hadn't expected the Absol to see him coming, and neither did Genny.[break][break]

No matter what happened now... this would be it.[break][break]

"Use her speed against her, buddy!" With the SANDSTORM ending via Max Rockfall now... Gordo was slower. Meaning, a good GYRO BALL might take the W.[break][break]

Only time would tell though. Genny's grinning the whole time.[break][break]

This seemed to be a common occurrence for him. His matches dragged on, becoming contests of endurance rather than strength. While Gerald didn’t like it, he would bottle up that feeling and hide it real good.

Absol looked unsteady on her feet. Gerald noticed the limping of fatigue, the heavy breathing. “I know you can do it, just one more attack!” He called out his voice concerned not only for the Absol, but for victory itself.

Hearing these reassuring words gave Absol the willpower to steady her feet, to muster what little strength remained in her battered body. Her eyes now filled with steely resolve gazed upon the Gyro Ball. She could not dodge it. But she could meet it with an attack of her own.

Her claws began to shine eerie dark purple as she charged forward with what strength she had to deliver one final NIGHT SLASH.
