Circe flinched. She had suspected the chances would be low, but of course, not impossible. "Typical," her thoughts intruded.[break][break]

"Of course you work here," she then said, the corners of her mouth lifting into a smile meant only for appearances. She proceeded to move forward, hands held confidently at the straps of her backpack. Roman, who had returned the gaze to the fire lizard, broke eye contact to pace alongside his trainer.[break][break]

"Well, don't mind me," Circe continued to say, intending on walking past the woman and her pokemon. "I'm just here on business." What that business was though, she'd rather not state.[break][break]

Returning home to Dewford always made Circe feel icky, which was why she spent the better part of her adult years avoiding it, even if it did offer quiet beaches and peace. However, when she heard a rumor about "mysterious treasures" tucked away in Granite Cave, well, who could blame the actor for catching a boat over the weekend?[break][break]

For safety measures, Circe wore a vibrant red-orange suit built for all matters of a cave, along with a pair of sturdy hiking boots and a hefty backpack filled with supplies. The last thing she wanted to do was die in a cave.[break][break]

Roman, her braixen, led the way. Though there were lights attached to the sides of the cave walls, once they climbed deeper into the ruins that Granite Cave hid oh so well, all forms of light would disappear. It was not a place many others chose to dwell, unless one was a pokemon.[break][break]

When she saw another human on the path ahead of her, she called out to them, "What are you doing here?" Her tone seemed defensive, accusatory.[break][break]

Circe would have loved to laugh in that moment, but it would have given away the false promises. Instead, she remained quiet, letting Victoria sweet-talk the prisoner onto their side. But both her and her venonant stood, watching him with unflinching eyes, forever intimidating him. The added pressure would either help sway him to speak, or double-down and refuse.[break][break]

Circe gently pet at the venonat's head while they waited for the man to give his answer. If they were successful and lucky, he'd deliver information worthy to the organization. In his final moments, the very least he could do was be useful to them.

The act was quick, simple, and painless—well, painless for the woman doing the stabbing.[break][break]

The sight of the dead man left no impact on Circe, but she did hold out her chest proudly when the General God praised her. She did so enjoy being praised like a good little girl.[break][break]

With a pleasant smile on her face, she turned to face jayden cross and said, "If you need me, let me know."[break][break]

Hopefully, she had made a good impression to them all.

The provided gear proved helpful and hastened the task at hand, although Circe moved slowly despite it all. At times, it seemed as if she was toying with the devices, picking at wires with little care. The muggy cave atmosphere did not help to energize her.[break][break]

Eventually, the two of them had completed the installation. Circe was antsy to return to the outside, so when something picked up on the security, she turned her back to it with crossed arms.[break][break]

"That's it. We're done," she spoke to Kasper, hoping they wouldn't notice the moving figure on the cameras. "Let's get out of here."

When the God General presented his task, Circe could not help but chuckle. Could it really be this easy?[break][break]

Her decision came quickly.[break][break]

"Of course we'll kill him," she chimes ever-so-calmly, as if this was just another daily chore she had done before. "If he's with the League, then he must die. If he's one of ours, well..." She paused and stepped forward to the bound man. A single erect finger jabbed against the man's forehead. Narrowed eyes peered down at him, judgmental and cold.[break][break]

"He did a poor job to fail and get caught. We don't need trash like this."[break][break]

She wholeheartedly believed in her own words. There was no need for a useless person. And that included her, too.

He takes a moment to process the pain and think over how to respond, weighing the heavy burden of treason versus personal survival in his mind. The man's anxiety is obvious in the way he picks at his cuticles while he internally deliberates, causing them to bleed a stark red against the dull gray all around. [break][break]

Her venonat watched the man with unflinching, red-speckled eyes as Victoria delivered her onslaught of threats. Meanwhile, Circe had circled around him, drawing slender fingers across his shoulder. She wondered if his pride had been damaged by the doing of two unyielding women, or if perhaps he was secretly enjoying their torture.[break][break]

The man seemed to shrink in his seat, but still, no words surfaced. Circe signaled her venonat.[break][break]

Luna's eyes lit a faint blue, and that same blue outlined the man's figure. The DISABLE would cause his muscles to jerk and twitch out of the human norm.[break][break]

"You must think you're some sort of hero for withholding information from us, but from where we stand, you simply look like a fool, clinging to his pathetic life." Circe rounded the man to stand beside the seated Victoria. She crossed her arms. "That's enough."[break][break]

Luna released the DISABLE to allow the man his opportunity to speak.[break][break]

"Do you want to do the honors?" Circe spoke to Victoria, in case the man continued to defy them.

"Yes," thought Circe to herself, her lips fighting to lift into a smile. "I have made the correct choice."[break][break]

The man that stood before her was a nearly perfect sculpture, one that she wouldn't mind keeping in her own home for viewing pleasure. She imagined Zev Harcout in his bare form, hand held at his chin, his piercing gaze looking off to the side.[break][break]

Her imagination was getting the best of her. By the time she had realized other grunts had drifted off, it was too late to make a decision. But, this was perfect for the lustful woman anyways. To be in the presence of such a hardened, muscled man pleased Circe. This would have been her choice anyways. Hopefully that also pleased Jayden.[break][break]

"They don't know what they're missing," Circe murmured, eyes slanted at the grunts that had chosen to leave.[break][break]

A small part of her hoped pain would be involved.

The drive was a bore save for a few sudden bumps in the road. "If only there was a sunset," Circe had joked at one point, which was already a difficult scenario to ask for when in the city of Sootopolis, surrounded by its white crags.[break][break]

Fortunately for the both of them, they did not need to spend the entire day on their Sunday drive. As the time neared its end, Circe motioned for Mark to return to the hangar and park. Mark had done splendidly, for the most part.[break][break]

"I look forward to playing with you again," she said, gently patting him on the head and lifting herself off the ATV. As a farewell, she blew him a kiss before exiting the grounds.

Once Mark was in position, Circe made herself comfortable by wrapping her arms around his waist (to ensure safety). She had intended on leaning in to whisper sweet nothings, but when the ATV kicked into gear and attempted to throw them off, Circe found herself clinging to him even more desperately.[break][break]

There were few things in the world that made Circe break out of her cool and confident demeanor. Hearing the collective laughs of others nearby drew blood into her face. "Don't you know how to drive?" she snapped into Mark's ear. Soothing whispers and sweet nothings were out the window now.[break][break]

She cleared her throat to regain composure, but her hands were still firmly around Mark, in case the ATV threatened to buck them off again. Circe was not interested in being made to look like a fool even more.[break][break]

"Take it easy," she said, unintentionally blowing hot air onto his ear. But it wouldn't be long until a fellow grunt interrupted them with his idea of fun. Perhaps their earlier stunt led others to believe they would make quite the racing pair.[break][break]

Circe held her nose in the air and looked down at the grunt. "What a joke. I'm not here for your entertainment." Said the actor. "I prefer this. Don't you?" she then purred at Mark, finding any excuse to keep him by her side and at the wheel for the both of them.
