Ever since she could remember, Mahina’s always been with her bestie, Leilani Kalawai'a ! They've been together since that day she had woken up half drowned in Alola and looked up to see a terrified girl staring back at her. That sea water tasted about as good as most of her cooking…But Lei’s family did welcome her in, despite the lack of funds to really support her, and that’s why she was so grateful to start stealing money and things to try and pay them back!

This whole “almost dying but being indentured servants to Rocket” thing aside, she’s gotten to get her hands on all the new tech. And Leilani’s definitely gotten them out of worse before, right?

WHAT CAN BE LOOKED UP

• 20 years ago, a luxurious yacht belonging to a wealthy couple had been reported as missing or adrift at sea with the CEO of a beauty products line and his wife, alongside their young child. The boat was found underseas several months later with the bodies of the husband and wife being identified. The daughter's body was never found to this day.
• She's most active around the water and works undercover as a swimming instructor / life guard around Slateport Beach when not thieving with her partner.
• When not surfing the waves and keeping people safe, Mahina is usually out shopping or searching for modeling work. She's considered doing contests and events, but dislikes the long days.

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR THE LEAGUE FACTION

• As mentioned above, there's ties to Mahina and possibly the missing child case that's been cold for 2 decades, though with how long the case has sat unresolved, it's unlikely most are able to discover that she's the child who was lost at sea.
• Mahina's private records list her birth in Alola, though there's notes and signs that these had been added at a date later than when she was born.

ROCKET KNOWLEDGE

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR TEAM ROCKET FACTION

• Mahina and Leilani Kalawai'a were both caught unintentionally stealing confidential Rocket intel packaged in with a device that was said to be worth millions on the black market. Leilani did get them out of being executed on the spot, but Mahina isn't too fond of working for such an organization out of principle.
• She's got the charm and charisma that her partner lacks, able to take on any persona and is more suitable for disguised missions and operations.
• Several infractions for purchasing exotic or luxury goods on a Rocket spending account for infiltrations.
