Cassandra has been a bit perplexed, but ultimately not surprised as her dumb (affectionately) best friend just threw a glove dramtically at her - points for the theatrics tho - during lunch break without warning. However, because she's also a certain degree of dumb and impressionable, she has established eye contact, and without breaking it, slowly picked up the glove with something of a fierce look in her face.

And then proceeded to have lunch as normal, chatting away with her other friends as if nothing at all had happened.

"I think you should get ready to lose!" Cass replies with a grin, and decides on her own two pokémon for this battle ... "Alright, it's go-time, Sona and Delilah!" She returns Knight's choice in kind with her own Charcadet, even if she probably got ... worse means to obtain it than he had. (Nothing to worry about, in the grand scheme of things.)

"Sona dear, it's your turn first," they say, and motion for Delilah to take a step back - much to her chagrin, but she has to learn to be patient. And Cass couldn't deny it'd be kinda funny for the two oversized tool bearers to fight ... ... "Do you wanna start us off or do we get first shot?"

"Starting aggressive, huh?" Cass grins at the attack, and has already decided way early what attack Sona would use - or rather, it was what Sona used in most cases in the first round. Since, well, it was an attack that only really worked in the first round.

The fairy-steel type pokémon seems to be (partially genuinely) horrified at the sight of the incoming attack, her eyes wide as she seems to simply book it, run away to someplace else- maybe even behind their team mate Delilah, who looked at the whole spectactle with a frown.

However, just at the last second, Sona turned back, having seemingly gathered all of the determination she could muster, grabbing her (not yet as impressive) hammer, and takes a counter-swing - aimed lower, to both dodge the Brutal Swing and directly harm Fitzwilliam with her Fake Out.

"Awesome Fake Out, dear!" Cassandra grins, to which Sona could only reply - actually seeking some distance. She's a coward, even if she's braving up for this fight, she much, much, much prefer to fight from the distance. (Even if getting that good attack in ... that was quite nice.)

Gladly, Fitz also made some moves for some extra space, so there's even more empty space. It's a perfect distance, in fact - "Quick, Flash Cannon!" Cass shouts, and Sona happily obliges to perform the ranged attack for now. She raises her hammer, adjusting it here and there - there! She intensifies the light with some trickery, resulting in a mighty beam that she directs at her opponent!

But would it actually land?

Cass already sees the events unfold in slow motion. First, the Flash Cannon going to nowhere. Second, the Rock Smash approaching, and ... oh an interesting rock ... sometimes she wonders why all of her pokémon are a little bit of stupid, but she supposes, it's also their trainer who is deeeeeeeeeeefinitely neurotypical.

"Are you alright, dear?" she asks, but Sona has actually already stood up from being smashed by the rock. She can't see her face right now, but judging from the way she grips her hammer tightly ... might feel humiliated, and even more determined. "Hmm ... Skitter Smack!" she calls out, and Sona darts forward with speed.

Her goal is to get behind the Farfetch'd and get some good hits from behind, but she also has to be very careful of that Leaf Blade ...

Sona displays an agility and battle spirit that, frankly, Cass has also not seen before. She's excited to see it, however, and grins at her pokémon that manages to narrowly avoid the Leaf Blade and scurry behind Fitz for some smacks. The longer the fight goes on, the more pumped she seems to get! It's different from the tournament, and her progress shows - or it's also just Sona who, compared to Jon, is probably more battle-adept by default. Would she ever give up on him though? Of course not.

For now, however, she focuses up, and she throws a challenging, daring grin at Fitz. "Show us what you've got! Let's bring out the big ones, too, hmm? Dragon Hammer!" A dragon attack that Tinkatuff doesn't normally learn - however, that day, at the draconid temple, around New Year ...

Sona lets out a ferocious roar as she charges forward, seemingly summoning the spirit of an inner dragon inside of her. Even if they're easy for her kin to slay, they are still a force to be reckoned with, and so is she! Compared to before, she now aims to meet weapon to weapon as the Dragon Hammer comes down.

In the background, Delilah notices Harrow's anticipation, and flares up as well, her eyes not focused on the battlefield, but her future opponent, she hopes.

Sona seems surprised herself by the sheer power, but ... that's quite interesting, huh. She's never been the type to battle, always more enthusiastic about the fashion-related hobbies of her trainer, but this ... interesting, interesting.

"Fitz held his ground solid," Cass remarks genuinely with a smile, then nods at Harrow gets out. Sona doesn't seem like she's too beaten up yet, so she'd just-

Sona?!

"Sona, the battle's not over!" Cass calls out to her pokémon, which seems to be distracted in the middle of the battle field. And distracted of the kind that Cass isn't sure she could get her back from without physical- The Tinkatuff does snap back to the physical reality, but it's too late to dodge.

However, as Cass is scrambling with what to do, something unexpected happened. Delilah, having stared intently at Sona, suddenly rushes forward at the attack, throwing one arm in front of her with a shimmering Protect as she throws herself into the fray, and also knocks Sona back. (Cass isn't entirely sure if that's like, sweet and protective or just Del's desire for battle flaring up, honestly.)

"Ehm?!"

Cass winces as the Protect breaks under the strength of the Flame Charge, sending Delilah flying back towards Cass. Sona lets out a shocked cry, but doesn't interfere as she sees how Del immediately gets up again.

If she were a human, Cass had the vague feeling that she'd probably spit to the side right now. As she is a Charcadet, however, she simply looked at the other of her kin with a challenging glare in her eyes.

Honestly, Cass isn't sure if she could handle that in battle, but she clears her throat, just keeping herself from shouting to get Del's attention. "We've got this, now- do a Fire Spin, give them hell!" By now, she feels that it's a wonder the pokémon has waited for her command, but as soon as the attack's out of her mouth, Delilah charges forward, onward. The flames from her body turn into a spinning wheel as she gets closer, not letting the other get distance - if she had a say, this one's melee.

... gladly, Cass clocked that before shouting for any of her ranged attacks.

Also where the hell has this pokémon before she got to Cass...?!
