"Shall we, then?" He asks the younger, pallid man across the battlefield as Lancelette makes landing onto his side of the battlefield.

He's never seen a young man look quite so out of place amongst... people in general, but he's not here to judge his unkempt looks or general air of antisocialism.

He's just here to battle and clear his head, nothing more. He's sure the youth has his own reasons and demons as well.

"Oh, I say! Spot of tea?", the Unovan mockingly asked the taller man, in a crass imitation of a Galarian accent. Following up on this, the livestreamer, with a camera mounted to his head, let out his infamous snort.

The fact that he acted this way, coupled with his surprisingly youthful appearance, clearly didn't help his case.

The Charizard stared at the Corviknight, before getting into a fighting stance.

For once, Gwyar was somewhat speechless— not so much in shock as in genuinely not being quite sure of what to say to that.

Instead, he lightly cocked his head, regarding the youth with a bit of worry. Was it okay for a young man to be acting like this...? Well, he supposed it wasn't his job to worry but his parent's.

Lancelette nodded at the Charizard briefly, and then the battle began.

With a cry, the Corviknight launched forward, rushing across the field towards the Charizard in a straight line.

The Charizard watched at the Corviknight rushed him in a straight line. Rather than rushing back, the Charizard instead began spinning up a vortex of flame, before throwing the Fire Spin towards the Corviknight.

Blazing flames make the corviknight take a sharp left, wings flapping desperately to avoid the spiraling flames.

Nothing steel types hated more than the heat.

Even after the emergency maneuvers, she still found herself seared across her back, making the flapping of her wings more difficult. With a glower, she dipped lower along the ground, wings scrapping against the soil as they shone like steel, before zeroing in on the Charizard.

The Charizard let out a growl of satisfaction as the Fire Spin managed to not only divert the Corviknight's path, but also sear her back in the process.

As the Corviknight tried to close in for a Steel Wing strike, the Charizard leaped backwards, loosing a Flamethrower towards the avian.

The flames hurt, but her pride didn't let her merely let the whiff go, the avian charging straight through the fire to land her attack, injuries be damned.

For a moment, Gwyar considered interfering, refraining for the moment. Lancelette was letting her ego get the better of her and being reckless against a pokemon with typing advantage. He wasn't aiming to win the tourney, so... best to see if she could learn a lesson out of this.

Unwilling to give up just yet, the steel bird charged forth, flying around the Charizard before suddenly diving forth to the dragon, attempting to ram him into the ground.

The Charizard was sent flying back by the charge. Recovering mid-air, and landing on his feet, the Charizard watched as the Corviknight zipped around him for a moment, before attempting to come crashing down on him.

The Charizard attempted to leap back, and dodge the attack, before jumping back towards the Corviknight, to deliver a brutal Slash to the bird.

That slash hit the burns across her back— right at the worst spot, too. With a squawk, the Corviknight slid across the floor, panting harshly.

At that moment, Gwyar raised his pokeball and returned her, nodding at the younger man.

"Did you understand what happened...?" He whispered lowly to the pokeball, before turning his gaze over to Andrew. "Thank you for the match— I believe she learned a lot from it."

He bowed politely at the man and his Charizard.

"You've a strong partner; I hope you'll continue to do well in the tournament." He said, before turning as he waved. "Have a good day, Mr. Fisher."

A lucky strike on the injured part of the Corviknight's back, and she went down like a sack of bricks. The Charizard cheered, letting out a celebratory bellow of fire towards the sky.

"Fuck yeah!", Andrew cheered, taking out his phone to monitor chat. "Unovan superiority, bitch!"

"I only won because of type advantage? Just like the time I won against your motherfuckin' mom, with the type of sausage I'm packing! She was doubly weak to the length and the girth of this juicy sausage! The fuck out my chat, plebian!", Andrew yelled, as the mods removed the comment, and banned the viewer.
