Briefly, he looked around reception for others— challengers, visitors, loved ones, anyone.

"... If he's occupied, I'll wait." He said simply moving to take a seat of his own.

He was stopped just short of his seat by the very man he was looking for, his voice ringing through the reception.

"Apologies— I wasn't sure my name would be remembered." He admitted as he turned towards Cian, smiling at the pep in the other's step. "Next time, though. It's good to see you again, Mr. Maher."

The other gym leader seemed in high spirits. Well, he had good reasons for it. He was, technically, a World-recognized Champion now.

He cocked his head.

"Triple H?" He echoed cluelessly, blank smile firmly in place as he gave the younger man a frog blink.

"Ah, I see!" He said with a wide smile, his hand clapping atop the younger man's in a firm handshake. "Triple H indeed!"

He was gonna get along with this young man, he felt. Probably.

"Indeed." Gwyar said, waiting patiently for the man to get things in order with his receptionist.

He mutters his thanks to them for their help before falling in line behind Rustboro's gym leader, following him into a meeting room. He takes in the space for long enough, before accepting the invitation from the other man.

As he took a seat, one of his leg slid over the other, his hands doing much the same.

"Before anything else— thank you for seeing me on such..." Zero. "Little notice."

His gratitude spoken, he quickly resettled on his seat, posture growing more firm as he spoke once again.

"You may not be aware of this, but prior to my appointment as gym leader of Mossdeep, I worked as a Hoenn Police Deputy for a little over 2 years." He said. "In Sootopolis."

A little over two years, prior to his appointment— A police officer in the Rocket occupied Sootopolis, then.

"Officially, I entered as an escort for the then recently elected Mayor, Pastor Bill Anderson." He said. "For as little as that lasted."

That man had vanished without a trace since.

"During my time, I came into conflict with members of rocket with regularity, of course." He said. "During the Meteno incident, however— I had the misfortune of running into declan walsh."

The man had talked shit, phased through all of Gwyar's attempts at stabbing him, and then threatened to make the blonde regret ever standing up to him.

He knew how to leave an impression, if nothing else.

He leaned forward.

"I can't imagine there's anything you've left out of your reports— But nonetheless. To start us off. Could you tell me... what, if anything, you know of declan walsh?"

Had he ever spoken with the man? Did he know of any quirks or habits the man might have? Did he, unlikely as it may be, reside in HQ? Were there any clues or suggestions as to where he may reside if not? Personal preferences, smell, anything.

Gwyar knew better than to expect direct, concrete answers. But maybe if he spoke with enough former rockets, investigated what they knew, corroborated some data... perhaps he would be able to form a profile for the secretive Rocket Boss.

He could only hope.
