"i'm free this evening if you'd like to meet me in my bedroom," circe joked before settling in to theo's story.[break][break]

she nodded, as if she were a good listener, all the while making her feeble attempts at the stitching. how was it theo was better than her at this? perhaps it was those skillful hands of his.[break][break]

"i see, so you're an island man. who actually loved his island." she noted his small injury, taking back her thoughts from earlier. "unlike me. i hated dewford. bleh. what a small, boring place." her words were spoken nonchalantly. "can you imagine a person like me living there now?" she puffed out her chest for emphasis and shook her head. "never. it's the city life for me. i've had my eyes keen on unova, to be honest."[break][break]

circe made a small noise. "oh." it seemed she had pricked herself as well.

she's too bright and vibrant, much like a bustling city, so the thought of her living on dewford feels odd, almost out of place.

dabbing his finger into a piece of tissue, he pulls out another piece and offers it to her.

circe accepted the tissue and applied it against the small blood spot. now was a good time for a break, despite not having even accomplished much.[break][break]

"tis why i left in the first place, darling," she spoke in agreement. the idleness that dewford offered had never meshed well with her radiant lifestyle. "perhaps there's just too much water here for my liking," she sighed, half-joking.[break][break]

she finally decided to hop off of the workstation and displayed herself in front of theo, legs sprawled out and hand at her hip. "by talents, i can only imagine you mean here, with rocket." acting she could accomplish anywhere.

there can never be too much water, he wants to comment, but he knows that cannot logically be true. too much water is the world kyogre wants; a world flooded but somehow not drowed; he does not share that vision.

he does not return to stitching either, joining her on their makeshift break to turn and face her.

"where else?"

a beat.

"any hidden talents i should be aware of?" his gaze flicks to the workstation briefly. "certainly not stitching."

"there's a reason you'll never see a child in my arms. maternity and motherly acts are not in my arsenal." she couldn't possibly imagine bearing a child, unless it meant abandoning it immediately to pursue her own selfish desires (hm. idea.). in that way, she realized her and her mother were much more alike than she wanted to accept.[break][break]

circe decided to play her next move boldly and sat herself on the throne of theo beckett's lap. "i have many talents, though i can't say i really hide any of them. i'm very much an open book, you see." in some ways, at least. though as she sat there thinking of what else she could possibly be gifted in that was unknown to the world, circe came up blank. it made her face turn sour. perhaps she wasn't as interesting as she thought she was.[break][break]

"perhaps i need to elevate my level of mystery and intrigue," she sighed, elbows coming to rest at theo's broad shoulders. "by the way, i haven't forgotten about our modeling gig. we might find out today that you have a hidden talent for the model life." her teeth displayed themselves in a cheeky smile.

those who say they're an open book often prove to be the opposite. he would know, given how he's delivered the exact same sentiments before only in different words.

unmoving as she ascends, his gaze travels up slowly before eventually finding hers. mystery and intrigue pave the way for basic desires, one he has no issues indulging in.

"perhaps you do, though not with me."

circe held her gaze with theo and remained quiet. there was just the low whir of machinery surrounding them and their even breaths.[break][break]

the slightest wiggle in the pocket of circe's lab coat reminded her that her little zubat was tucked away, napping like the lazy nocturnal creature he was.[break][break]

she broke their locked eyes to lean in herself, but she moved to approach his ear, and whispered, "there are many things i'd like to find out about you, mr. beckett." one hand caressed the back of his neck, the tips of her perfecty manicured nails barely grazing skin.[break][break]

and then, almost too abruptly, she pulled back and was on her feet again, grabbing one of the completed sygna suits. "now, now! let's see how your catwalk is." she urged for him to stand and, of course, undress. "this looks to be your size, i'd say." she held the tight-fitting, spandex-like suit out for him.

there's a subtlety to the way he leans in, expecting (and ready) to follow through with what awaits them that when she abruptly pulls away, he's left feeling slightly dejected, a feeling he doesn't usually feel.

even so, his steely expression doesn't falter. he lets his lips snake into a faint grin, moving to stand as he eyes the sygna suit.

as tempting as it is, his head shakes.

"another time, perhaps."

he spares a gesture to their workstations.

"we have more suits to stich."

circe immediately scoffed. "i recall you promising to model these for me," she retorted. and while, yes, they could wait for later, she was still not in the mood to return to work. procrastination was her friend.[break][break]

"so. are you going to put this on yourself, or do i have to undress you?" she threatened as she held the flimsy suit out, letting it hang like a wet towel. given that they were close to undressing mere moments ago, it wasn't all that bad of an idea, she thought.[break][break]

or was that what theo wanted? if so, she was willing to bring the bite to her bark.[break][break]

she let the lab coat fall from her shoulders and hang from her arms. "would you feel better if i were to put one on, too?" she spoke too sweetly.

his eyes never once stray to the wet towel of a suit that hangs off her arm. he remains focused as he begins stiching another suit to add to their limited collection.

"i may feel more inclinced to participate, but i can't say for certain."

having done it before, he quickly learns the intricacies of stitching. he maneuvers the needle with trained ease, finishing his work in under a minute.

he places the needle down, then offers her the suit.

circe sighed. "very well," she succumbed.[break][break]

the suit in hand dropped to the floor to take the one he offered. she turned her back to him and let the lab coat slip off the rest of her body. as it did, her zubat wriggled himself out of the pocket and found a new sleeping spot on a rack in the corner.[break][break]

"eyes closed," she warned theo, giving him one glance before gracefully switching out of her already skin-tight clothing into the cheaply made suit.[break][break]

it was far from her usual attire and perhaps a little on the small side, having taken a few oomphs to get over her chest. "a deal's a deal, beckett," she said coolly, now facing him, hand on hip. her eyes moved from him to the suit she left on the floor.

never one to compromise his integrity, theo turns, allowing her privacy to change out of her attire and into the suit he'd just finished stitching. it looked small against his workstation and it looks even smaller stretched along her figure.

at her direction, he glances at the discarded suit on the floor, then nods.

"very well."

unabashed, he undoes the button of his shirt, then pants, before sliding into the suit, its tight fabric catching against his skin on numerous occasions, but he manages.

he glances down at his suit, then at her to shrug.

"they're apparently functional."

circe's eyes followed the movements of theo's slim fingers as they worked through the buttons, until he reached the end of his torso. at this, she swiveled on her heel and let her sight roam the rest of the room.[break][break]

"let's see," she mused, now facing him with a front seat view. "hmm," the actor hummed, hand at chin as if in deep thought, though there really wasn't much to say about such a bland, ill-fitting suit on a man of theo's frame.[break][break]

"well, aren't we a pair? i garner we'd catch a few nods if we strutted around headquarters with these on." she quirked her eyebrows jokingly. truthfully, she would never be seen in such a ridiculous outfit outside of this room. her reputation wouldn't stand for it.[break][break]

"where's my phone," said the woman then, lightbulb going off when she realized a picture of theo beckett would make for a wonderful holiday card. "think you can pose for me, theo darling?"

it hadn't been too long ago that he came across gossip running wild amongst rocket personnel about rocket daddies; out of the other names once mentioned, only theo remains; so it's not too far-fetched to think the same could happen again.

distracted for a brief moment by his reflection; his supple bottom in particular—he wonders why the SYGNA SUIT he has at home isn't as shapely as this—he idly responds to her question.

"what for?"
