Some part must be because of the little training sessions she's been having with Isaac Merlo. Even now, she wonders if he's somewhere in the crowd watching her blitz through this tournament without the slightest hint of slowing down. It was anyone’s guess as to how this match would go.[break][break]
Early enough into her own string of matches, Blue has seen both wins and some losses. Maybe more of the latter rather than the former, but she’s undeterred by the stats. And she definitely isn’t about to underestimate her competition.[break][break]
Even when they’re way younger than she is.[break][beak]
Honestly, those are some of the tougher opponents to go up against. Definitely for the likes of herself, who has only ever trained her pokemon as a means of helping her in work and to get by, rather than for formal battling. All of this..? It’s new.[break][break]
Blue’s expression, normally severe and stoic, cracks the tiniest bit for the girl who stands in front of her now. The hint of a smile, a real one, worms its way to the corner of her mouth and she lifts a hand to wave back. She remembers being a girl like that once, and how tough she had it. Even then.[break][break]
Blue hopes that is not the same for her.[break][break]
But that does not mean she will go easy in this match. Her mightyena takes the pitch up ahead of her, fur glimmering with the crystalline shards of poison tera-typing.

Blue has to wonder at how this girl will match up against her. In all likelihood—she’ll probably be far better at a spirited match than she herself is. She's never been formally trained, after all.[break][break]
But she’ll still do her best to provide some…fun? That’s what these are meant to be like, right?[break][break]
The wooper that pops free of its pokeball looks like a little squeaky toy next to her mightyena, but it’s kinda pretty cute. Bonnie’s head tilts to a sharp angle as she looks down at it.[break][break]
Only to stumble back with a yelp as it spits poisonous goop at her.[break][break]
She paws at her snout and shakes off the rest woozily, but darts forward after a beat with a snapping CRUNCH aimed at the lil guy.

Had to hand it to her - this is one tough wooper. Rather than scurry from Bonnie's attacks, it squares up and puts all of its weight into the punch it lands on her. Popping the mightyena square on the snout with eye-watering force.[break][break]

Startled, her jaws open up again to let out a startled BORK of sound, and in doing so, snaps back with another, flimsier CRUNCH on the tough lil guy.

Having touched Wooper poison herself, Eris knows that it always begins with that tingly, numb sensation. And even though the Mightyena is able to bite down on Pips' tail, he ends it with one last empowered headbutt.[break][break]

"You did it, Pips! I'm so proud of you!" Scooping the Wooper up with open arms, Eris briefly glances over the various bite marks and scratches left before looking over to her opponent.[break][break]
