Onto another match. Maybe she was starting to get the hang of his. Some of her nerves settled. Though only a little bit. She didn’t feel quite so anxious as she stepped forward this time–prepared to face off against a new opponent.[break][break]
“Hello,” she said, the half-hearted attempt to be cordial paired with an awkward, but not unfriendly smile. She just…wasn’t good at being social. Not that it was this opponent’s fault.[break][break]
She regarded the other individual with a determined nod of her head as her mightyena strode forward–taking her place in a crouch as she waited for the signal to begin the battle. Blue, for her part, activated a tera orb in hand to envelop the canine. She came away bathed in the glow of poison terastalization.

Makoto sees a bit of themself in Blue, as she stands at the other end of the battlefield. That shy, awkward, uncertainty - trying to simply figure out and follow whatever script there is for social interactions.

As she greets them though, they'd offer a gentle smile - somehow finding themself relaxed by the prior observation - and respond with a "Hello," Much like Blue, they pull out a Tera Orb of their own - ready to terastallize Tsukiko.

Tsukiko, meanwhile, drops into a playbow; the Ninetales being visibly enthused to fight!

Much like Bonnie, Tsukiko would take on the poison typing - soft lavender fur becoming a sickly-bright purple. Makoto hadn't had much a chance to really put this particular typing to use, and figured no better time to give it a try than now.

It’s a bit of a relief to see that there are others like her out here competing. People who aren’t too chatty, or are perhaps, a bit too shy to be very outgoing. It eases some of the nervousness that flutters in her chest.[break][break]
Her returning smile is similar to theirs. A small, timid thing, but not unfriendly.[break][break]
“Oh, they match,” she remarks observationally – curious to see how two poison tera types will hold up against one another.[break][break]
Bonnie’s tail swishes back and forth a few times as she crouches in turn, clearly pleased with the ninetail’s proper greeting. For a moment, they mirror one another before the go ahead is given.[break][break]
Then Blue whistles and Bonnie darts forward, front paws lifting as she pulls up into a half-jump. Pouncing at the other canid as she tries to play rough with them.

Much like how Makoto and Blue saw something kindred in one another, Tsukiko and Bonnie had their similarities as well! The fox was visibly enthused at Bonnie's friendly reception - her own tails wagging aplenty. This was going to be fun!

And as Bonnie charges in with a Play Rough, Tsukiko is eager to try and catch the Mightyena by surprise. Her tails would light up with violet draconic flames - which she'd then try and swing at Bonnie in a Dragon Hammer..!

Although, Makoto could already see from here that Bonnie was going to give Tsukiko some problems to start... This Mightyena was a strong Fido, just at a glance.

It proved much more fun for Bonnie to spar against the ninetails, it seemed, than it had with other opponent’s pokemon. Perhaps because the ninetails reminded her of the alolan vulpix that Blue kept at home–a gift courtesy of Shinra Moro. Though they used attacks, it seemed much more like excited play.[break][break]

The sight was enough to bring a wider smile to Blue’s otherwise impassive expression, and some of that excitement began to rub off on the trainer. The DRAGON HAMMER certainly caught the mightena off guard. The swing sent her skidding, but she popped back up quickly enough and she shook out her fur–violet crystals clinking together.[break][break]

Bonnie’s head tipped back with a short howl before she charged in on Tsukiko, paws out to batter at her with a SUCKER PUNCH.

The Dragon Hammer doesn't seem to phase Bonnie for very long, even if Tsukiko had the element of surprise. As the Sucker Punch comes in, she's left more than open to it - and the fox yelps a bit, stumbling back from the battering strikes before she manages to leap away to disengage from melee range.

Despite starting this fight off on the back foot though, Tsukiko is eager to try and steal the advantage. She lets out a yowling call of her own, before she lets loose a Tera Blast at Bonnie - in the form of a poisonous breath! She has the hope that she can overwhelm the Mightyena at range...

The TERA BLAST that comes certainly catches Bonnie at close range before she can leap away. The mightyena stumbles on staggering paws as the noxious cloud muddles up her senses. A low whine rumbles in her throat as she tries to shake off the attack.[break][break]
Despite the fuzziness in her head from the toxicity, she retaliates with a poison attack of her own—lunging in to nip at Tsukiko with POISON FANGS.

Tsukiko grins as she's able to even the playing field - tails swishing eagerly. She just had to keep pressing the advantage, and surely she'd have this win in the bag!

However, there came the question of Bonnie's retaliatory attack - poisonous fangs bared! Tsukiko would attempt to dodge and dance around the Mightyena to avoid those nipping teeth, and would swing out with another Dragon Hammer in turn to try and force Bonnie to back off!

Bonnie’s lips pull back to reveal sharp teeth in a mirrored grin. Just because she’d leveled things out, doesn’t mean the mightyena intended to keep it that way. Her paws dug in, claws sinking into the earth to hold her ground.[break][break]

She holds her fanged grip for as long as she can, but rolls back when the DRAGON HAMMER collides with her to send her skidding back. She curls in on herself for a moment, then springs out! Charging at Tsukiko, to TAKE DOWN her opponent.

As Bonnie launches forward, she is able to slam into Tsukiko - the attack coming much too quicky for the fox to react! The two canids are sent tumbling, Tsukiko yelping out as she's struck; coming to a stop a short distance away.

Once they're no longer rolling, Tsukiko is quick to try and disengage - scrambling to her paws, even as she panted. The wag of her tails was still a signal that she was enjoying herself, even while the back foot, though.

Eager to try and regain the advantage though, she'd let loose a Blizzard - releasing a howling storm of ice and snow upon Bonnie!

Though the snow envelops them and whips around them with biting cold, when it slowly begins to subside, Bonnie remains on her feet—prepared to issue another attack should it call for it.[break][break]
Blue waves her back though, whistling softly to cut sharp through the gale. “You’ve done enough.” She taps the vital gear as she looks at her mightyena with an amused, but pointed look. She scratches at Bonnie’s ears as her attention moves back to her opponent across the field.[break][break]
Her smile grows from that awkward shyness of before—just a little, as she watches them. “That was a good match. Your ninetails is so elegant.” Blue? Giving a compliment? Perhaps lechonk had learned to fly.
