"Bleeeh! Kama's the best whether she wins or not!" He declared boldly, before grinning as he swept his arm. "Not that she'll lose though! Go get 'em, Kama! Show 'em who's boss!"

Her spirit kindled into a blaze by the high praise, Kama reeled back and roared before lunging for the other Kama, rushing the Toxicroak before suddenly blurring out of view, moving quickly to before suddenly attempting to shoulder-check her opponent from the side.

Surprisingly, Kama's first blow landed heavily, her opponent sent to the very edges of the arena.

Huh. How lucky! Usually, things didn't go well for her when Doug ran his mou—

"KUGH!" And there it was.

Skipping over the arena like a pebble over a lake's surface, Kama just barely avoided getting rung out by spreading her wings wide, flapping them wildly whilst pinwheeling her arms madly to keep herself short of falling.

"Well, yeah; hopefully it doesn't go like that every time, though!" Doug said while scratching the back of his neck, looking at Kama with a measure of worry.

Mostly for her ego; if it kept getting as much of a beating as she was in this tourney, he feared she really might retire for good.

Shaking off her ringing head, Kama eyed her newly crowned opponent wearily whilst lowering her stance, slowly rounding around the Toxicroak while keeping a healthy distance.

With a growl, she suddenly leapt in the air, her arms blurring briefly before a boom rocked the arena, sending walls of air hurtling towards her opponent.

Was that sarcasm? He didn't think Noah was the kind, but given how things were going for them, it certainly felt tongue in cheek.

He decided to stick his tongue out at the other man just in case.

Meanwhile, Kama had gotten herself outplayed in the air, getting smacked back down to the arena by a powerful blow. The angle this time hadn't turned her into a skipping stone, but it had just about made her into a pancake.

Rolling onto her side and back to her feet with a groan, the Scyther shook her head sharply before glaring at her opponent, her temper beginning to rise.

A surge of energy rushed through her as the crystal at Doug's wrist began to glow, a crimson shine shimmering brightly around her scythes as she began to spin in place, generating a localized storm inside the arena!

It had taken much struggling and pretty much all resources available to her, but finally, Kama had managed to land something resembling a solid blow on her opponent, much to her relief.

She got mud bombed and had her wings all but clipped for her troubles, but hey— a hit was a hit. She would take it.

Stumbling on her feet as she finished spinning, her wings heavy with muddy clingings, the Scyther gave her opponent a tired glare before squaring up her shoulders and launching at the toxicroak.

What, can't fly? Whatever, have you seen her moveset?! She's got three fighting-type moves for a reason!

It was time to grit their teeth and hunker down.

Doug didn't enjoy watching fights anymore; not when they got rough and tumble. But there was a beauty to watching Kama put her everything into it. Every bit of spirit, every piece of experience, every fiber of her being, all focused for the singular goal of winning a match.

It was everything he knew and loved about her; her pride, her stubbornness, her determination, her recklessness, her courage.

With a fast beating heart, Doug gathered everything he had in him and shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice rising over the cacophony of clashing blows, broken earth and splintering stone.

"GOOO, KAMAAA!"

Kama stumbled back as her opponent fell with a dramatic burst of crystal, the bug's legs buckling underneath her weight as the adrenaline carrying her before began to ebbed away, leaving behind exhaustion and elation wrapped up in one.

Even more so when a familiar pair of arms came up from behind to pick her up, yanking her off the floor with an exhilarated cheer.

"Child of a gun, ya really pulled that off!" He boomed as he tried throwing her in the air. Unfortunately, he could not throw 120 pounds of weight up, so the body came back down almost immediately. "O-woah!"

They stumbled about like drunkyards, before sprawling on the court gracelessly.

Kama could only groan, and Doug could only laugh.

After a moment, he forced himself to sit up, laying a hand on Kama's shoulder once again to begin the healing process— before pointing a digit Noah's Kama's way, shooting some healing scales as well.

Rising back up, he patted the dirt off his ass before grinning brightly at Noah.

"Hoooey! Been a while now since I saw Kama at her best like that. Think I'll be buying the CD reels for that one's soon as I'm outta'ere!" He said, holding out his hand to Noah. "Thanks for the match, man. That was really fun."
