Lucia walked into the battle court and noticed another gym leader present as Cian's bright smile would greet her. Another surprise while participating inside of this tournament, being the second gym leader she's encountered.

"Y-Ya-You-You're..." she stammered out, beginning to have problems focusing on the match again. Her nerves made this rather hard to introduce herself. She was going up against a Gym Leader here! But she had to say something!

"Cian Maher, Rustboro Gym Leader! I'm Lucia and I wanna be a Pokemon Master!"

She blurted out rapidly and quickly tossed out her choice of pokemon while covering her face. Her Dunsparce came out and wriggled around in front of Lucia, who was still suffering from secondhand embarrassment. She hoped nobody was filming...

"Ummmm...l-let's have a good battle!..."

Lucia thought to herself. She felt happy to find another person who shared her dream, but wasn't he already there?

Her Dunsparce countered the sudden Hydro Pump with an ANCIENT POWER of his own, launching a mysterious energy at the Froakie.

he can't help but rave about the champion to Lucia Aldrete as kyle deserves the best after all he's done for cian.[break][break]

met with ANCIENT POWER, froakie tries to dodge but ends up getting clipped. it lets out a croak of pain before closing the distance to SMACK DOWN into dunsparce.[break][break]

Lucia shook her head at Cian's question. She had only just arrived in the region and knew of the important people that one should know. She had to wonder what he was like.

"Uh, n-not really...I just got to Hoenn." she admitted with a frown. "Do you know him? Is he nice?"

Dunsparce watched as the Froakie approached with an attack on their own. Hero readied himself as his tail stinger would glow with the same white energy. It increased by several sizes and let out an audible "whirr" as he charged forward to meet Froakie's incoming attack.

even if that isn't true, it's always good to give the impression that the champion is busy. it would not be a good look for the league otherwise.[break][break]

focusing on the battle with Lucia Aldrete, froakie meets the audible whirr with one of its own, charging up as it does not back down from its SMACK DOWN. the two butt heads, though it's unclear which side comes out on top.[break][break]

The Dunsparce had been fully hit by the SMACK DOWN, sending it bouncing back a little while rattling to signal that it was ready and willing to fight! The Froakie continued to come at the pokemon and charged forward to ~~DRAGON RUSH~~ the Froakie.

"It makes sense, being important and all..." Lucia said, frowning at Cian for a moment before her eyes went back to her Dunsparce. "Be careful, Hero!"

hero the dunsparce is not careful enough as DRAGON RUSH takes it toward froakie who's able to slip away from the attack. in turn, it uses dunsparce's momentum to wrap its tongue around it, LICKING it up into the air before slamming it down into the ground.[break][break]

The Froakie's sudden wrapping had trapped Hero bad. The DUnsparce was helpess while he was smashed back into the ground while Lucia was powerless to watch.

"Hero!" she ran half way into the battlefield while a plume of smoke covered everything. But what caused her to freeze was the sound of what sounded like a power drill. Through the thick dust, the Dunsparce had charged at the Froakie with a surprise HYPER DRILL!

caught off guard as well, froakie can't do much against the DRILL RUN that slams into it, hard enough to knock the wind and more out. froakie spits out a bit of water as it hits the ground.[break][break]

not doubting froakie, cian knows to trust his little pokemon. they will walk away with the win against Lucia Aldrete.[break][break]

nodding, froakie struggles back up and spits out one final HYDRO PUMP.[break][break]

The Dunsparce grunted in pain while it had been successful in attacking in its wounded state. He was still putting up a fight despite the fight going on long. The Froakie looked to be in the same state, while it would launch one final HYDRO PUMP. Dunsparce would give it his all and launch one final ANCIENT POWER at his enemy.
