As the sandstorm kept raging, Andrea kept coughing up sand. Her eyes were thankfully protected by the glasses she wore, but all that dust and debris in the air made it hard to see what was in front of her, sadly missing the shiny Yamper that brushed past her.

Through the raging sandstorm, the young cosplayer was barely able to make out a Psychic attack headed their way. "Sandy, look out!"

The wave of psionic energy bounced off the bipedal lizard's armored frame, doing no damage thanks to its Dark typing. The Tyranitar's Payback knocked their aggressor right in front of Andrea's feet.

"M-monkey?!" The girl muttered in shock, the sight of the downed Oranguru unlocking a core memory from two years ago. Without thinking, she dropped a Safari Ball onto the groggy simian's head.

Rocks fell, Andrea almost died. What was that Bombirdier doing? Storks were supposed to deliver babies, not death from above!

A cautionary Stone Edge from Sandy was enough to scare the feathered menace away.

Andrea's nose scrunched up. "What's that stench?" Lost in the sandstorm, a wild Koffing bumped into her. "Ow! Hello there. Aren't you a cute little guy?" The eccentric trainer cooed, arms extended for a hug.

The purple ball emitting noxious gases stared back at her with its unflinching, eternally happy expression, before its round body began lighting up.

"Oh no!" The girl's amethyst eyes widened. "D-don't blow up! Crud... Safari Ball, go!" She panickedly used one of the camo-patterned balls, hoping that it would stop the Koffing from self-destructing in front of her face.

What was that sound? It sounded like... crying. Trudging her way out of the sandstorm, Andrea located the wailing crybaby; a tiny Toxel that seemed to have been separated from its nest.

"You poor thing. Come here." Her maternal instincts awakened, the young woman embraced the purple infant, gently rubbing its back. "Shh shh... It's OK. You're safe now." She softly whispered.

The Toxel tearfully looked back at the kind human, sniffling, before leaning its head against her chest, its sobbing gradually dying down.

Setting the baby Pokémon back down, the dragon maiden fished her costume's pockets for another Safari Ball. "Wanna join my team? You could be Jalapeño's little brother!"

Having warmed up to her, the infantile reptile nodded enthusiastically, allowing the eccentric trainer to capture it with no resistance.

Using the sandstorm as a cover, in combination with its own smoke ninjutsu, a wild Froakie ambushed the draconic cosplayer. It licked her face with its long tongue, eliciting a discomforted cry from the girl. "Eeew! I'm not a lollipop!"

Sandy grabbed that flexible tongue before it could get retracted into the perpetrator's mouth, then proceeded to swing the poor frog around like a flail. Once the Water starter was sufficiently dizzy, Andrea hurled a Safari Ball at it.

That Froakie may never be as strong as CIAN MAHER's Ribbit-san, but with enough training they could one day reach the level of Michael Navidson's Hattori.
