No luck this time around.

The Night Slash misses the Scizor be mere inches thanks to its swift reaction, leaving her Zoroark hanging in thin air, open to the Bullet Punch it cannot seem to dodge. Each hit strikes through all across its body, prompting the illusionary fox to fight back, throwing a flurry of Night Dazes to counter the Scizor's assault.

And a second time it is smashed into the ground as the Brutal Swing hits true. It struggles in the Scizor's grip, thrashing about to break free, to no avail as its iron grip clings to it like a vice.

Zoroark's movements become wilder, unkempt and brazen, the glare of a Scary Face cast at its opponent. Balling its fists it tries to strike at the Scizor's chest once more, hoping to break free now it feels how its own power is waning quickly.

Yet again, another Night Daze pulsates from its core, maybe this time more it will prove more effective than the last.

And this time, it hits cleanly.

Even when Scizor resists its push to remain clashing with Zoroark, it does what it needs to do in his time of need. The illusionary fox's confidence grows when its azure glare makes the steel bug falter; and when it resumes with Steel Bullet, Zoroark replies in kind, a series of Night Slashes colliding with every steeled punch it throws.

Zoroark attemps to grab hold of both pincers, hoping to push them aside and land a well-aimed Foul Play into the Scizor's unprotected body if it succeeds.

A hiss escapes her lips as Yvaine takes in the sight of the clash of steel fists against her Zoroark's beaten body. Its Foul Play struck true, but not true enough to make the difference they so badly needed.

With every hit she sees her partner sinking further and further to its knees, until, eventually, it no longer rises.

Defeat. A beam of red recalls the beast to its ball, where it is met with soft whispers of its proud trainer. And then she looks at her opponent, nodding her head in final greeting. "That was a great fight! Congrats to you and your Scizor, Thomas."
