Amongst the glistening treetops of Fortree City, rested an aged two-story house that appeared to have been overtaken by the forces of Mother Nature. Thick spiraling branches and vines made it impossible to differentiate between the building and the tree. Various patches of natural flora and fungi sprouted around the house. Overall the appearance of the building would give one the impression of it being long forgotten and abandoned, a relic within the city that lives in harmony with nature.

But the building was far from abandoned; this was where her long-awaited ten-year dream would spring to life. The interior of the building had been completely transformed from a regular home into a cozy restaurant. The theme remained in alignment with the element of nature, the furniture looked rather simple but they were created using recyclable materials. There were also a few sun windows in place which made use of natural lighting instead of electricity.

The walls of the restaurant were decorated with large oil-pastel paintings depicting pokemon from various regions and the simple beauty of nature. Overall creating an idyllic and warm atmosphere for her patrons to enjoy.

At long last Wendy would be able to open the doors of her restaurant, ever since she woke up this morning she could not stop smiling from excitement. It was hard to describe her feelings of opening her dream restaurant in the city which held her heart. Wendy paced around the kitchen ensuring that everything was ready. When she felt confident she turned on the open sign and began to wait for her first-ever customers.

After a few hours passed, there were still no signs of potential patrons. Wendy rested her arms against the oak hostess desk "Maybe I should have sent out some more advisements. " She said as a light joke to her foongus who squeaked innocently in response.

When a customer did show up, they would be welcomed by a large hand-written overhanging sign. In elegant cursive letters, the sign read: "Anyone and everyone is welcome at The Roots.

A STRAY PIKACHU had led him through the streets of FORTEE CITY, weaving through canopy-shaded alleyways and beneath the tunnel-like pathways of large tree roots. Amazingly enough, it had helped Remiel Calcifet lose the TEAM ROCKET hitmen who had been trailing him. Eventually, the unlikely pair find themselves at the entrance to a restaurant: ROOT.[break][break]

The Pikachu that had guided the prince here confidently saunters in first. Remiel tentatively follows in behind it, unsure whether or not this two-story home is really what it said it was. And, if that, whether it was actually in business. From the look of things, it seemed only he and the wild Pokémon that had brought him here were present.[break][break]

While the latter emits a polite 'chu' before advancing towards a table of its choosing, however, Remiel stops at the hostess desk to greet the restaurant's employee. "Greetings. Do you allow Pokémon inside? It seems my friend here is hungry for a bite to eat." He states, casting a nod in the Pikachu's direction before casually looking over his shoulder.[break][break]

The lack of patrons did not bother her. She was still euphoric with the fact that her dreams were coming to life, Wendy also knew that things would not always start perfectly. And she would be quite the fool to let this small blunder deter her from chasing her dreams. She continued to wait patiently softly humming a tune to herself while reorganizing the menus.

It was then that she heard a familiar cry. She quickly glances down and her expression lights up with delight to see one of her favorite resident pikachu's return to her restaurant. Upon the Pikachu's arrival Wendy's foongus squeaks happily leaping off the hostess stand to greet the pikachu,"Welcome back, Happy to see you again." She calls out to the pikachu watching with a smile as the pair scamper away to their usual spot in the restaurant.

What Wendy did not expect was to see a person follow behind the pikachu. She had been so distracted by her other guest that she almost didn't notice him until he spoke up.

"Welcome to The Root! Of course, anyone is welcome here. Please make yourself comfortable and I will be right with you." Wendy greets Remiel in a warm and hospitable manner smiling towards the man as he walks into the dining area. Swiftly grabbing a menu she briskly walks over to the kitchen to grab the Pikachu's favorite food.

In a manner of minutes, Wendy arrives to the table where they sat. Nudging a bowl of colorful pokeblocks and pokebeans glazed with the sweet nectar of combee towards the pikachu and foongus. Wendy then hands over a delicately designed menu to Remiel, she offers a polite smile. "Please let me know if you have any questions on the menu. "

The following items would be listed on the menu:

1. Sacred Earth - Fresh basil, strawberries, pecha berry seeds, lettuce leaves, and cucumbers tossed in a delicate olive oil dressing created by Arboliva.

2. Forest Secrets - A platter of fresh fruits grown and harvested from tropius lightly glazed with honey made by vespiqueen and combee

3. Ocean Waves - Delicately pan-seared Veluza meat lightly glazed with octillery ink and includes a side of roasted chestoberries and rice made from Cheriberries.

4. Sun-Scorch - Hand-tossed 10inch veggie pizza, uses yeast from fidough, toppings include black olives, roasted purple onion, sweet potato crust, diced red peppers, covered in chesto berry sauce and cheese created from milktanks.

The PIKACHU is less of a stranger to the woman than he thinks. After Remiel has taken his seat and perused the menu, he watches as she treats the wild electric mouse to some treats. "Is this one a regular, then?" He inquires with a smile as he gazes down upon it. "He saved me from some trouble just earlier. His tab is on me for today."[break][break]

Though watching the yellow critter happily scarf down Pokéblocks was endearing, however, the royal eventually turns his attention back to the hostess herself. "Is there anything you would recommend on the human side of things?"

"Indeed he is." Wendy responds with a delighted smile. The ambassador mentions how the pikachu saved him from running into trouble, and while her expression looked curious by what he meant she decided not to press him on it further. "My how generous of you." Wendy laughs softly quickly glancing over towards the pikachu signaling a thumbs up. "Eat as much as you'd like! This gentleman says it's on him today." The pikachu cries out ecstatically devouring the rest of the food.

Wendy turns her attention back towards Remiel upon his inquiry. "I would recommend our oceanwaves special." She smiles confidently once she gave him the recommendation, fully confident in her skills as a chef.

Her smile inspires one of his own. And, naturally, the prince nods. "The Oceanwaves Special for me, then," He replies, closing the menu shut and sliding it across the table before leaning forward with one last addition. "And a sweetened iced tea."[break][break]

With another glance around the empty restaurant, however, the royal continues before long. "If you're not busy right now... maybe you'll join me? They say food is always better with company." Remiel suggests with a playful gleam in his eye.[break][break]

Thrilled to finally have a first order in, Wendy smiles bigger then last time. "Right away" She responds chirpily, reaching over to grab the menu from him. "Of course" She nods affirmatively acknowledging his drink request and begins to walk towards the kitchen.

His comment causes her to look back, slightly surprised but her pleased expression does not vanish. What a generous offer! but I'm afraid I have to decline, I do have a meal to cook after all." Wendy responds with subtle laugher "Don't you worry though, It will be out sooner than you expect." With the final reassurance, she swiftly shuffles off into the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen awaited Wendy's pansear. She tells him the good news and then makes a request for him to fulfill. "Homura, we have our very first guest! Can you please bring him a glass of sweet tea?" Homura nods diligently and quickly pours a glass of fresh sweet tea. Walking from the kitchen with glass in hand the pansear approaches Remiel in a distinguished manner.

Carefully setting the glass down the pansear dips his head towards remiel respectfully. He then begins to head back towards the kitchen - when suddenly the restaurant began to shake violently. Nearby plates and glasses fell from the tables, shattering as they hit the ground. Homura alongside the rest of the pokemon panic and retreat towards the back of the restaurant.

Wendy then rushes out of the kitchen in a frenzy. "Are you alright?!" She calls out towards Remiel almost falling down from the violent shaking but managing to keep herself stable by holding onto a nearby counter.

Though disheartened by her response, Remiel addresses the hostess with a smile. "No problem. I'm sure the meal will be great." Afterward, he spends his time waiting keeping an eye on the entrance. Every so often, he turns to look at the curious Pikachu that had brought him here. It seems smugly amused by his failed attempt at a lunch date. He narrows his eyes at it and raises a brow.[break][break]

It isn't long after the local PANSEAR delivers his iced tea, however, that the earth beneath their feet begins to violently shake. Reactively, Remiel casts a LIGHTNING STILETTO across the room before TELEPORTING to it to face the door. The Pikachu, on the other hand, darts away to hide beneath a different table and waits out the quake.[break][break]

When Wendy Peterson comes rushing inside, she doesn't find the royal at his table anymore: instead, he's standing on the counter with another crackling lightning bolt in his hand, aiming it at the doors as he struggles to keep balance. "Miss! I don't know what's going on yet but go find safety!" He urges her as dishes crash upon the floor nearby.[break][break]
