The music raged-- and only now playing to Happy's victory as he kept maintaining the wall! As the Encored Aegislash continued to bash at the wall, Happy held the barrier in place. Despite such a sturdy defense, Happy looked focused and strained as he used his little hands to maintain the wall for a bit. [break][break] "Hang in there, Happy!" Zachary encouraged his Pokemon. From the sidelines, Dizzy also cheered. [break][break] By now, Arron KNEW what Zachary was up to. A trainer of his skill could see it coming. The audience was mixed at some knew-- and some didn't have a clue and still mocked the mime. [break][break] But that would change soon... [break][break] Arron's Aegislash soon got clever and began to ascend up and over the wall. Happy saw it, and let out a nervous chirp of dread. "Clever iron... Happy, Psybeam!! " [break][break] It was then that Happy moved to the music, his arms shot up to the airborne Aegislash. With a raise of its arms, a multi-colored beam of light went off from him, hitting the Aegislash-- despite its lack of effect. All the while, Happy moved to the beat of the music. Even if the Psybeam wasn't that effective-- the probably to cause it to get confused was still high. [break][break] As the music went on and Happy 'danced', Zachary smirked. It was now time... [break][break]
[break][break] After Happy's repelling flash-- sound snapped as something appeared overhead. The audience went into shock and amazement as it happened. Future Sight again! Dizzy's final gift to the fight after he had been defeated-- and some didn't even know that Future Sight would still go on, even after the caster's defeat. Dizzy smirked as he sat next to Zachary, proud of himself. [break][break]--MASS DESTRUCTION!![break][break] At that very right beat of the climax to Happy's favorite music, the orbs of highly-charged psychic energy came crashing down! The Future Sight struck into Aegislash, now unable to defend himself from the powerful attack. [break][break] As the smoke cleared, Zachary smiled, proud of himself and his strategy. The audience went dumbfounded, surprised Zachary got the drop on Arron and won up with such a little pokemon. And they had not seen anything yet. Happy was full of tricks up his sleeve. Zachary returned a kind smile to Arron, suggesting his pride in his creative thinking. [break][break]

Aegislash's resistance to psychic type attacks didn't matter much when it was in its attack mode. It's defenses were so horrible that even a not very effective attack would do decent damage. Still, the Psybeam was enough to hold the Iron Head using sword in place...and the Future Sight struck from above in a true two pronged attack. And with no way to defend thanks to that Encore, the explosion from the attacks resounded throughout the stadium, along with audible gasps. Aegislash fell, knocked out. At the announcement, Aaron returned one of his oldest friends. "Nice work. You've earned a good polishing and shining. I'll make you sparkle." With good work comes good rewards. Spoiling his Pokemon after good showings, whether it was in victory or defeat, was a regular thing for him.

Putting away the pokeball, Aaron grabbed another and threw it out, revealing a huge Dhelmise. The anchor Pokemon floated high, only to gently lower itself down. Normally, he would have mixed one special attacker with one physical attacker, but he admittedly was a little lazy on that. More so when over half your roster were physical attackers. Oh well. When the coninuation was allowed, it time to sweep this scrub (jokingly)! "Sword's Dance." In line with the tune coming from the little Mime Jr., the anchor danced with energy swords swirling around, giving the Pokemon a faint reddish brown aura. They were just going to wait and see what other tricks the little guy had...and if they were good enough to warrant more attention or if they could boost once more.

Zachary had done it! Or rather, they had done it. Zachary, Dizzy and Happy pulled through with combined effort to clinch a win. Even with a disadvantage, they overcame it with their very wits, and that made it all the more greater. But it was far from over. As Arron soon recalled his Aegislash, it soon came another Pokemon of problems. A Dhelmise! The ghostly ship wheel of a pokemon emerged, being both a ghost and grass type. It was an oddity alone, but its ghost type attributes would be a danger. Happy still had weaknesses to ghost, but something about this bugged Zachary. A detail about this Pokemon that eluded him for the moment. The sight of the giant wheel made Happy look up at it, almost a little intimidated. [break][break] "Happy, don't get scared! You got this! " Zachary cheered his Pokemon on. [break][break] It was then that the music changed, moving to a different track on the playlist-- and it then kicked in. [break][break]
[break][break] The moment the new beat picked up, Happy's worry switched to glee! It was one of his favorites, fully of happiness, optimism and value of one's self. Happy again danced to the beat, his worry melting away along with his trainer's faith in him. [break][break]It was then that the Ghostly wheel glowed, and the lights of swords surrounded him, using Sword Dance. Luckily, Zachary felt confident in Reflect's defenses for now. It was a good sign to know this one was a physical attacker. But he couldn't let his guard down. [break][break] "Happy, start things off! Dazzling Gleam!" Zachary called out. [break][break] Happy continued to dance, making it look like a dance battle than a real battle-- and with the command, released a Dazzling blast of color and light. Not only did it do damage, but it just illuminated the battlefield with a flurry of neon, multi-colored lights, now flowing to the beat of the music. [break][break] While Zachary doubted the Dazzling gleam would do much damage, it was to at least get a small hit in, and Zachary soon took action, using it as a destruction. [break][break] "Okay, Happy! Time to roll the dice and show your true power! METRONOME!!" [break][break] Happy let out a happy cheer as he soon really got into the dance, waving his little arms left to right with the flow of the music. All the while, shaking his little body, the same motion was conjuring an unseen, unpredictable power! This was why Happy was given the Tarot designation of "The Fool", a person capable of becoming anything or anyone. His very soul held infinite potential, just like the unseen attack... and no one could predict what would happen. [break][break]

The little guy seemed intimidated at first, but soon straightened out when Zach encouraged it. Trust in their partner was essential in Aaron's eyes. Another good point for the other trainer. But the guy still seemed confident in Reflect's powers. Well...considering it was able to stop Aegislash, that was perhaps warranted. The blue haired teen soon started things off with a Dazzling Gleam, a harder attack to dodge...but Aaron already had something in mind. Both to bypass Reflect and avoid the disco light heading towards Dhelmise. "Phantom Force." The anchor opened a portal and went through it, closing it as soon as it passed through.

The Dazzling Gleam peppered the field, but found no target at all. It was hardly Dhelmise's only trick. And Zach will learn that soon enough. What did worry him was the use of Metronome right afterwards. That was a ballsy move. A gamble that could go either way. Ace could respect a calculated risk. This could be interesting...or hilarious. Metronome had a wierd way of doing things. For now, he just waited until the time was right, and hoped he had an answer for whatever Metronome came up with.

Happy's Dazzling Gleam was a good effect, if nothing else adding a new 'dance stage' for the happy Mime. However, the battle got real right then and there. Zachary saw it as did Happy-- as the enemy soon used Phantom Force. It opened a portal of darkness and slipped right through. Zachary had seen this before-- when he fought Haunter (aka Greed) in Mt. Pyre! SO did Happy. As Happy continued to dance with Metronome , they had no choice but to wait. "Keep sharp, Happy. Remember like last time." Zachary urged. What happy lacked in evolution-- he made up for with experience. They both did. [break][break] At the exact same time that Phantom Force and Arron's Dhelmise began to appear, the Metronome also finished-- and Happy glowed with a burning red aura. [break][break] "Happy! Above yoU!" Out came the ghost pokemon, attempting to drop right on top of happy! The thing COMPLETELY BYPASSED HAPPY'S REFLECT! [break][break] However, Happy had moved with a blur of fire, just avoiding a critical hit from it. At most, the impact knocked Happy forward-- but that was to its advantage. In that instant, Happy used its temporary power-- Flame Charge! The little Mime Jr. volted right up against his own magical wall-- and using Flame Charge throttled itself right against the Dhelmgist! It not only dodged the majority of its attack-- but counter-attacked using the fiery boost. It also made Happy far faster too! [break][break] "I-Incredible! That little pip-squeak used Metronome and pulled out a powerful counter-attack with Flame Charge! In all my years as an announcer, I haven't seen anything like this!" the referee announced-- which had now drawn the attention of the majority of the battle arena. Half of the audience was cheering for Arron to crush the Mime Jr already, while the other half was completely stupefied to see the Mime Jr hold its own this long and do this much damage already! [break][break] Zachary smiled, relieved and thrilled Happy adapted well to Metronome. He had not known how it would work-- but it was times like this he was thrilled it could! But there was a bigger problem now. That Dhelmhist could just slip right through their protective barriers. It was then Zachary's eyes widened-- remember what ghosts were vulnerable to. If Dazzling Gleam couldn't do any good-- then another Ghost could. [break][break] "Happy quick-- Use Mimic!" Zachary instructed. Having witnessed the move first hand, Happy locked eyes on the Dhelmgist-- and soon Happy glowed, memorizing the move the ghost just did. [break][break] While it now had the moved memorized-- it had to wait for the right moment. Using it would be risky otherwise without the right timing. So happy had to hold on and wait. For now, they had to hope luck was on their side, and if need be Metronome could save their butts again. [break][break]

As soon as Dhelmise reappeared, Zach had a plan. And Metronome just happened to work in his favor this time. A gamble well played. The Mime Jr. zoomed away, covered in flames, avoiding Dhelmise's slam of a Phantom Force. Then the little fella ran up the Reflects and bounced back towards Dhelmise. Time to use a trick. "Whirlpool." With a half spin, the anchor summoned the beginnings of essentially a water tornado. But it was enough to dowse those flames and send the Mime Jr. away without damage. The fact that it was able to do that showed how experienced Mime Jr. was. Particularly when it used Mimic at the same time to learn Phantom Force. Uh oh. That...wasn't good. Ace didn't have much for that, aside from expanding the water tornado...

That could the be the trap. He'll wait for now, see what Zach's next move would be. Maybe force it to react in a way that would make him predictable. "Sword's Dance" Dhelmise glowed again with swords surrounding it, dancing all the while. Ace would hope that one hit would be all it took. Whirlpool may be the defense...but Anchor Shot would finish it. Now to see what Zach did. Would he attack or place more defensive barriers? Aaron ignored the audience...some people just couldn't appreciate a good battle as an audience member, could they.

Zachary's confidence was renewed as Happy's clever use of Metronome paid off. This was what Happy was good at, adapting to random situations and finding the best outcome in the heat of the moment-- depending on how their luck went. Of course, they couldn't depend on luck the whole time. If he wasn't careful, it could blow up in their faces. But this was the time to turn the tide. It came to Zachary. Dhelmgist was weak against fellow ghost attacks-- and grabbing Phantom Force via Mimic was the perfect tool to even the playing field between the stronger Pokemon. [break][break] However-- that was before the ghost maranier of a pokemon suddenly created a Whirlpool around it, acting in a defensive measure. Zachary's eyes widened as the sudden whirlpool spawned around the ghostly wheel-- and began to spread outway. Happy was completely swept up by it. "Happy!!" Zachary cried as the Mime was washed away. [break][break] The whirlpool went round, and round-- making the Mime Jr. look like a stray rubber ducky. The mime would shout as he was thrown around, the little guy not physically strong enough to swim out of the watery trap. [break][break] Pressure was on Zachary, to make a sound judgment. Regardless the whirlpool would keep Happy at its mercy and make him a sitting duck. If he didn't act, it would come back to hurt them. He felt the urgency-- and that meant now was the time to strike. He had to have faith, in Happy and his own judgment to act. The time was now! [break][break] "Happy-- Dive below and do it!" Zachary cried out to Happy. Hearing his trainer's voice over the roar of the whirlpool-- Happy gave a optimistic cheer. He then used all his strength and plunged under the water! [break][break] To everyone, Happy had vanished under the water. No one, not even Arron or the audience could tell where he was. Zachary slowly smirked, leaving everyone wondering what his plan was. But Happy knew and did what he did best. [break][break] By now Dhelmgist would be behind his defensive whirlpool. The seemingly emotionless pokemon probably wouldn't know what would happen. [break][break] Boink... boink-boink-boink[break][break] Soft pokes would be felt by the ghostly wheel from behind it, presuming taps on the shoulder. Eventually it would turn-- [break][break] "Mi-miiiii!" Happy said with a mischievous smile on his face, sticking out of a ghostly portal from behind Dhelmgist! Happy had used Phantom Force escaping the whirlpool and appearing behind the enemy. [break][break]"Now-- METRONOME!!" Zachary shouted, giving luck another chance. [break][break] WACK!! In that instance, Happy pounced on Dhelmgist, its body suddenly surrounded by a viciously black aura as Happy pounced, delivering a powerful wack with its little arms. It wouldn't have done anything-- but that black aura just gave it a vicious impact. Zachary had no clue what THAT was, but anyone clever enough could figure it out. After all that power building-- it could only be one thing. Foul Play -- a Dark Move that got stronger, the stronger the enemy was. Considering their vast differences in power, no wonder it would produce such a powerful result! [break][break]

The Mime Jr. was caught in the water spout. Time to end this! Ace was about to give a command when Zach went ahead with his own. The little guy dove in...then disappeared. It didn't take a genius to know what happened. "Be on your guard, he used Phantom Force." The anchor looked around in front of him, while Ace kept an eye on the ghost's back. His own personal favorite was using Phantom Force to strike at the back...despite how predictable it was, no one seemed to be prepared for it. And there it was, the tiny little portal showed up. "Gyro Ball! Behind you!" Glowing silver, Dhelmise spun in a white ball of light backwards. Sadly missing.

Still, it was just one of many good moves Zach had pulled during this match, surpassing many people's expectations. Maybe Ace had served too much to be a paragon of young trainers that everyone else thought that he would win outright. Metronome was given another chance to shine. Gamble too much, and you're liable to get burned. The second one was a lucky break though, Aaron recognized it as Foul Play. Too bad it wouldn't land. "Phantom Force." Dhelmise slipped into a portal before the blow could land. Lucky break that he used one of his physical attacking ghosts...even if it did know a special move like Whirlpool. When Dhelmise did reappear, it would shoot out like a rocket in a slide to clip the little Mime Jr. in the legs from the right.

The fight was quickly approaching a climax as the two Pokemon clash, now both with the power to 'teleport' for lack of a better word. The attacks were growing more and more intense, especially via the use of Metronome. There was no way to predict what would happen. Happy's attack missed as Dhelmgist vanished one again into the Phantom Force portal. It was coming again, and this time, no way to really avoid it. Happy let out another squeak as Foul Play missed. [break][break] "Happy! Quick, use Mimic and Phantom Force away again!" he warned. Happy obeyed and jumped into another portal, evading Dhelmgist. [break][break] The fight was growing tenser as it seemed both trainers and Pokemon were keen to avoid any direct hits. And now, the time had come as Happy reappeared above Dhemheist. [break][break] "Happy, use Metronome one more time! " [break][break] Happy gave a cry as he came from above to Dhelmgist. [break][break]....[break][break] "Miiiimeee!" Happy cooed, giving Dhelmgist a strong, tight hug. [break][break] Some in the audience laughed, others just went 'awww', now captivated by the Mime Jr.'s adorable nature. [break][break]Zachary froze, then clapped a hand over his eyes in shame. "Happy...!" Zachary sighed. Dizzy beside him covered his eyes with his paws. [break][break] Happy used "WRAP" to try and squeeze him, but of course Happy went with the randomness to pull off an adorable hug on the ghost. [break][break] If Arron countered at the right time, he could crush Happy right then and there, but Zachary wasn't willing to give up. "Happy! Get away from him quick! It won't hesitate to attack you!" Zachary warned, trying to get through to his Mime jr. [break][break] Still, Happy was a hugger than a fighter, and didn't regret the hug. [break][break]

Dhelmise missed due to the little fella copying his own move. This cycle could continue forever if niether one did something else. Mime Jr. reappeared above them. And used Metronome. Then he promptlly hugged Dhelmise. Blinking a couple times, Aaron couldn't help but comment. "And that is why you shouldn't rely on gambles too much. Gyro Ball." Boosted attack power, overall slower than the little fella, and Dhelmise's own Steelworker ability...one shot would be all it needed. And with him being right there...the Dhelmise spun into a glowing white ball and surged forward and hopped, hoping to use both the attack and the ground to slam the little guy into the dirt.

Aaron was no stranger to cuteness. His older brother doted on him a lot. From dressing him into cute clothes or even himself. But in the middle of a battle, there wasn't much room for it. Even Keenan knew better. If the older blonde was here, he'd likely be going gaga over it and chastising Ace for continuing to attack. But thankfully, Kee wasn't here. And he was fine with that.

Happy had given it a good effort, especially to avoid serious injury from the advantage type the Dhelmgist was. HGowever, his luck had run out from Metronome and his combat as the Gyro Ball came in. Happy tried to dodge, but was struck by the powerful blow of the ball! Happy was knocked several feet away, the cannonball like projectile hitting the poor little Mime. [break][break] "Happy! " he shouted, the trainer concerned to see his Mime Jr on the floor. There was no negative jeering or hasstle as the crowd watched the little mime who had held his own. [break][break] Hearing his trainer's shout, Happy fought to crawl back to his feet. Despite covered with bad scratches and bruises-- the little Mime rose up, but on his last legs. [break][break] "Happy, use Mimic one last time! It's all or nothing!"Zachary cried. [break][break] With a cheer, Happy jumped forward and vanished into a dark portal like Dhelmgist did. [break][break] Once more was a pause as Happy had vanished, till another portal came from the Dhelmhist's lower left-- trying to catch him off guard with a quick attack and perhaps win for his trainer! [break][break] A final gambit or a desperate ploy against a far stronger enemy? No one could tell as Happy gave it all to beat the ghostly foe. [break][break]

The attack struck true. But the Mime Jr. toughed it out so his trainer wouldn't be sad. Too bad he'll be sad anyways. The fairy and psychic type disappeared into the void again. When it reappeared, the little guy was in perfect striking range. "Finish this. Anchor Shot." The hook part of the ghosty anchor fired after a small adjustment for aiming. It was still perhaps a bit close for comfort. The anchor slammed into the little guy with a single shot. The little guy tried to get up, but then went back down. The announcement was made and cheers erupted. Even the nay-sayers had been impressed. Aaron returned his Dhelmise and bowed respectfully before returning to the back.

There, Aaron waited until Zach showed up. The five foot four blonde walked right up to him with his phone out, and almost shoved it into the guy's face. "Can we trade contact information? It would make setting up a rematch much easier." The other trainers in the room collectively gasped. Some even commented what was the point since the kid won. Others caught on that it was one hell of an awknowledgement if they ever seen one. Not that Aaron paid much attention to them. The guy was good. And could be quite an interesting challenge. The guy could even become a rival to him.
