He laughed, the ring on his finger weighty enough to just let him brush aside that comment.

Now if he had mentioned Virizion instead...

"It takes one to know one, yes?" He says with a twinkle in his eye, smiling at the other man. "I've been well, thank you."

Whatever had happened between them— or more accurately, between them and Eva Morales— he still respected the other man, from the couple times they had worked together.

"And it is good to see you in good health as well, Matias." He said as a silhouette flew over the stadium, briefly blotting out the sun in the sky and casting and a vast shadow upon them— before landing besides Gwyar.

Lancelette the Corviknight was ready to scrap.

"Has the tournament treated you well so far?" He asked as his Corviknight turned to face her opponent.

He smiles. "I wouldn't dream of it."

Few ever got the opportunity to fight the Elite 4— best to make the most of it.

As his opponent's partner lumbered forward, Gwyar found his head craning back to look up in awe.

"Never once thought I would ever witness such a sight outside of the Galar Circuit." He said somewhat wistfully.

Powerspots, Wishing stars and Dynamax energy... all things that had once been wholly unique to Galar, found nowhere else in the world— now, little more than another weapon in the arms race between League & Rocket.

Besides him, Lancelette stared up at her titan of an opponent unflinchingly, spreading her wings wide before launching into the air with a single flap, kicking up a dust storm as she rose.

Her wings weaved and her talons kicked as gemstones flew through the air in an attempt to shoot her down, her steel armor deflecting a few that came dangerously close.

As her breast plate dented, the Corviknight decided she couldn't afford to wait any longer, dropping towards the giant Meowth with a blazing haze rapidly enveloping her, turning her into a living missile as she charged her opponent.

BRAVE BIRD proves to be the response Gwyar Wledig needs to contend with meowth's POWER GEM. corviknight breaks through the attack, able to damage meowth enough to take away a life.[break][break]

His gauntlet clapped like thunder as the keystone within it ignited, the surge of power enveloping the avian in a dark, hazy egg just as lightning struck.

It was a rather dramatic visual, the thunder dancing along its surface as it began to crack and splinter, 5 dark steel drones flying out first and blasting away at the feline titan with stinging shots.

The true body raced out of the egg whilst steaming, the heated haze around Lancelette shimmering as her wings glowed and extended, gaining a steel sheen as she raced for her opponent's sides.

TL;DR:
-Gwyar used mega evolution.
-Lancelette used Steel Wing!

There was little to be done when an opponent so massive began to rampage before her, save for mobilizing all of her drones and her own defenses.

The numerous steel drones shifted to try and combat the Meowth's strikes, throwing themselves recklessly into its path as Lancelette's wings shone brightly once again.

Raising her defenses, she attempted to weave around the other pokemon's attacks while's striking at outstretched limbs— a risky endeavor that was more likely to blow up in her face than it was to reap the desired results.

Gwyar remained silent from his side of the field, staring up at the maneuvering Lancelette with a critical eye.

The mega evolution ceases shortly after their latest clash, leaving Lancelette to fight the titan in less than ideal conditions once again.

Attacks keep coming without pause, the signs of an aggressive opponent that knows it has the advantage. The best the Corviknight could do was remain steadfast and fight despite the odds, attempting to dart under an oncoming shadow claw in order to pluck at the opponent's face, going for the middle space between their eyes.

with MEGA EVOLUTION fading, the battle becomes more even which is an odd thing to say considering how meowth is still stuck in its DYNAMAX form.[break][break]

with only one life remaining, he watches meowth swipe SHADOW CLAWS up to try and contend with PLUCK. he just might lose this battle against @gywar.[break][break]

Gwyar doesn't seem to realize or care how close the fight is.

Lancelette, however, appeared a little too conscious of how close the match was, how soon things could take a turn for the worse. Each gargantuan swipe was becoming harder to dodge as she tries to grow closer to her opponent.

Nothing left but to swallow her nerves and go balls to the walls, though. The fiery haze surrounds her as she charges in at top speed once again, attempting to maneuver under another shadow claw to ram into her opponent's midsection.
