He cocked his head at her, smiling. "This sure does bring back memories, huh?"

Though neither of them was likely to get the gold this time around, tragic as it may be.

Besides him, Kama the Scyther yawned, giving the idol a light nod.

"They should all be glad we ain't event tryin' this year." He finished with a snicker.

"I guess those jokes are for a savvier crowd." He muses to himself, remaining unenthused as Kama stepped forth to go 'come at her'. "Well, nothing bad about giving it yer all."

Better than the people who brought their weaker mons as an excuse, at any rate.

He clapped Kama's back.

"You heard her, yeah? Show 'em what'cha got, champ."

Kama didn't need much more than that, lunging towards the Primarina spiritedly, crossing across the battlefield towards her in the blink of an eye.

It starts off strong, acrobatics. A move she was very familiar with and used often herself as it gave incredible movement. [break][break]

and with a pokemon who didn't move very fast like Primarina, melody had adapted different strategies to handle these types of battlers.[break][break]

"Misty terrain!" she says as suddenly Primarinar erupts in a cloud of pink mist that obscured both battler's visions. It would make the battle a bit more complicated as Melody gives a cheeky wink into the mist. "Now hyper voice!" [break][break]

He wrinkles his nose at the misty terrain, part of him itching to do away with it with his own instead. He ignores it; he isn't sure if such things are allowed in the tourney, but it wouldn't feel fair in a sanctioned match either way.

For her part, Kama grinds to a stop before leaping back, flipping back several times to put space between herself and her opponent's weird, misty surroundings.

The hyper voice stings at her body even from afar; but she's not willing to enter the enemy's terrain just yet.

Her arms blur— before rushing wind blades push away at the mist around, striking for the Primarina.

The vacuum wave starts to push away all of the mist at once, revealing Primarina again. [break][break]

She also cries out in pain as the attack ravages her body all over. Melody stays firm though and gives her next set of orders to the darling diva. "Springtide storm! Enhance yourself!" she orders as Primarina looks to boost her attacking capabilities and unleash a flurry of pink spring petals towards her opponent to try and push back the vacuum wave. [break][break]

Kama attempted to move through the storm, her swords dance seeming to match whatever unheard rhythm it was that Melody and her lot followed.

But rule #1 of fighting was never falling into your opponent's rhythm (don't quote me on that), so...

Before long, the petals had taken her off her feet, sending her hurtling back towards the edge of the arena, her scythes coming down to keep her inside the battlefield.

Panting harshly, Kama lowered her stance and hunkered down for a moment before launching forth yet again, her silhouette blurring as she accelerated to her maximum speed, attempting to barrel right through the mist, the storm and the Primarina all at once.

TL;DR:
-Kama used Swords Dance, then Acrobatics!

Kama defies all odds and managed to avoid every single strike from Melody's previous launch and slammed the idols' primarina [break][break]

The pokemon is sent flying backwards into the arena wall, the sygnasuit trying to minimize some of the damage from the move but it was a devastating blow. Torrent activates as Melody's primarina was quickly approaching a fatigued state. While still pegged into the wall, Primarina unleashes a barrage of bubbles outwards towards Kama, letting them pile up one on top of another until a massive bubble forms and is sent towards the pokemon. [break][break]

Kama had come storming through so fast, she had damn near run into the wall herself, stopping herself short by... tripping and stumbling along the battlefield. Her natural agility kicked in, finding her footing just in time for her opponent to finish gathering herself after the blow.

Since the primarina was just making bubbles, Kama thought it would be a good time to gather her breath and wits...

But.

As it turned out, those bubbles were actually nuclear fucking warheads.

Kama's undignified squawks were drowned (hue) out by the explosiveness of the massive bubbles that had covered the battlefield, the Scyther finding herself trapped in land ocean.

She struggled madly against it, kicking and swinging her scythes at nothing.

And then Doug raised his arm in the air, the Z-crystal upon it gleaming brightly.

The familiar surge of energy welled up within her, Kama's eyes growing wide as she brought her scythes together and released a full powered cross swing, unleashing a storm within the ocean.

TL;DR:
-Kama used the Z-move: Heaven Cleaver!

"Ugh no!!!" she says as Primarina is knocked out by that last attack. She frowns, dissapointed she didn't win but she knew primarina had done it's best to deal with the threats in front of her. [break][break]

"Oh WELL" she exaggerates "Hopefully next time I can pull a fast one over you! Smell ya around, stinkachu." she replies as she recalls the knocked out primarina into it's pokeball for safety. [break][break]

She frowns as she leaves the room, sad she lost to him again.
